Chapter 188: Conclusion
Chapter 188: Conclusion
Regarding the moon thrall’s child, Tian Yuan defined it as "a person who can still retain their consciousness even after being infected by moon thralls."
However, Gu Nan had proved through hundreds of experiments that infection only occurred after death, so there was only one possibility for this definition to be established.
Someone can regain consciousness after being infected.
From the moment he saw Big Brother, Gu Nan had already guessed this—no matter how shallow Big Brother’s intelligence was, it was still intelligence. Since Big Brother had intelligence, then what about the people infected by him?
But unfortunately, in Gu Nan's previous experiments, Big Brother seemed to have lost the ability to infect humans.
It wasn’t until all the moon thrall kings finished fusing together and Gu Zhaoyue displayed extremely high intelligence that Gu Nan’s hope was rekindled.
On the other hand, Tian Tian’s existence was something he had suspicions about since long ago.
Professor Tian Yuan was a moon thrall himself; Tian Tian couldn’t possibly be his biological daughter, so why did he adopt a human daughter?
Gu Nan didn't believe a flimsy excuse like how Tian Yuan was trying to "hide his identity” and blend into human society. The biggest possibility was that Tian Tian herself had a very important role to play.
Tian Yuan had discovered her a long time ago and didn't want her to fall into other people’s hands, so he simply adopted her himself.
And Tian Yuan already harbored doubts about the existence of the moon thrall’s child since long ago. If Gu Nan knew this, he’d be much more certain of his own judgment.
When Gu Nan placed Tian Tian in the lab and intentionally allowed Big Brother to come into contact with her, the speculation in his heart became more certain.
Tian Tian's special physique was probably a very simple one—it could make the moon thrall king feel affection towards her.
Gu Nan stood where he was. All his previous speculations flashed through his mind for an instant. His eyes were indifferent, waiting for the situation to develop.
Big Brother was holding Tian Tian's body, dazed and speechless.
Moments later, just as Gu Nan started to get impatient and wonder if the king of the moon thralls had also lost his infection ability, Big Brother finally moved.
He squeezed out a drop of blood from between his eyes, and it gently dripped onto the wound on Tian Tian's neck.
A strong heartbeat sounded, and a rosy color soon returned to Tian Tian's face, while Big Brother's face turned extremely pale.
Moments later, Tian Tian started waking up.
Her eyes were a little vacant and bewildered, but it was obvious that she still retained her intelligence.
Lin Duo, who was on the side, finally regained some sanity. She stared at Tian Tian's appearance and wondered, "Tian Tian, how… are you feeling?"
Tian Tian turned her head woodenly, glanced at Lin Duo, and then looked down at her hands. "I-I don't know either."
"You accepted the moon thrall king’s origin; you’re a moon thrall now," the sun spirit suddenly explained.
"Ah?! I became a moon thrall?" Tian Tian suddenly exclaimed. She never thought that she’d become a moon thrall after what seemed like a short nap.
"Don't worry." The moon spirit sighed slightly. "If you have the origin of the king of the moon thralls, you can command all the moon thralls on the continent… It turns out that the one who will end the moon thrall disaster is you."
She then turned to look at Lin Duo again. "Our ancestor said that our contractor is the key to ending the moon thrall calamity. Is this what our ancestor meant?"
If it wasn't to save Lin Duo, then Tian Tian wouldn't have run up to the moon thrall king, and the subsequent events wouldn’t have transpired.
"Can I… Can I really do it?" Tian Tian wasn’t too confident in herself. She turned to look at Big Brother, but the latter just showed a weak smile.
"Of course!" The moon spirit flatly replied, "As long as you can gather the moon thralls together or order them to stop attacking humans… Eh?"
Before she could finish her "beautiful wish," a black sword flew out without hesitation, piercing Tian Tian's forehead.
The scene suddenly quieted down. Lin Duo was shocked, the sun and moon spirits were shocked, and Big Brother stared at Gu Nan blankly.
Just like that, Tian Tian, humanity’s last hope and the one who possessed the moon thrall’s origin, was instantly killed by Gu Nan.

The Evil God Temple shook continuously, and a series of notifications flowed out of it. Everything went as expected by Gu Nan. Tian Tian, who was given the origin by the moon thrall king, was the true moon thrall’s child.
And only then did Gu Nan finally understand the correct way to clear this dungeon.
Actually, he didn’t need to do so much at all. As long as he looked on as a bystander from the very beginning, the moon thrall’s child would naturally appear!
Gu Nan's interference of the original plot actually started with killing Tian Yuan.
If Tian Yuan didn’t die, then there would be no apocalypse at all, and the chaos in the continent would be controllable.
The moon fruits would still appear as usual, and Tian Yuan would most likely obtain the fruits. After Tian Yuan finished cultivating the moon thrall king in the research lab, he would naturally find a way to extract the origin from the moon thrall king.
He had even prepared the vessel named Tian Tian in advance. Why wouldn’t he do it?
So Gu Nan actually only needed to wait until the time was right, then kill Tian Tian.
Of course, if he did that, then his side story development rating would be very low, and the Evil Value obtained wouldn’t be as high as 115, which caused his total Evil Value to reach 440 in one fell swoop.
Anyhow, the Morningstar Plane’s mission could be said to have come to a successful conclusion… Although this conclusion might be a little different from what the world’s will wanted.
If the world’s will really was sentient, then it probably would’ve killed Gu Nan with a thunderbolt a long time ago.
Because it wasn’t a dungeon produced by the Evil God Temple but an external mission that the Evil God Temple incorporated, Gu Nan couldn’t choose to return immediately. His body still remained in the Morningstar Plane.
"Then, everyone, it's time for me to leave," Gu Nan, who was in a good mood, said goodbye to Lin Duo and the others.
The sun and moon spirits were speechless. All hopes of saving the continent were destroyed right in front of them, which also meant that their mission couldn’t be completed.
From now on, this continent was destined to suffer untold miseries, and it would take at least decades for humans to completely eradicate the moon thralls.
Lin Duo, however, seemed to have matured quickly after being hit by the death of her sister and the loss of her best friend.
She stood up and said, "Little Yue said her ancestor predicted that the key to eliminating the moon thrall disaster was me… I understand now. If I had died earlier, you would’ve disappeared, right?"
No trace of immaturity could be seen on Lin Duo’s face. There was only unspeakable sadness.
In her heart, it was precisely her act of summoning Gu Nan that killed her sister and Tian Tian, and caused chaos and brought about the apocalypse.
"So you want to kill yourself to banish me?" Gu Nan asked with great interest.
"No!" Lin Duo angrily replied, "You’ve already achieved your goal. Don't tell me you still want to leave so easily? I will live well so that you—"
Gu Nan’s sword pierced her chest.
The next moment, as Lin Duo's life was cut short, Gu Nan's body began to blur and pull away from the Morningstar Plane.
"If you won’t commit suicide, then what did you prattle on for?" Just before he left, Gu Nan looked at her strangely.
