Chapter 92 Provocation! Humiliation! Wang Yun’s Welcome Ceremony for Captain Ying Yuezi!

“Hmm? Big Brother is planning a welcome ceremony for Captain Ying Yuezi? What’s he up to?”

“What’s happening? Big Brother returned to the police station, but what exactly is he planning?”

“From Bro’s words, it sounds like he’s up to no good. With his newfound power and resources, he seems a bit too bold and reckless!”

“666! A welcome ceremony for Captain Ying Yuezi? Brother Wang is definitely stirring up trouble!”

When all the viewers in the livestream heard Wang Yun’s intentions and saw him heading back to the police station, they were filled with curiosity and confusion.

What kind of mischief was Wang Yun planning? The audience was eager to find out.

At the entrance of the police station, Wang Yun stepped out of the taxi and walked inside with a smile on his face.

Earlier that day, as Expert Sun, he had worked alongside Captain Ying Yuezi to solve the Zhao Yuexingchen case. An event that had caused quite a stir within the police station.

“Expert Sun!”

Wang Yun entered and was greeted warmly, rather than being obstructed. He nodded in acknowledgment as he headed toward the interrogation room. A quick glance inside revealed Cen Ciya, Zhao Yuexingchen’s manager, and the manager’s boyfriend. All appearing defeated and dejected.

The interrogation room was locked, barring Wang Yun’s entry. He looked around thoughtfully, then made his way toward the room where identity documents were processed. Approaching the door, he peered inside.

“Brother Qian Jun, could you come here for a moment?” Wang Yun called out.

“Uh?”

Qian Jun, slightly taken aback by Wang Yun’s voice, stood up and approached with enthusiasm, asking, “Expert Sun, do you need something?”

“I have a favor to ask. There are some details about Zhao Yuexingchen’s case I’d like to understand better. Could you have someone unlock the interrogation?” Wang Yun asked, smiling.

“No problem, Expert Sun. I’ll find someone to unlock it for you,” Qian Jun replied, nodding and then leading Wang Yun to the interrogation room. He showed no suspicion toward Wang Yun.

Shortly after, Qian Jun came with a young officer who, upon seeing Wang Yun, also greeted him with a smile, “Expert Sun, what else would you like to know?”

“There are just a few minor details I’m still puzzled about. By the way, where are Captain Ying Yuezi and the others?” Wang Yun asked.

“I’m not sure, they left in a hurry about half an hour ago,” the young officer replied, shaking his head and opening the interrogation room door. “Please come in, Expert Sun.”

Wang Yun nodded in acknowledgment and gestured for them to follow, “Come in and close the door behind you.”

“Alright.”

The young officer and Qian Jun complied, entering the room.

Inside, Wang Yun surveyed the three murderers, then his gaze shifted to the young officer and Qian Jun. A sinister expression slowly crept onto his face.

Seeing Wang Yun’s eerie smile and intense stare, the young officer and Qian Jun were momentarily startled and couldn’t help but ask, “Expert Sun, what’s this about?”

“It’s nothing really. You can’t be blamed for this. It’s mainly because my disguise was just too convincing,” Wang Yun said with a light chuckle, revealing the silencer-equipped pistol he had obtained from Hu Sanqing.

With two muted shots, red dots appeared on Qian Jun and the young officer’s chests. Without hesitation, Wang Yun swiftly fired at Cen Ciya and the other two murderers.

“This? What’s this?”

Qian Jun and the young officer were visibly dazed and speechless, faces etched with shock, as they witnessed the scene unfold.

“You’re already dead. Oh, and here’s a note for you,” Wang Yun said with a slight smile, passing a note that had a single line of text to Qian Jun.

“You are? You’re Wang Yun, you…?”

Qian Jun, with a look of utter disbelief, read the note and then his expression turned bittersweet. He and the young officer exchanged glances, sighed deeply, and collapsed to the ground.

“Goodbye,” Wang Yun uttered calmly

He then opened the door, glanced at the surveillance camera, and proceeded outside.

“So it turns out, we were stationed here by the program team not for training, but to be discovered by Big Brother? Was this a setup to expose him?”

