Chapter 115: Lady Anna

Chapter 115: Lady Anna

Lady Temperance moved her face and looked towards the sky.

“The Sage has a few words to say about the graveyard of the fallen civilization. First off, he wants you to go there. Secondly, he detected a huge amount of misfortune and fortune in that place, meaning the chance of encountering danger and treasure in that place is extremely high. The sage also said if you feel something is off or you think it’s too dangerous to explore, then retreat, or else the chances of you making it out alive will be uncertain.”

“I will follow his instruction word to word.” Theo nodded his head.

“Lastly, he commands you to return alive.”

Theo closed his eyes for a brief moment before opening them wide; one twinkled in the hue of gold; the other had an emerald hue jumping up and down in it.

“I will!”

“I look forward to seeing you next time.”

An instant after saying those words, lady Temperance used her blood to sign the contract and then walked away, her hips swaying to the left and the right with each of her steps. The lust blinded eyes of the men and the flowing with jealousy eyes of the women were attracted to her waist, subconsciously and consciously.

She gave it over to instructor Leonardo, who couldn’t help but think that the beauty in front of him was perfect from head to toe.

“I have signed the agreement, please take a look at it to make sure of it.” Lady Temperance said, her voice so pleasant that it could melt the hardest of heart and seduce the gayest of men.

The men who heard her voice were affected, including the instructor.

“Ahem!” Instructor Leonardo cleared his throat and kicked all kinds of ill thoughts out of his mind. After all, he was totally loyal to his wife.

He checked the magic contract, and after making sure that Theo’s guardian had signed it, he closed it.

“Miss, not to be rude, but are you truly his guardian?” He suddenly asked a question that the headmaster told him to ask Theo’s guardian.

He suddenly asked a question that the headmaster told him to ask Theo’s guardian.

The Headmaster felt that things were fishy. The agent from the association had found Theo in the forest. He had no relatives, but one suddenly appeared after many years and gained rights to be his guardian. Of course, it made him suspicious of her intention.

“Yes, he is my long-lost brother.” Lady Temperance replied in a calm, unshaken voice.

“Why was he left alone in the wilderness?” Leonard said, “You don’t need to answer if you don’t want to.”

Not giving him an answer meant arousing his suspicion, so how could she not answer?

“An accident forced us to part ways. As you already know, the association took him away. I have been looking for him ever since. It’s only been a few weeks since I found out that he was in this city. After I dealt with the legal matters and proved myself as his relative, the association granted me the right to act as his guardian. Though, why are you asking all these questions? Did my little brother do something wrong?” She acted like a worried little rabbit, causing the men and the instructor to feel the need to protect her.

“No, no, absolutely not.” Instructor Leonard said in a hurry.

“Then, I will excuse myself.”

Lady Temperance walked away from the arena, going straight out of the Emerald Mountain.

“Did your guardian agree?” Theo asked.

Seeing the beaming happiness on Theo’s face, Elliot believed that something good has happened to him.

“Yeah, he did. Yours too, I suppose from the happiness on your face.”

“What about John? Where is he?” Theo asked.

“Right there,” Elliot said, pointing at the edge of the arena, where he could see a lady wearing a purple dress that covered her body and revealed only one of her smooth, sexy legs with caramel skin talking to John.

“That’s enough! I don’t want to hear a single more word coming out of your mouth! You’re not going there, and that’s final.”

“Mom! I won’t die. I can fight for myself. Why can’t you trust me?” John said in a desperate voice. He wasn’t unable to understand why his mother is being so stubborn in letting him go and make a name for himself.

“With what?” His mother, Lady Anna suddenly said.

“Huh?” John’s eyebrows raised.

“What, what?”

“Are you going to use your lousy martial arts to defeat the monsters? Do you think your tiny limbs are fast enough to reach them before their claws rip yours apart? You’ll die before doing anything to them. I don’t want you to die. Can’t you see I’m worried?”

The man she loved had already died. John was her only son, and she hated him as much as she loved him. If he wasn’t born, then she would still be the respectable lady of the Crimson Family, after all. But he was her only son, the only proof the man she loves left to her. Losing him meant losing her world.

“I am not going to use my fist, mom.” John breathed out, feeling frustrated due to dealing with his hypersensitive mother. “Were you even listening to me?”

“What are you going to use then?” She looked at him sternly, a gaze that said that she was ready to force him into agreeing with her if his answer doesn’t satisfy her.

John showed her the artifact that Elliot recommended for him to his mother.

“What is this?”

“This artifact can create and shoot out powerful bullets that can harm even demonic monsters. Mom, I can use this to protect myself. If things get dangerous, then I will use the life-saving item. I promise. So please give your consent.”

Instead of hearing what he wanted to hear, John heard something entirely different.

John’s mother said, “Where did you get that? Did you steal it?”

John was so taken aback that he didn’t even manage to roll his eyes at him.

Suddenly, a voice came from behind him.

“No, he won it.” Elliot stepped towards them,

“My useless son did?”

“He truly did,” Theo said.

“So mom?” John asked while looking at Lady Anna with expectations glittering in his eyes.

“I will allow you to go, but if you don’t return in a month, I will take my life.” Lady Anna said without a single hint of hesitation in her eyes.

John knew she wasn’t joking about it. Although she never helped him, she did give him as much allowance as he wants, never letting him experience what it means to have no money. She also cooked meals for him and took care of him when he was sick. Though, she didn’t do anything to help him when he was being abused.

He liked her, but at the same time, didn’t.

Of course, he liked her more than he didn’t, and he didn’t want her to die.

However, he wanted to explore the newly discovered settlement as he believed that the way for a hollow to awaken lies in that place.

“I will return within a month, I promise.”

“And we will make sure of that!”

“So, aunty, you don’t need to worry about him.”

“We got his back.”

Lady Anna reluctantly agreed.

The guilt that arose in her heart of given consent to sending her son to a place where he could die was enough to haunt her to commit suicide if he truly dies.
