Saleen had someone stand guard outside and did not bring Sika in. He brought Daniel and Isabella instead.
They were not high level mages, but since the temple was built in a place with so much human traffic, the Goddess of Myers’ personality dictated that she would not place something terrifying.
Furthermore, Saleen wielded the powers of the Puppet World Realm, making him practically immune to being surrounded. The territorial powers were greater than even his own, and bringing Nailisi and the others would not make much of a difference.
Saleen’s family badge was filled with energy. The Thunder Dragon Blaster only needed an hour to cool down, and 24 level 11 spells were infused within the Starline Robe.
Saleen no longer needed to be as cautious and meticulous, and he no longer shirked things, as long as the enemy did not possess greater equipment.
Daniel and Isabella both knew that Saleen was making things up to them. Every single person that Saleen brought into temples had something to gain. Daniel was swamped with day-to-day affairs.
If it had not been for a lesser noble like Daniel working hard when Metatrin City was first established, Saleen would not have had time to attend to other matters.
As for Isabella, she had been away for quite some time and Saleen hoped that she would be able to brush up on her powers as soon as possible to become capable of truly serving him.
Her ordeal would either enhance her unique skills or pose an obstacle for advancement.
Saleen did not want Isabella to give so much o following him and end up gaining nothing in the end.
The portals to the temples were all different and this one had some light in it. Saleen’s Elemental Eye scanned it and found the light emanating from phosphor. Phosphor could originate from bones, which was precisely what had happened in the temple.
It was unknown how many magic beasts and humans died in the portal, leaving behind piles of bones. The phosphor from some bones were capable of burning for hundreds of thousands of years.
The bones had natural magic patterns on them. Bones with magic patterns were a sign that the creatures were level 12 or above when they were alive. Saleen was elated to see the bones and said to Daniel, “You, Aini, and the Winged Skull can split the bones.”
Saleen knew that despite having become a level eight sorcerer, Daniel lacked decent space equipment, so he grabbed them for Daniel. The bones were of high enough level for crafting powerful spirit equipment.
The portal ended after six miles. There were no temples at the end, only the remains of a huge battlefield. Bones and armor pieces littered the ground. Broken weapons and large scale equipment laid about.
There were even huge puppets that were practically torn to pieces, the sheen in their eyes long gone.
It seemed that millions had duked it out there. Judging from the quality of the broken weapons, the battlefield was ancient. Saleen frowned and took to the air, scanning the area with his Elemental Eye. He did not find the edge of the battlefield nor any signs of the temple.
This is impossible. If the Ring of Gifts was able to open up a portal, that means that this is where Myers built her temple. The Elemental Eye can see over a hundred miles away. Why isn’t the temple in sight?
His Ring of Gifts was able to detect temples. Even if his Elemental Eye happened to be blocked by divine spells, it would not be able to escape the Ring of Gifts’ detection.
The sky was pitch black but there was light. Aini and Isabella were both capable of seeing their surroundings using skills.
“My liege, the air here seems thin,” Isabella said to Saleen.
“This is not Myers Mainland, but some independent space that the goddess created to hide the temple.”
“No, it’s not. This is an interdimensional space!” Daniel did not fall into inertial thinking and found the problem quicker than Saleen.
An interdimensional space?
Saleen was elated. Raphael had been able to find an interdimensional space, preventing him from being hunted by the Lord of Light. Fycro wanted to find an interdimensional space in the hopes of amassing his own believers.
Interdimensional spaces were precious and rare. Saleen would have to build a city rivaling the Holy Rock City to conceal the secret teleportation portal.
The interdimensional space he found was even more precious, as it was probably very near the Myers Mainland. The goddess was incapable of opening a stable portal, resorting to using teleportation portals instead.
“My liege, it’d be quite a loss for us to give this city to the southwestern nobles!” Isabella developed a keen eye for precious commodities. She knew that the equipment and high level bones were nowhere near as valuable as the interdimensional space itself.
Saleen hesitated for a bit. If he advanced to the next level, he would be capable of creating plane coordinates, making it easier to link the interdimensional space with Myers Mainland. The cost of getting to Myers Mainland from that interdimensional space was far less than Raphael’s.
The air there was thin and there were hardly any plants. There were few stars in the sky, which was probably blocked by the air. There were thick clouds floating in the sky. They had no idea if the interdimensional space was growing about to collapse.