“Damn it, how could anyone have guessed this? Who would have thought that the expert assisting with the case was actually Big Brother in disguise? Even Captain Ying Yuezi was clueless, completely played!”

“Big Brother is just too incredible, too incredible. Ah, the floor feels a bit cold.”

“We’re already cold, let’s not worry about the cold floor anymore, ah!”

From the background, the faint sound of a dead duo’s conversation carried a tone of shock. It seemed like they couldn’t rest in peace, bewildered by the revelation. Who could have guessed that the helpful Expert Sun was actually a fugitive in disguise?

The group of three criminals were flabbergasted about what happened. With red marks on their clothes, they looked at the two police officers on the ground and then at themselves in confusion.

Unobstructed, Wang Yun confidently strode outside.

“Is this for real?”

“Unbelievable!”

“Wow, is this really Big Brother’s welcome ceremony? Killing two program officers and the three murderers just like that?”

“I can’t believe it, is this meant to be a killing blow? We caught the murderer together, and then I killed the murderer again. Hey, I’m just playing around, is this a provocation?”

“How will Captain Ying Yuezi react to this? Wow, Big Brother’s welcome ceremony must be a massive blow to her!”

“Captain Ying Yuezi got slapped in the face by Big Brother before she even officially joined the program’s task force? Isn’t this a bit too soon?”

“Hahaha, it must be because Captain Ying Yuezi said she would arrest Big Brother within three days. She angered him. Otherwise, I guess Big Brother wouldn’t have revealed his identity with such a welcome ceremony!”

As Wang Yun left in a taxi, the entire livestream erupted into excitement. His move was unbelievably audacious and crazy.

Disguising as a fake expert, he entered the interrogation room and killed two officers and three murderers. This was an ultimate insult to Captain Ying Yuezi. It was as if he was saying: You’re trying to catch me? You don’t even know that I’m killing your people right under your nose.

Such blatant humiliation.

Meanwhile, outside the Jiujiang Skyline Five-Star Hotel, Ying Yuezi and several officers walked out. Zhao Zhongyuan and his wife were also nearby. No one knew yet about the incident inside the police station.

“It’s exactly as Captain Ying Yuezi said, there are more murderers beyond those three. Captain Ying Yuezi, you’re incredible. Who would have thought that Cen Ciya and the other murderers would collectively conceal the final culprit and take on all the blame?” an officer, admiring Captain Ying Yuezi’s prowess, couldn’t help but exclaim in awe.

“Indeed, we owe a lot to Captain Ying Yuezi this time. We almost let the murderer escape scot-free,” Zhao Zhongyuan also expressed his gratitude.

“Uncovering the whole truth is our duty,” Captain Ying Yuezi said, then analytically added, “The fourth culprit isn’t hard to find. He must be associated with the Jiujiang Skyline Five-Star Hotel. Somehow, he convinced Cen Ciya and the others to take all the blame, likely promising them something substantial, probably money. The fourth culprit must be a wealthy individual.”

“Captain Ying Yuezi, we just need to investigate a bit more and question those three again to find out,” one officer said optimistically. “The fourth murderer shouldn’t be hard to track down.”

Ying Yuezi nodded, then suddenly asked, “Right, where did Expert Sun go? I haven’t seen him around.”

“We’re not sure either. Expert Sun suddenly disappeared. He might have left thinking the case was resolved,” another officer guessed.

“It’s a shame that Expert Sun left so suddenly, we didn’t get to see who was better,” Ying Yuezi lamented.

The officer laughed, “Expert Sun probably thought the case was completely closed. Technically, Captain Ying Yuezi, you’ve already won.”

“I also think Captain Ying Yuezi won. Who would have guessed about a fourth murderer? Expert Sun probably didn’t anticipate that,” another officer added, admiringly. “After all, the three confessed and took all the blame. Not everyone is as astute and detailed as Captain Ying Yuezi.”

Ying Yuezi, listening to their praise, didn’t show any signs of arrogance but simply nodded in acknowledgment. In her view, these praises weren’t significant. She had heard them far too often.

