“Saleen, you really do have a bad memory!” Jason joked with his student.

Saleen opened his Elemental Eye and looked, but did not find the floating island. The islands were not very big. When compared to true islands at sea, the island in question was little more than a piece of small land.

There was no such thing as a mage with a bad memory. Even if a said mage indeed had an inherently bad memory, they could just use a skill called Memory Magic.

Saleen then said, “Looks like we need to look for it slowly. The island couldn’t have disappeared into the waters.”

Jason said, “Let me take you people for a spin.”

Saleen smiled. Jason was intending to teach flying skills to both him and Truman. However, he was sure that his own flying skills were exceptional among level-ten sorcerers.

While all of that was going through Saleen’s head, Jason had unleashed his own magic amplifier—two rings with a diameter of a meter each. They appeared behind Jason as both the water and fire elements in the air thickened.

Saleen felt himself become enveloped by formless power—Jason’s territory.

Water Flame Alchemy and Blazing Flame Soul-refinement. Jason had melded both territories and formed a new territory that was without form. Saleen was unable to even peer at its rules using his Elemental Eye.

Jason took ten people into the air. Their speed reached 500 miles per hour in an instant. Saleen felt the blood rushing to his head, causing him to get dizzy and requiring him to adjust using a magic skill.

Wha...

Jason smiled and said, after seeing how startled Saleen was, “How about it? Did you learn anything?”

“There is no end to magic,” Saleen answered truthfully. He recalled Baudelaire’s ability to traverse space at the gods’ place. Saleen knew that he had been letting his ego get to his head.

“This is nothing, Saleen. I’m now a level-11 sorcerer. This is just my usual speed.”

Saleen was speechless. He knew that level-11 sorcerers were capable of flying at over 300 miles per hour on average. His teacher’s flight ability was almost one-third faster than that.

“The extreme limit of my flight would surpass the speed of sound.” Jason’s words shocked Saleen again. Such an extreme flight speed did not mean instantaneous bursts. If that was the case, skills like Rainbow or some others would have allowed one to move faster than flight, yet skills like Rainbow were unsustainable.

The extreme flight speed meant here was the very limit of a mage’s ability to have prolonged, sustained flight.

The speed of sound exceeded 1,200 miles per hour in the air. Jason was able to sustain his flight well over that speed. Such an ability would enable him to almost traverse the furthest distance between two points in any of the empires within just a single day.

Such speed would also enable Jason to punch through armor made of steel plates, simply by throwing a stone while in flight.

Saleen recalled his own Comet Flash. That movement skill was even more ferocious. When refined to the very extreme, it would make him move like a meteorite. It could burn up his body until nothing was left in flight.

It was not a kind of speed that any armor could defend against.

If he were to truly reach the speed of comets, Saleen would be able to cause a disaster on the ground, simply by throwing down a common piece of rock while he was high up in the air.

However, said rock would need to be huge enough that it would not burn down to dust as it fell through the atmosphere.

If Theisio had been able to separate himself from the Origin Stone of Darkness after he transformed, Sika would have been the one who had ended up dead. The speed of a level-13 powerful being was not something Saleen would have been able to imagine. They would have probably been able to move faster than his teacher.

Saleen flew above the black ocean, his teacher taking the lead. Jason no longer bothered to conceal his powers and accelerated, taking everyone over the ocean.

The energy in the middle of each of the two rings of fire and water flowed ceaselessly, sustaining Jason’s flight. Jason was not using his own magic chords. He had only been flying using the power of the magic amplifiers.

Saleen was even able to see the workings of energy within the rings of fire and water when Jason did not bother concealing his power. He was, of course, able to see more than Truman was able to.

Even if Truman was able to train and obtain the Elemental Eye, he would not be able to maintain it for more than several seconds.

Energy spewed from within the rings of fire and water, creating a wedge-shaped space of energy around every single one of them. The tangling of water and fire energies brought forth the energy of greater purity, pushing the wedge-shaped space forward.

The wedge-shaped space itself was a tremendously powerful weapon of mass destruction. Saleen speculated that if he were to just keep flying like that, he would be able able to even punch through a city wall.

It worked somewhat like his Water Shield. However, his Water Shield was comparatively mild when it came to offense, relying on the lightning magic patterns on it to break the enemy’s territory or elemental balance.

Saleen pointed at a black spot in the air after flying for several hours and said, “Teacher, that thing is up there!”

Jason quickly adjusted his direction and took them upwards. The fragment of the Sky City was floating at an altitude of only about 20,000 miles. Jason quickly flew up and was quite moved, seeing an entire piece of land floating in the sky.

“Good stuff indeed!” Jason praised. The Sky City fragment had a thickness that differed from Saleen’s speculation. It was actually 360 miles in height, which meant that the thing looked like a cone in the sky.

Its lower part was pointed. The upper part was the platform carrying the goddess’ temple.

The structure below the platform was simple. Saleen saw a frame constructed with level-18 elementite at its core. All manner of magical materials formed the land.

The magic arrays formed by the magical materials were not all that complex by comparison, even though all of them were three-dimensional magic arrays. Saleen was able to comprehend what he saw with his Elemental Eye.