“No need to be in a hurry to clean up the battlefield!” Saleen commanded his two followers to create a set of coordinates. It was an effort involving all three of them, as it would make the coordinates considerably more stable.
Daniel used death magic, Saleen used elemental magic, and Isabella used silver sword aura. A set of coordinates with three types of attributes would make it difficult to be erased. Saleen created a link between them and the coordinates to prevent them from getting lost.
Magic compasses were not all useful in interdimensional spaces. If one intended to return to a certain point, it was best to use coordinates. Saleen did not think that to be enough and summoned a large puppet. He simply let the puppet stand there, doing nothing.
There were many puppets left on the battlefield and all of them had long been drained. The damages they suffered were difficult to repair. The large thing that Saleen had taken in a while ago did not look out of place at all in a battlefield littered with puppets.
The large puppet served both as a guard as well as a mark. Saleen would still be able to connect to the puppet’s soul so long as he stayed within a hundred miles radius.
Once he was done with all that, Saleen took his two followers and took to the air, flying at the defending side of the battlefield.
Saleen had to land every hundred miles to set up new coordinates. The battlefield spanned over 400 miles. Saleen flew over 1000 miles before arriving at the end of the land.
A black ocean lay at the end of the land and Saleen felt a lot better at seeing water. That interdimensional space was not all that desolate, but the water element was not all that stable as well, feeling rather lacking. Water element finally looked thick when they came near the ocean.
However, Saleen was not in the mood to look into the black waters. He only knew that the black waters did not contain poisons and that some components within were hardly of any difference with that on Myers Mainland. The waters should be able to host living beings, but it was entirely dead instead.
What Saleen was concerned about the most at the moment was that he finally saw the temple, floating on the ocean.
Saleen was very moved. It was the first time he felt so strongly about bagging the entire temple. There was a patch of land beneath the temple of unknown material. His Elemental Eye scanned the dirt and rocks, finding a beehive structure.
There were 24 temples on top of the island. The temples were constructed completely of wood, elegant and intricate. They bore no similarities to the other temples of the Goddess of Myers.
The island was about 80 miles away from shore and the hall took less than one-third of the island. Saleen took a deep breath to calm his rising emotions. “Let’s get up there.”
Daniel and Isabella were both unable to see it. Their sight was limited to little more than two miles.
Saleen easily took them along using Quickcloud and arrived on the island. The island was 36 miles in length and width, just like Nailisi’s 12 Notes of First Purgatory.
Saleen attempted to use territorial powers and found nothing resisting his turf. He grew even more elated as it meant that there were no other powers in the interdimensional space.
But how am I going to bag an island that is 36 miles across? Can I take it apart? It looks feasible given how the place seemed to be put together in blocks. But the puppets would take too much time to take the island apart.
Give up? Hell no! This floating island may actually be part of the Sky City.
He had the mechanical core of the Sky City, Six Element’s Heavy Water to nurture the core, and his teacher possessed the Heart of the Sky. If he got the land part of the Sky City, then he would be able to build a complete Sky City, which was far more powerful than a flying tower.
He would no longer need to painstakingly train armies to wage wars. He would only need to bring the Sky City above his enemies’ cities and bombard cities. At altitudes of over ten thousand meters, even a pebble could wrought devastating damage.
“My liege?” Both Isabella and Daniel were aware that something was not right with Saleen.
“Do both of you know that the island beneath our feet might actually be a part of the Sky City?”
Daniel and Isabella were completely dumbstruck.
“I’ve seen the Sky City’s schematics. It’s huge and this island is less than one-tenth of its size. But, even if we are able to create just one chunk of land...”
“My liege, this is crazy! There is no way we can take something this big with us!” Daniel wailed, while Isabella eyed the land beneath her feet with wide-opened eyes.
“There is definitely something we can do. You saw how big that portal was, how did Myers get it ] here?!” Saleen immediately knew he was not making sense.
Even if Myers was not a god, she was a level 18 mage and had space equipment that probably rivaled God’s Ring.
The God’s Ring would definitely be able to bag the entire chunk of land beneath their feet. However, even if Lex gave him her ring, his mental powers meant that he would not be able to take such a huge island.
“My liege, let’s head down to the temples. We might find clues there,” Daniel reminded Saleen. The Goddess of Myers would definitely have a purpose for leaving a part of the Sky City behind like that.
