“What about your powers?!” Saleen asked worriedly.

“I will continue to be a Priestess. I don’t wish to push away my responsibility as a Caucasus Priestess; not because I’m afraid of losing my powers, but because those people raised me.”

“I understand.” Saleen carried his daughter while grabbing resources for Nailisi with one hand.

Saleen only rested for two days before he began to refine the magic tower. The tower itself did not lack any resources, so what Saleen was doing was to complete the lightning magic pattern and enter the middle of the tower so that the top of the mechanical core of Sky City would replenish magic nuclei for it.

The flight of Sky City definitely did not depend on magic nuclei. Saleen only wanted to operate the magic tower so the number of magic nuclei required was very different. A grade-9 magic nuclei would enable the magic tower to fly over a very long distance.

The magic nucleus of a single-horned white whale could be sliced into thousands of standard slices. Saleen’s divine tree magic tower would require at least thirty-six standard pieces of magic nuclei in order to become operational. The magic array on the tower also required six magic nuclei at the same time, so about two-hundred and sixteen standard pieces of grade-9 magic nuclei would have to be used up in one go.

Saleen did not have enough magic nuclei for the magic tower to fly around. That was why he wanted to visit the cemetery of the single-horned white whales. He understood that for the battles in future, non-magic equipment would no longer be used. Ordinary weapons would no longer be distributed to soldiers.

When all soldiers were at least swordsmen or swordmasters, it was the power of their equipment that would determine victory or defeat.

Although Metatrin City had alchemy factories and thousands of mages and apprentices, they would not be enough to support their battles across the Mainland. With so many Sregl Island mages, he could afford to build alchemy factories of bigger scales and create even more magic equipment.

The amount of space that the divine tree magic tower could maneuver was automatically initiated by the mechanical core of Sky City and was even bigger than the combination of the nine dimensions initiated by Saleen. If Saleen cloned Sky City, that would be the core of it. Back then, the core space of Sky City was controlled by mages as well.

Very quickly, Saleen managed to find the location where the mechanical core was controlled. Mounting the grade-9 nucleus opened up one of the functions of the mechanical core. This core might have belonged to the second dynasty, but its history definitely went back much further than that. Saleen saw words and magic symbols that dated back even before the first dynasty.

To a mage like Saleen, who used magic to remember knowledge, as long as there was sufficient information, he would be able to partially understand words from any dynasty.

Saleen felt helpless in front of those words, because other than flight control, the other functions were the result of some unique abilities of Sky City. Saleen lacked the materials to create Sky City; hence he chose to refine a magic tower. He would have no use for those complicated functions.

Saleen even saw three-dimensional magic words describing one of the functions of Sky City – an All-around Magic Cannon attack.

Saleen already possessed a magic cannon of his own. Although it was miniature in size, it was extremely powerful, and its attacking range was more than ten miles. There was nothing that the magic cannon could not penetrate.

He did not understand what an all-around attack was, but the magic words had the ability to elaborate. Saleen guessed that an all-around attack meant that within a restricted area, there would be many layers of attacks from every direction, just like a meteor shower.

There was an area of effect spell amongst grade-9 spells called Meteorite Impact. The all-around attack described by the magic words should have been similar to the effect of casting a few Meteorite Impacts consecutively.

That would probably require more than one-hundred magic cannons in order to achieve the same outcome? Saleen began to admire the power of Sky City. If he had a city like that, Alchemy City or Holy Rock City could be razed to the ground.

The defense of Sky City was different from what Saleen imagined. His divine tree magic tower was powered by lightning in order to carry out elemental destruction. Any magic attack would be weakened or even completely eliminated.

On the other hand, Sky City’s defenses were like magic armor, and countless armor plates had been placed around the gigantic city. Each armor plate was an independent defense system on its own and they were all interchangeable. Since it was an independent defense system, they had minimal effects on each other and there was more than one layer.

After reading all the words that had floated out of the mechanical core, he only found two functions that he could use.

The first function was flight, and the second function was to descend.

As expected, Saleen did not feel that he would gain all the abilities of Sky City just because he had obtained a mechanical core. He recognized the importance of the mechanical core because those were the two abilities that he needed the most.

Although Wings of an Elf was a flying equipment that could fetch people, its appearance looked like that of a big bird and it could only fetch one adult at most. On the other hand, Sky City did not look like it was suitable for flying, so Saleen still could not comprehend the physics behind its ability to fly.

Saleen would not allow anyone else to enter the control room of the divine tree magic tower. Perhaps the water puppet would be a good option to control it.

Saleen took three months to refine this magic tower. At the end of it he managed to obtain the prototype of an equipment. If he wanted the tower to possess attacking abilities, Saleen would have to continue refining it so that every layer of the tower would be able to activate its function.

