Chapter 101 Blood Buff, Reaching the End of the Valley
Chapter 101 Blood Buff, Reaching the End of the Valley
Alex and Alice finally entered the Blood Valley, the air heavy with tension.
His goal was to reach the end and check if his memories about his previous life were right.
If he got everything right, then there was a way to learn an [Art] right now, especially with the [Blood Arts] scroll he had acquired from the shop.
As said before, [Arts] are extremely powerful powers, rivaling top-tier spells and talents, and each one of them could be considered just as strong as an SS-Level talent.
Alex would need this one if he wanted to dominate more than he already did.
Especially when the monsters in the later parts of the game would become so overwhelmingly strong, even Alex's stats would struggle.
The crimson sky loomed overhead, and the ground beneath them seemed to bleed.
A chilling silence hung in the air, broken only by distant rustling.
Monsters stalked the valley, waiting to pounce.
Alex raised his staff, ready. "Undead, arise!" he commanded.
The earth cracked open as skeletons and undead creatures climbed from the ground.
They were many, but not strong enough for what lay ahead. But they would serve as a distraction.
[+80 Skeletons, +13 Grand Skeletons, +4 Bony Knights, +3 Spectral Wraiths]
The undead army surged forward, but almost immediately, the first danger revealed itself.
A swarm of [Blood Bats] descended from the sky, screeching.
Their sharp fangs glinted as they dove at the undead, slashing and tearing.
Alex didn't hesitate. He raised his staff. "Fury of Thunder!"
Three bolts of lightning struck the bats, sending them crashing to the ground.
But the bats weren't finished. They swooped down, even more bloodthirsty than before.
Alex gritted his teeth. "Oblivion Strike!"
With a flash, Alex dashed forward and cut through the bats.
His strikes were swift and deadly, but more bats kept coming.
They dissolved into dust after each hit, but the swarm didn't stop.
His undead were pretty much also useless since the bats were flying, meaning they couldn't reach them.
Before he could catch his breath, a new threat arrived.
[Blood Wolves] charged from the shadows, their glowing red eyes full of rage.
These wolves were massive, bigger than any ordinary wolf, even those of the event around Bell City.
Alex acted quickly, sending spells to stop the assault, but it was impossible to contain them all.
These things were level 300 thanks to the [Blood Moon Buff], and in contrast to the demon attack from before, there was no barrier to protect Alex and Alice.
Alex raised his staff. "Stone Fortress!"
A barrier of stone surged up, protecting Alex from the wolf's charge.
The wolf collided with it, but the stone absorbed the blow.
The undead army had already been overwhelmed.
Skeletons, wraiths, and knights were torn apart by the bloodthirsty wolves.
Only a few Bony Knights and Grand Skeletons remained, but they were quickly outnumbered.
Nonetheless, Alex didn't give up, summoning his undead one after the other as they still managed to land some hits.
"I really need to find a way to enhance their power," Alex muttered. "Alice, get ready."
Alice nodded, her [Mutated Eye of the Spider] necklace glowing as she spotted enemies lurking in the shadows.
She moved to a safer position, watching Alex's back.
Alex raised his staff again. "[Aura of Death]!"
A wave of energy spread, boosting the undead.
Their attacks became sharper, their defenses tougher, and they could now actually defeat the blood beasts.
Alex quickly took advantage, striking the remaining wolves with deadly precision.
They fell one by one.
After the last wolf was slain, Alex took a moment to survey the battlefield.
Most of his army was gone, but it was fine, as a single thought brought hem back.
"That was close," Alex muttered, wiping the sweat from his brow. "But we're not done yet."
[You have slain x12 Blood Spiders (Buffed), gained 302,834 experience points!]
[You have slain x19 Blood Wolves (Buffed), gained 458,183 experience points!]
[Extraction talent activated: +87 Strength, +47 Spirit, +58 Vitality, +Bloody Fang (Epic)]
The next challenge loomed ahead.
In the distance, Alex could see a towering structure—a monument rising from the blood-soaked earth.
His heart raced as he approached.
"This is it," Alex said under his breath.
Alice stayed behind him, not wanting to expose herself.
Her senses were sharp, and she was wary of more dangers.
But Alex didn't hesitate.
He could feel the power of the structure calling to him.
It was the thing he went through all this trouble to get, and he wasn't about to give up.
[You have leveled up to level 110!]
He leveled up in the meantime, but such a small gain wouldn't make Alex jump in joy.
As they drew closer, Alex could see the structure more clearly.
It was a fountain, much like the one in the courtyard of the [Undead Castle], but this one was made of jagged stone and surrounded by a strange, dark aura.
The blood pooling around the altar looked almost alive, writhing and shifting with unnatural movement.
It was the [Fountain of Blood].
He was almost there when Alice stopped him, her eyes narrowing.
"Alex," she whispered, "something's coming."
Alex froze.
The air around them shifted.
The ground trembled beneath their feet, and a figure emerged from the shadows.

It was tall—towering over them—and cloaked in a dark, blood-soaked robe that seemed to float like mist.
Its eyes glowed red, piercing through the darkness.
A wicked smile stretched across its spectral face.
"Do you think you can use the [Fountain of Blood]?" the figure sneered, its voice reverberating in Alex's mind. "No human is worthy of such power."
Alex's grip tightened on his staff. "We'll see about that."
The figure before them was not just any wraith.
It was a [Blood Valley Wraith]—a superior, Tier 5 boss-level creature.
It was the big boss of this secret realm, and also the target of his SSS-Level Hidden Quest.
[Blood Valley Wraith - Superior Boss - Tier 5]
[Level: 225 + 100]
"Oh shit," Alex knew that this was bad, he had never fought a level 325 monsters before, in this life that is, and don't get it twisted, even 25 levels was a massive gap.
Without warning, Alex raised his staff high. "Fire Meteor!"
The sky darkened, and a massive meteor fell, streaking toward the wraith.
The creature raised its hand, disappearing into the shadows with [Shadow Wraith], avoiding the attack.
"What? Did you think monsters couldn't avoid your attacks?" it mocked him, thinking that he was a fool.
But the small human it mocked had already experienced things a thousand times worse than it, so there was little to no chance the boss could scare him.
"Avoid this, then," Alex didn't stop, he shifted his focus. "Fury of Thunder!"
Yet again, as if mocking Alex's attempts, the wraith simply dodged the first strike.
"Foolish human-"
But the thing it didn't realize was that another two were coming.
ZAP! ZAP!
It was hit straight on, taking good damage.
-168,293! -168,293!
"Argh..." the wraith groaned, not expecting that this boy, even though he looked so weak, could be able to use such powerful magic.
But it didn't matter to it, all it needed to do was kill the human, and it would be granted immense rewards by the [God of the Moon], which it could feel was looking at them from above.
"Do you think you can take what is mine?" the wraith took its stance again, focused on stopping Alex from approaching the [Fountain of Blood].