What she didn’t know at the moment was that her live broadcast was filled with question marks.

Ying Yuezi and her team quickly returned to the police station, heading straight for the interrogation room.

“Huh? Why isn’t the interrogation room door locked?” one of the officers noticed the unlocked door and was momentarily puzzled.

Upon opening the door, he was greeted with a shocking sight. Two people were lying inside, gazing up at them.

“What are you doing?” an officer asked, somewhat perplexed.

“We’re already dead. We were shot in the chest. Also, the three murderers are dead too,” Qian Jun explained, pointing to the marks on his chest.

“Dead?”

The officers were momentarily stunned. They exchanged glances, then turned their attention to Captain Ying Yuezi, “Captain, these two are program officers.”

“Program officers?” Ying Yuezi, surprised, closely examined the wounds on them, her brow furrowing in confusion.

“What exactly happened here?” she asked, her frown deepening.

“Captain Ying Yuezi, this note was left by the person who killed us,” Qian Jun said, handing her the note.

Ying Yuezi quickly took the note. It read: “Welcome! Captain Ying Yuezi, welcome to the Skynet Operation Program. On behalf of all program officers and captains, we’re glad to have you join us.” Signed ‘Wang Yun’, it also included a teasing remark, “Don’t catch me, use a tourniquet!”

Upon reading the note, Ying Yuezi was utterly dumbfounded.

Ying Yuezi’s expression shifted dramatically as she turned her sharp gaze to the police officer beside her.

“I want to see the surveillance footage from this room.”

“All right,” the officers responded.

They were aware of some aspects of the situation but maintained silence for fairness. They quickly led her to the surveillance room.

“Check the footage of the two program officers’ deaths,” Ying Yuezi commanded icily, her face etched with displeasure.

The officers began searching through the surveillance tapes. Footage from just ten minutes earlier came into view. It showed Wang Yun and the two deceased program officers entering the interrogation room. In the final moments, only Wang Yun was seen exiting the room, his mouth curved into a taunting smile as he looked directly into the camera.

“Sun… Expert Sun!”

Recognizing the face on the screen, Ying Yuezi’s complexion shifted drastically. Shock filled her beautiful eyes, soon followed by a mix of embarrassment and rapid breaths.

“He’s Wang Yun, disguised as someone else!” she exclaimed, trembling with disbelief.

The ‘Expert Sun’ who had worked alongside her to solve the case was actually Wang Yun, the very fugitive she was tasked with capturing in the Skynet Operation program. Her face darkened, feeling as if she had been slapped in the face. Now…

“He’s mocking me, humiliating me!”

She clenched the paper tightly in her hand, then unfolded it again to look. It was a scathing mockery, a grand irony. A fugitive had welcomed her to the program in place of the program officers.

Moreover, she was welcomed in such a manner, with the death of two program officers. It was an ultimate act of humiliation and scorn.

***

“Poor Captain Ying Yuezi, she got roughed up by Big Brother even before joining the program task force!”

“Maybe she was too overconfident, which angered Big Brother. He sacrificed an identity just to provoke and humiliate her.”

“666! ‘Don’t catch me, use a tourniquet’, really? Captain Ying Yuezi must be utterly confused now. Big Brother is so cunning, leaving such a note. A fugitive welcoming a program captain to join the team, seriously?”

“Isn’t Big Brother a bit too audacious? He took down a new program captain’s apprentice yesterday, and today he savagely humiliated Captain Ying Yuezi. She’s really unfortunate!”

“Don’t feel down, Captain Ying Yuezi. Big Brother is just a beast. Come here, let me give you a hug!”

At this moment, despite the audience already guessing the scenario, they couldn’t help but laugh upon seeing Captain Ying Yuezi’s stunned reaction to the note. Of course, many viewers also expressed sympathy for Captain Ying Yuezi and lamented her misfortune, wishing they could comfort her themselves. Each one fantasized about being her savior.

“Is this the fugitive Wang Yun?”

Captain Ying Yuezi stood there silently, taking deep breaths. A fugitive who stood right in front of her and yet remained unnoticed. A fugitive capable of confronting her directly.