Many kinds of slots were found on the land. Saleen saw many overlapping spaces.

Below the 36 square mile platform were all manner of resources. Magic arrays provided the water required to sustain life, as well as all kinds of nourishment.

The thing that had shocked those seeing it was only a fragment. A complete Sky City was said to be thousands of miles long. One could only imagine what it would have looked like.

Jason brought Saleen and his people onto the Sky City’s fragment. Saleen placed his Magical Element Tower on an open space.

“While it’s quite early to do this, given how we need to take on the Holy See, we have to do it all the same.” Saleen’s Magical Element Tower connected with the Sky City fragment as soon as it landed.

Six Elements’ Heavy Water and Genesis Stock Solution were released all at once, melding within the tower.

The properties of the Genesis Stock Solution indicated that the Sky City fragment was being repaired. Doing this required massive amounts of energy. Saleen threw the bone crystals of the giant into it and melded them with the Six Elements’ Heavy Water, all of it seeping into the Sky City fragment.

Massive cracking noises were heard and the Sky City fragment shook. The mechanical core of the Sky City within the Magical Element Tower continued to grow outwards, entering the Sky City fragment, combining with the materials and magic arrays in it.

Saleen then saw the Magical Element Tower gradually sink to the ground as if it were being sucked in by the Sky City fragment. Saleen needed to keep observing with his Element Eye to locate the mechanical core of the Sky City.

Under the workings of the Genesis Stock Solution, the mechanical core of the Sky City merged with the tower within the Sky City fragment. The bone crystals of the giant that Saleen had thrown in were also being used to restore the Sky City fragment.

The fragment itself was not all that badly damaged. It would not have been able to float in midair otherwise. After the tower merged with it, that piece of land was truly able to fly, no longer just being taken wherever the wind blew.

As he’d speculated would happen, Saleen’s tower was gone, yet he’d gained an even larger flying equipment in exchange.

Said equipment was hardly considered a piece of equipment at all. The Sky City fragment was over 300 miles tall and had far exceeded the area of the air layer covering the land.

If it had not been for the fact that that piece of land was covered with a layer of thick elemental gas that moved with it, Saleen would have had to put up the Water Shield a long time ago.

So, how should I bring this thing back to Myers Mainland then?

The Sky City fragment began to exhibit new changes as that thought went through Saleen’s mind. The cone beneath the fragment began to shrink. The fragment became much shorter under the mechanical core’s control.

After the matter was compressed to a certain level, things began to get converted. All manner of magic arrays were stacked and compressed, forming new magic arrays.

Saleen had never expected to see such changes happening.

The way the structure of the Sky City fragment compressed resembled folding paper toys played by children. The changes that took place in the matter after compression caused the level of the matter to enhance tens of times over.

The lower part of the fragment had looked like little more than a bunch of rocks in the beginning. After the compression, the outer shell of the entire Sky City fragment looked like something as dense and hard as the bone crystals of the giant.

The material gleamed with dark golden colors. Its original 360-mile height was eventually compressed to just 900 meters. Such compression would have turned a pile of sh** into a diamond.

But then again, how do I take away something this big from the interdimensional space?

The fragment’s core gave Saleen the answer he sought. A huge magic array appeared where Saleen stood, right at the center of the land.

“A space-jumping magic array!” Jason’s eyes were still looking at the magic array, not turning away or blinking even once.

That magic array was of a complexity exceeding anything that Saleen and Jason had ever imagined. Such magic arrays would have required many powerful mages to craft together in ancient times. If it had not been for the Genesis Stock Solution, there would have been no way for Saleen to ever restore it.

The magic array was octagonal, with a huge magic power furnace appearing in each of the eight corners. Those were the true power sources that powered the Sky City’s movement. The magic power furnaces looked like towers, requiring people to get inside them to get them working.

The mechanical core grew out from the lower part of the Sky City fragment, forming into tens of thousands of metal spikes. The spikes then formed a magic net, covering the entire Sky City fragment in the opposite direction.

The area within a 100 miles radius was even covered by the magic net from the fragment.

In ancient times, the Sky City had been more than housing for people. The Sky Cities had been powerful weapons of war. The spot where Saleen stood at an altitude of 360 miles, high in the air above the ocean of that interdimensional space. Anything thrown from such a height would be turned into lethal weapons.

Furthermore, a massive magic net was placed beneath the lower part of the Sky City. Tens of thousands of enchanters would have been housed within that magic net. The spikes gradually receded after shooting out, turning the lower part of the fragment into something resembling a beehive.

“We’ll call this a Floating City, Saleen.” Jason observed all the changes happening in the Sky City from start to finish, learning a lot from it in the process. He had etched all of the ancient magic arrays deep in his mind.

“Sure, teacher. Let’s get out of here,” Saleen said, unleashing hundreds of elemental creatures into the magic power furnaces of the octagonal magic array. Eight huge magic power furnaces burst with massive power which was siphoned into the magic array.

Millions of magic patterns within the magic array were invoked. The entire Floating City tore through space in an instant, traversing the planes and appearing right above New Demon City.
