Chapter 166: Lucy Love Conviction(b)
“You know that person very well,” Elliot said with a mysterious smile on his face.
“It can’t be my parents because they died when I was still a child, so that means it must be one of my siblings,” Lucy said her thoughts out loud, a thoughtful look appearing on her face. Her brother wasn’t a kind soul, and he was too arrogant, prideful, and strong to interact with anyone below a lord of magic. So that leaves only her sister in the equation. Her sister was kind and strong and also the person who single-handedly raised her.
“Is it my elder sister?” She said after pondering for some moments.
Elliot gave her a nod, silently agreeing with her words.
“What’s your relation with her?”
“Should we be talking about that?”
“Oh right!” Lucy pointed at Oliver and Arthur before saying, “Can you please do me a favor and let them go?”
“Sure,” Elliot nodded, then suddenly placed his index finger on her temple, saying the following words right after, “but you must pay a hefty price for it.”
How could Oliver and Arthur remain silent even now and let a young lady sacrifice herself for them?!
“Don’t agree to it! Who knows what he might ask you to do!”
“We don’t want you to shoulder our troubles.”
Pressed against time and wanting to save her friends, Lucy didn’t even consider that he might for her first time or something even worse and immediately gave her consent. “They had been protecting us from the moment we came to this place. If there’s a way, then I am willing to do everything to save them.”
Elliot snapped his fingers, and the rings binding Oliver and Arthur changed into waves of energy on the spot.
Although they were now no longer at his mercy and had also regained their freedom, there was not a single sign of joy in their eyes. Lucy ran to them and checked on them, and after making sure that they were fine, she breathed a sigh of relief. They exchanged a few words, and Elliot let them talk to each other. The both of them thanked their lucky stars and looked at Lucy with eyes flushed in gratefulness but also guilt.
“Sorry,” Arthur said.
“Because of us, you landed yourself in trouble,” Oliver said, guilt tainting the edges of his heroic voice.
“I did so willingly,” Lucy said these words so that they would stop feeling guilty. “And personally, I don’t think he is a bad guy. Different for sure, almost indifferent to life, but not bad.”
Through the few exchanges she had with Elliot, Lucy determined that he wasn’t one to care about lives, but he was one to care about ties. If he was a bad person, there’s no way he would have saved her. But he did!
Then, she walked back to Elliot, who was using the ink of promise to write something on three magic contracts at the same time.
Standing next to him, she looked straight at him and asked, “What’s the price that I need to pay?”
Elliot didn’t give her a response, not until he finished writing what he wanted to on the magic contracts.
“That’s something you ask before making a deal,” Elliot said jokingly, almost tauntingly.
Lucy wasn’t put off by his behavior and kept on looking at him.
A moment of intense pondering later, Elliot raised four of his finger and one of his thumbs. “Five things, that’s all you need to do for me to pay off your debts.”
Only five things? She didn’t think much of it and asked what they were.
“Alright, I am willing to do them!”
Elliot chuckled. He hadn’t even said a word, yet she had already agreed. Was she a fool, or did she not consider him a threat?
“Firstly, take them back. I have no intention of robbing the sister of my benefactor.” Elliot handed over her spatial storage devices back to her.
“Thank you! As I thought, you’re a good guy.” She was surprised by his actions, but she took them with a smile and even went as far as thanking the robber for returning her items to her.
Elliot believed that even if someone kidnaps and her sells her to a human trafficker, she would still happily and ignorantly count the price of her flesh for him, not realizing till the very last moment that the person she trusted had sold her in exchange for wealth.
“Secondly, you and they must sign this agreement.” Elliot gave the three magic contracts to her.
“If it’s a slave contract, then forget about it.”
Oliver’s voice sounded from behind them.
“Yeah, our decision will never change.
Elliot shot them a sharp glare.
“If I hear a single word coming out of your mouths again, I will kill both of you.”
Without saying a word, Lucy opened one of them and started reading the things mentioned inside of it.
“An agreement to remain silent about what transpired here? Is that all?”
Elliot closed his eyes for a brief moment before opening them, “You must sign it and also get those fools to sign it. That’s the second thing you need to do for me.”
Lucy signed it immediately and then went up to Oliver and Arthur, told them about the lax rules of the contract, and asked them to sign it. They found it hard to believe their words, but after they went through the contract by themselves, their doubts vanished into thin air.
Julian, Tia, and the four magicians from the Regis family looked surprised, and in their hearts, they deeply regretted signing the magic contract! If they had waited for a few more minutes, then they wouldn’t have become Elliot’s slaves.
However, now it was already too late, and they could only cry over the spilled milk, regret to the very end of their lives.
“Here you go,” Lucy said as she handed over the magic contracts to him.
Elliot stored them in his subspace before looking over Lucy and at the eight people behind her.
“Come over here.”
