Saleen had little power left with him for having killed several powerful enemies consecutively and subjugating a fire elemental puppet. His most powerful means at the moment was none other than his family badge, and the level 11 magic spells in his Starline Robe.
However, that power coming from afar made Saleen felt stressed, as it was not exactly something that could be dealt with using level 11 magic spells. He had incredible luck to have left the temple for quite a while, and the enemy had only showed up by then. Things would be very dire otherwise.
The Water Fox sensed that powerful aura as well. She quickly put the other two of Nailisi’s heads in a hurry and flew to the area outside the tower, with Nailisi hoisted with one arm.
Nailisi opened her eyes by then. The power of the pharmaceuticals in her head had been dispelled by divine spells, enabling her to regain clarity. She only smiled lethargically when she saw Saleen, before closing her eyes again.
The Water Fox felt the weight on her arm lessened considerably. Nailisi’s devil form gradually shrunk and returned to her imp form. The Water Fox was startled. Nailisi’s imp form greatly resembled the Water Fox’s own current form.
But then again, it was not the time for hesitation. She followed Saleen into the Magical Element Tower and he activated the magic power furnaces within. The tower shot to the skies immediately.
“Stay back for a bit.” A loud voice enveloped the entire mountainous region in the sky. The area within tens of miles radius was covered by holy light. Saleen lost control of the elements of the tower. If it had not been for the magic power furnaces serving as power sources, the tower would fall to the ground right there and then.
Saleen sighed and slowly brought the tower back down. The location he chose was that deep pool he emerged from. Every floor of the tower was nine meters tall, with the total height of the construct being 216 meters as it had 24 floors. The tower dropped into the pool and disappeared without a trace.
Saleen was in no hurry while inside the tower. The enemy came from the Holy See and the strength of that light surpassed any enemy he had ever encountered. However, regardless of how strong said enemy would be, the limit of their world meant that they would not be strong enough to break the tower’s defenses.
The water puppet was only level nine, which made it considerably difficult for him to man the tower. However, he had a level ten mage grinded for a long time taking on the tower, and still not succeeding in breaking into it.
The difference between level nine and ten was a lot bigger than that between level 10 and 12. The difference in the former was something of considerably different nature after all. Rules that were mastered above level 10 was considerably more profound.
The light enveloped the mountains and an oracle that advent on Myers Mainland appeared in the sky. Three oracles advent and one of them was missing. However, the remaining two hardly felt anything about it. Having one of their own dead would prove to be a good thing for them. If it had not been for the attributes of the oracles making it difficult for them to attack each other, the remaining two would probably long be going after each other’s throats.
They were the highest being in Myers Mainland at the moment.
The two oracles finally regained the power of level 12 somewhat after a period of restoration. And that time, the Holy See acquired intel from the Cloudflow Empire, saying that Saleen appeared in the mountainous regions of Cloudflow, looking for a temple left behind by the Goddess of Myers.
The Holy See’s forces were focused on Daliang City. The remaining main force was all at the Holy City and said force dared not be deployed haphazardly. Furthermore, with the Tribunal and the Pivotal Council always being at odds with each other, Pope Theisio had little power that he was able to deploy, so he had to go to the two oracles.
One of them was intrigued enough to get to the Cloudflow Empire on his own, wanting to see what the Goddess of Myers had left behind.
“Master...” While Nailisi had returned to her imp form, she remained lethargic. Being controlled by rules, robbed of her ability to shapeshift, and having all three of her heads cut off, Nailisi had truly died once. While her soul did not dissipate, she suffered considerable injuries.
The divine spells cast by the Water Fox were not truly through the goddess’ own hands, so it would take some time before Nailisi could truly recover.
“Rest assured, I killed all who harmed you,” Saleen uttered a simple line, putting her at ease. She did not get excited, but felt that everything that she had given so far had been worth it. Nailisi was able to feel why Saleen was so angry. It was not because she had died, but because the Grand Duke Jatan wanted to rob her of her freedom.
“Saleen, the thing outside?” Sika pointed up. The thing that cast Territory of Light was apparently not someone any of them would be able to take on.
“Don’t worry about it. He can’t get down. It’s about time I develop my own territory, and when I’m done, we’ll be able to leave. If that thing wants to keep me trapped, he’ll need to be a god.” Saleen answered very confidently, putting Sika at ease. Mages had no tendency to boast. If Saleen said that they would be able to leave, then there would not be any problem.
The oracle dropped beside the pool and cast intense light from his eyes, shining directly on the tower. The oracle saw the tower and was dumbfounded to find that it was made out of elementite. It would be difficult to break it.
The oracle was three meters tall, and a huge, crystal clear ring hovered behind his back. The oracle thought for a bit and summoned over a hundred angels from the ring, which flew out and stood around the pool.