Lex finally came. Saleen’s two children had turned one year old in November. Saleen stayed for another three months and when he felt that he would advance the moment he returned to the Myers Mainland. He left the Hell of God’s Punishment with Lex.

Saleen did not enter Six Elements’ Space at all during his training. Now that the collective power of the Myers Mainland was increasing, there were many sorcerers working for Saleen, so his own power was not that important at that moment. Gaining enlightenment in Rafael’s magic tower meant that Saleen’s path towards advancement would no longer be difficult.

Only six mages could enter Six Elements’ Space in one go, so Saleen wanted to give up his slot to others who needed it more.

Not everyone that entered would achieve the same thing in the end. The Sregl Island mages were very experienced, so when they stepped out of Six Element’s Space, they were more or less at the peak of a grade-9 mage and were already preparing to advance to grade-10.

The process was not a particularly quick one even in ancient times, so even if the collective power of the Myers Mainland was increasing, there would not be any significant changes. Metatrin City still remained as a powerful entity.

It was precisely because Saleen understood that point that he obeyed Jason’s guidance to use his own abilities to advance. What he did not expect was that when he returned from interdimensional space, Jason had already advanced into a grade-9 sorcerer.

Jason had changed the temple completely and all the parts that were not built previously due to a lack of materials had then been built. The temple had been transformed into a pure magic building and could contain up to one-thousand mages for training.

Only mages that were above grade-4 could enter the temple. The temple corp had also been expanded to consist of twenty-four-thousand men. After including the demons, the total strength would be more than two-hundred and forty-thousand.

Everything seemed to be progressing perfectly. By then, the two grade-9 sorcerers guarding Western town had also realized that their abilities were no longer of utmost importance to Saleen anymore and were much more respectful to Metatrin City.

Lex and Saleen were then discussing something very formal. Bain was trapped in the Tanggulasi Empire and was being pursued by the Holy See. Most of his subordinates had died and less than ten still survived.

Bain needed to be rescued by a very powerful group of reinforcement.

The only time they managed to communicate with each other, Bain had mentioned a code. Lex then told Saleen that the reason why the Holy See was chasing Bain so fervently was not because he managed to kill a group of Red Bishops. It was because he and his subordinates managed to snatch away an extremely important equipment from the Holy See in the Glorious City.

If the equipment fell into the hands of the Holy See, a clone of the Lord of Glory could descend upon the Myers Mainland and everything could swing in their favor as a result.

Eleanor had advanced into grade-7, so she was sent by Lex into the interdimensional space and would only be out in three months’ time. Without Eleanor’s help, it would be difficult for Saleen’s most powerful attack to be locked onto a powerful grade-9 opponent. Lex would not allow Saleen to participate in that mission.

The last time Bain was seen was in God’s Grace Duchy. From there, he could enter Luolan or Sikeqinya Empire. Based on Lex’s judgment, although Luolan was now under the control of Qin, Bain would most likely go to Sikeqinya.

There were more than twenty grade-9 sorcerers in Metatrin City, but grade-9 sorcerers were not suitable to infiltrate enemy territories because they could easily be surrounded by the Holy See.

The team that would be responsible for rescuing Bain would have to consist of every type of Professional and it would have to be small in numbers.

Lex wished to be part of the team because her God’s Ring could sense Bain’s presence within three-hundred miles. Others would not have that advantage in finding the assassin.

Saleen could not disagree, but he insisted that Lex must choose a team suitable for the mission.

Sika could not go because she needed to take care of her two children. Soldier and Nailisi could not go because Saleen was about to advance into a grade-8 sorcerer. They were bonded to him and would definitely experience a breakthrough in their powers. They had been limited by Saleen all that while, so their advancement had to be prioritized.

Daniel was given to Lex. He had become a grade-7 death sorcerer, so he would be able to supply Lex with many spirits of the dead. Jola had managed to successfully train Sharman so she had advanced into a black metal grand swordmaster in approximately a year’s time. Although she only advanced by one grade, she could easily advance into a silver grand swordmaster, as long as she could accumulate enough experience.

Jola barely managed to advance into a golden grand swordmaster. Saleen gave him to Lex not only because of his increase in power and because he was dependable. It was also because it has been rumored that Jola was becoming very intimate with one of Duchess Guya’s female mage.

That was troublesome. Jola’s personality was such that he would not consider the consequences and would just do whatever he wanted. He was a golden grand swordmaster, he could match up even with a grade-9 sorcerer. Saleen was worried that he might get himself into trouble, so he took that chance to send him away, so that he could find out for himself exactly what was happening between Jola and that female mage.
