Chapter 296 - Plans!
Chapter 296 - Plans!
While many families of the magician community were busy picking up artifacts, packing them, and sending them towards the doors of Elliot, the person in question was having a drink with Theo and instructor Leonardo.
"How did you guys charge so much?" Instructor Leonardo asked curiously. The elders were equally curious about the reason why they had grown up so much in merely three days.
"You want to explain it?" Theo asked Elliot.
Elliot shook his head, indicating he didn't want to do the explaining. "My throat is dry after that big ass intimidation speech, so you speak."
In truth, he just didn't want to stop drinking wine. Theo could tell that, but he didn't point it out or scold him. It's because he was very willing to share responsibility. He started explaining much of what he had experienced in the ancient settlement of the soul race. Theo left some things unsaid, such as how he was a half-elf. After listening to his words, the situation became clearer to instructor Leonardo and the elders, who were all part of the resistance.
"So you guys have also become a part of the resistance. Congratulations! You guys are my juniors from now on. If you need any help, hit me up." Instructor Leonardo said to them with a big smile. He was happy because now he no longer needed to come up with a scheme to invite Eliot over to his side.
Theo wasn't surprised as he always knew that Leonardo was a resistance member. Elliot was a guy who liked surprises and loved to show his feeling on his face, but even after learning that his so-called craft instructor was a resistor, his face remained as calm as a still ocean. Why was he so quiet? It's because the godly right eye of wisdom had long exposed the truth of his instructor to him.
"Congratulations for becoming resistors, Lord Theo Rose, Lord Elliot."
The four elders could tell that these young men were stronger than them, so they didn't hold back on formalities.
"Thank you, everyone," Theo replied politely.
It was at this moment that Elliot placed down his cup, producing a slight thud. The cup was empty, but the sound echoed. Everyone's eyes turned towards him. They saw a serious look on his face. It seemed like what he was about to say would be important.
"Enough with the pleasantries," Elliot said as he raised his eyelids and looked at them. "Let's start the real talk."
The resistance didn't have an ethnicity, nor did it have any limitations on races that could join it. It was an organization built on a single ideal, defeat the warmongering race that was the demonic gods. Their purpose was to stop them from expanding, attack their territories and conquer them, and stop them from invading other worlds. Planet Earth was a part of the demonic gods' expansion scheme, and the one leading this expedition was the serpentine devil.
The serpentine devil started the operation by opening connecting the planets under its rule with Earth with the help of doorways. After passing through them, Monsters invaded Earth and wreaked havoc everywhere. Later on, many things happened, and the present situation came to be where humans resided safely on Planet Xavier and also on Earth. But on Earth, they lived in secure domed-shaped moving cities with eight or sixteen gigantic spider-like legs. Beasts occupied most of the land on Earth. They had many kingdoms called the Monster Kingdom. The center of each Monster Kingdom had a doorway. The doorways were absorbing magic power and mana to strengthen themselves. Once they enhance themselves seven beasts, emperors can use it to invade earth. Eight times would make it possible for Beyond Emperor to invade Earth, meaning the serpentine devil would be able to visit Earth with his hoes and bros.
"I don't want that to happen," Elliot stated as his squinted eyes revealed a deep and thoughtful look.
"It's good that you're exceptionally powerful and also not a dumbass." Instructor Leonardo praised the young fox.
"I don't quite follow." Said one of the four elders.
Theo spoke up before anyone could say anything, "There are two things you need to understand. The first is that making our world a battlefield will only hurt us. We can not let them come here as the fight at the Beyond Emperor level is devastating enough to destroy a continent.
"The second is that Elliot can defeat the serpentine devil himself, but who can guarantee it will come alone and not along with several demonic gods? I can take on one, but what about the remaining ten or so? What if ten or so demonic gods come with it? Who will defeat them? We will have to give up Earth! That's why we can't let the doorways advance to the eighth stage."
A deep frown appeared in the middles of the forehead of two elders. The Magic Emperors, the resistance members, and they combined were powerful enough only to stop a few of them but not more than four, and even that was a rough estimate.
"Well said," Elliot said to Theo. He wanted to say the same thing. But now, since Theo had said it, Elliot was saved from the trouble of listing it out.
"What are your plans?" Instructor Leonard asked while looking at Elliot
"Ten years later, four doorways will reach the eighth stage, but that's only if the monsters and the followers of the serpentine devil don't use artificial means. As far as I know, those obnoxious brats love their god so much that they would do everything in their power to hasten the doorway upgrading process." Elliot revealed two fingers. "So, we only have this long left."
"2 years?"
"It could be 2 years, or it could be 20 to only 2 months. It depends on how much energy resources the beasts and serpentine devil have, and I think none of us even have a rough estimate of that, right?"
Instructor Leonardo and the elders scratched the back of their heads. They embarrassedly said, "We've some spies acting as the followers of the serpentine devil, but they haven't managed to find out their real headquarters or resource points, so we are mostly in the dark."