The oracle chanted prayers, and the angels became huge chunks of crystal. The oracle hovered in midair and cast a divine spell at the pool. The clear rocks surrounding the pool were all inscribed with holy prose.
Saleen saw the divine rune charm array appear above the pool and smirked.
“I need to train and won’t be able to talk to anyone for half a month. Rossen, continue to man the tower’s defenses and don’t pay any heed to what is going on up there. That thing is not enough to cause us concern. When I develop territorial powers, we’ll leave.”
The oracle was far more powerful than Grand Duke Jatan, but Saleen was hardly fettered. The angels of fear dared to take on the Divine Tree Magic Tower, but that servant of the Lord of Glory don’t even dare to try his hand?
Saleen was only concerned if it possessed powerful equipment. If it did not, then his family badge would enable him to kill virtually anything.
“Oh yeah, and this is Myers. She’d be with us from here on out.” Saleen pointed at the Water Fox. None of them found calling her Myers peculiar. The Water Fox resembled Nailisi, which was what they noticed.
Saleen took the Water Fox to the 24th floor of the tower. “I need to re-craft the tower to imbue it with the power of rules. It will keep us from being trapped like this again, but I need your help.”
“Have it your way, Your Highness,” the Water Fox said exasperatedly.
“Give me your water elemental powers.” Saleen sat down where he meditated. The Water Fox came to Saleen’s side quietly and spit out some clear blue energy.
The mass of energy was incredibly pure. While the Water Fox’s level had plunged, the rules of water element that she controlled were hardly weakened. Conventional water elemental creatures would not be a match for her.
Saleen conjured the Water Flame and spread it throughout the entire 24th floor, infusing it with the power of water element. Saleen was prepared for the crafting process. He infused massive amounts of divine powers from the Ring of Gifts into the Goddess of Myers’ statue, enabling the Water Fox to have ample power for sustaining conversion of water element. He prepared divine crystals and magic drugs to replenish his energy.
The power of water element coursed within the magic tower. The elementite did not resist Saleen’s power, so it was easy, so much so that he modified his Starline Robe at the same time. The starlines on the Starline Armament were crafted using constellation power, and Saleen was not used to using them. Furthermore, he was a level ten sorcerer and would be more powerful using elemental powers.
The water element began to modify the Starline Armament. The constellation power melted off, and Saleen’s elemental conversion abilities allowed him to modify even constellation power because he understood where the source of the power of the stars came from—the earth itself.
The Water Fox did her task with a sullen face. Dropping to level ten and still providing massive elemental power to Saleen was a very, very difficult task for her. However, if a human mage was capable of doing it, there was no reason for her to whine to Saleen.
Endless constellation power within the Starline Robe was replaced with the power of water element. The intricate star charts gradually became ones drawn using water element. Such conversions modified the star charts at negligible margins, but said changes meant the difference between the heaven and the earth, in regards to use of the magic robe to Saleen.
Invoking the star charts needed pure constellation power, but Saleen was using the power from elemental conversion. Any of the six major elements would be able to be converted into energy required to invoke the star charts. It was a type of new energy that was between constellation power and the power of earth element.
Saleen’s crafting of his Starline Equipment made him realize that Gaine had been very good to him. All of the starlines and star charts on the Starline Robe had room for modifications and Gaine did not play any tricks with them. A piece of equipment that he would have on his person all the time would originally had not been something, that mages would want others to craft for them. Even if it happened to be something from the mage’s teacher, it would be kept as a memento. A mage needed to craft one’s own set when their training reached a certain level.
Saleen was not doing an overhaul. He simply wanted the Starline Armament to be more fitting for his own use after all. It was no longer difficult for him to craft high level equipment after advancing to level ten. He never expected the equipment that Gaine gave him had room for modification, sparing him of the need to find new materials for re-crafting. Saleen then moved on to modify the other parts of the Starline Armament. All of them were easily modified using water element without exception. All of the starlines were converted to water element magic pattterns and only Saleen knew, that the magic patterns on the armament could still be invoked using constellation power.
When every single part of the Starline Armament was modified, Saleen felt immediately that the magic chords in his body melded closely with the water element in the air around him. Such melding felt different from when he advanced. He felt as if the water element around him came alive and was coursing about like they were his own blood.
Spells that had been fine and difficult to control became easy in an instant. Saleen had one thought and rendered all elements within the 24th floor turned into water element. Every single element particle was rendered under his control.
The Water Fox was considerably startled. The magic training of that human before her was instead faster than any living creature she known. Saleen was only a level ten elemental mage, but he was able to master Water Element Territory!
It was worth noting that she herself had only mastered Deep Blue Territory when she advanced to level ten back then, which had been a branch of Water Element Territory. It was due to such that she had only been able to master water element rules at level 15, after training for tens of thousands of years.
If Saleen was able to master Water Element Territory while he was at level ten, there was hope for him to master Water Element Rules when he reached only level 13!
