Chapter 222 - A Tale Of A Man's Middle Finger (a)
Tyler had already lost his sanity when the ritual began, so he couldn't even feel the tremendous change taking place inside of his body.
He was becoming dozens, if not hundreds of times more powerful than before!
If he could feel what was happening, he would've laughed at the top of his lungs as he would've thought that there was no way Elliot would be able to survive against such a powerful version of his body.
As his strength increased, Tyler's body continued to inflate, going from the size of the boulder to the size of a whole mountain! He had become so big that even the strongest monsters looked like babies in front of him. Heck, even Grace only reached his knees. Elliot, on the other hand, was as small as its toe!
Although he was nothing more than a bug when compared to the basilisk version of Tyler, and even the titan's fart could squash him, there was not a single hint of worry in his eyes.
"Hurry up and bring it on."
While saying those words ever so arrogantly, Elliot raised his head ever so gracefully to take a glance at the monster that Tyler had become. In his bright eyes, the figure of a giant with gray and red patterns all over it got reflected. It was standing tall and might in between heaven and earth. It's shoulder wide enough to support the crumbling skies and its strength great enough to destroy the entire land.
Hearing his words, the still titan smiled and looked down at him.
Before it could say anything, Elliot added, "To prove how gracious I am, I will let you make you the first move."
At the same time, he extended a middle finger towards the giant that was no longer Tyler but the avatar of the serpentine devil.
Killing it would be the same as ripping out a part of its flesh; the same goes for hurting it.
Elliot wanted to do both, and he also wanted to do it in an overbearing and insulting manner.
"I will only use my middle finger to block your attack!"
His mighty finger was pointing towards the sky, sticking out like a sore loser in a crowd of cool guys.
The expression of the titan instantly twisted, calmness and joy replaced with a desire to kill.
Elliot's words were a slap to its face, and it desired nothing more than to squish this ant in the worst way possible.
"Who said that I am even going to allow you to use even a single part of your body to defend against my attack?! You think too highly of yourself, little ant!"
The titan had just finished saying its words when Elliot saw its eyes turning red.
No!
It was bleeding!
"On my existence as the great serpent of madness and the master of destruction, I curse you to become the target of my ire and strip you, a mere mortal, from your rights to control your body as you like."
As it said those words, devilish chimes rang in the eternal snow zone. Darkness enveloped everything as black clouds swirled above many heads, making them feel that doom was about to descend. The two eyes of the titan appeared to look like magnificence moons hanging in the air. And out of them, four drops of massive blood drop seeped out. The moment they came in contact with oxygen, they evaporated, turning into a crimson mist that permeated the fabric of reality itself.
"W-what the hell?!
"Why have I lost control of my body?!"
"It's not only you but also us."
"It's probably because of that titan."
"Even if it's huge, how can it freeze all of us with a single move? That's too broken."
"What a cheat!"
Many living beings started to lose control of their body. Like, everyone present in the eternal snow zone fell to the ground as the power of the serpentine devil forced them into a prostrating position. Grace, too, descended from the sky. However, before she could crash headfirst with the ground, a shield carrying holy brilliance took shape beneath her, halting her fall.
"Are you alright?" Lucy asked after saving Grace and herself from getting hurt. Although she could not use her body, she could still move the magic energy present in her body to release her supernatural ability.
"Yes, thank you," Grace replied.
"Thank God, you're not hurt," Lucy said.
Both the girls were calm, but their guts were churning with worry internally.
They were affected even though they were so far away from the titan. Then, what about Elliot?! He wouldn't have lost his consciousness, right?!
[You've angered the serpentine devil.]
[The serpentine devil has burned its essence blood to launch a curse at you.]
The eternal shield was no longer in mid-air.
All the attacks could reach him now, including curses.
[You failed to block the curse.]
Elliot had no intention of blocking it; that's the only reason why he failed to flip it to the other side.
[You have lost control of your body.]
"Hmm?" Elliot's eyebrows raised. A bit surprised he was as he had never felt this feeling of being hopeless before. He felt as if he was nothing more than a chicken on a plate that was about to get butchered! Of course, he knew that that wasn't true. He wasn't worried either. It's because he didn't need to move to defend against whatever it throws at him.
A single thought, a single moment, a single will, that was all he needed.
The onlookers were staring at the projection unblinkingly. Elliot's figure seemed to have gotten frozen into a statue. However, something felt off. Yes, it was that middle finger raised above his head, which was still pointing at the arrogant titan!
That middle finger truly brought disaster upon Elliot's head!
"You're about to die. Any last words?!" The devilish titan shouted out loud as darkness and redness swirled out of one of its hands, condensing into a black pole with a sharp and pointed triangular crimson end.
Elliot silently stared up ahead.
He couldn't even move his mouth, so how could he utter a word?
