The demon glanced at the area around him, then exhaled deeply, for he knew that something was not right around them and so did Nessa, even though she couldn't figure out what it was at the time.

Nessa glance at the demon, whom she noticed was distracted and the music began playing louder then she lowered her gaze and he began moving and she followed his steps.

"You really aren't used to these kinds of things, are you?" He asked and she looked up at him then sighed and he smiled slightly.

"I guess there is a lot more to you that I don't know, beyond the image of a leader," He said and she scoffed.

"And you as well," She replied and he tilted his head a little to the right.

"There is not much to me you know, I am a demon after all," He said and she chuckled.

"And who says demons doesn't have another side?" She asked and his brows furrowed as he remembered something that his friend once said to him and his eyes narrowed.

"You are very hopeful, aren't you?" He asked.

"As a leader I have to be, I have to make the impossible possible, don't I?" She asked and he chuckled as he spun her around then released her hand and she bumped into someone.

Her eyes widened as the person held onto her hand and the demon glanced at him as he smiled at Nessa.

"Sorry, miss," He said

The guy was about to place his hand on her waist to dance with her, but she grabbed onto his hand and he glanced at her with his eyes narrowed and saw a piercing look in her eyes, for Nessa was not one to let her guard down, no matter who it was and where she was.

"It was my fault, I am sorry as well," She replied as he held her hand and danced with her, the demon scoffed when he saw, for he recognized him to be someone important.

Just as he spun Nessa around, the demon took her hand and continued dancing with her and the person chuckled then went to join a few people, who were all in a small group at the ball.

"That felt a little bit weird," She said.

"I could tell and I know that you are not one to not be careful, but I am still going to tell you, be a little more careful around certain people," He said as the light passed him and she got a slight glimpse at his eyes and she smiled.

"I know, I will keep it in mind," She replied and he sighed.

'What the hell will become of this situation? I wonder what lies ahead of her path, that can't be figured out but it will be with a lot of difficulty and they may become a problem, sooner or later, if need be, I will handle it myself,' He thought.

"You keep glancing at the council members, I am not weak, demon, I can handle myself, I will deal with whatever problem that comes my way, no matter what, I know a lot of people will want to try things and may be against it, but I don't care and I am not going to ask for anyone's permission," She said and a smirk appeared on her face.

"We are the same in that area, things may start taking a turn now, he showed up as well, to see what development has been made," He replied.

"He? Who?" She asked and he glanced at the one she had just bumped into.

"What are you saying?" She asked.

"You will see for yourself, leave it to the princess, she will do her part, after all, she does consider you a very dear friend," He responded and she smiled at him as they continued dancing.

A little while after, when they finished dancing, Nessa exhaled deeply and the demon glanced at her then handed her a glass of wine and she collected it before thanking him.

"I don't enjoy dancing that much, it's too tiring and I definitely don't like some of the switching parts in some of them," She complained and he chuckled.

"I know how that feels, tell me, if something is to happen while you are away, are they strong enough to defend your city?" He asked.

After hearing his question, she stopped walking, knowing very much why he asked it and she glanced back at him and he looked at her as a few thoughts came to her mind.

"They are strong enough, it won't be good for anyone who underestimates them, especially when some of them seek perfection in their abilities and is willing to push themselves to the limit to find out how far they can really go," She responded.

"With a leader like you, that's easy to believe, the enemies like being sneaky and do things out of the ordinary to those that they are against, which is why I asked," He said and she sighed.

"I know, I will teach them a good lesson as well, there is just much to do right now, also there is another thing or concern to me," She replied.

But before he could say anything to her, Mikala called out to her and she turned towards the girl, wondering what it was that she wanted.

"Can you come over here for a moment, please?" She asked and Nessa nodded then went to the girl and the demon tagged along as well.

"What is it, princess?" Nessa asked.

"I would like you to meet a very important person," She responded and the demon glanced at her.

"Who is it?" She asked and Mikala grabbed her hand and took her forward.

"Him," She responded as she pointed to someone and Nessa looked at the person.

That's when she noticed, it was the next person that danced with her, the very one she bumped into.

"He is the leader of the council," Mikala said and Nessa looked at him and he smiled at her then waved and her eyes narrowed.
