“Oh no!” The winged skeleton turned around, but it was too late for him to return to the pan’s turtle alchemical boat. He had no choice but to charge at the white whale.

Both he and the single-horned white whale were grade-9 creatures, but the latter was simply too massive in size. The power harnessed by its magic nuclei was much more powerful than that of the winged skeleton. Besides, fighting underwater was not the winged skeleton’s forte, so a spell like Death Ripple posed no threat to the grade-9 magic beast.

The magic nucleus of the single-horned white whale was frighteningly massive, and so was the power it harnessed. Even if though the winged skeleton had absorbed the formidable golden zombie, he was still no match for the white whale.

The single-horned white whale had always been the overlord of the ocean, it was not just a grade-9 magic beast. It was only downgraded into a grade-9 creature as a result of the collective drop in the power of the Myers Mainland. White whales that were lucky enough would still stand a chance of advancing to grade-10.

The winged skeleton was armed with equipment made by humans. His double-faced giant axe was designed and made by Saleen, who used up plenty of magic materials, so that the winged skeleton would be able to cast death magic spells with it.

On the forehead of the single-horned white whale was its three yard long horn. When the blue light was unleashed, the annular ripples crashed towards the pan’s turtle alchemical boat. The annular ripples were not something that human mages could comprehend. It was a God-given talent that only the single-horned white whale possessed.

The blue annular ripples were a magic attack produced by the congregation of water elements. The water-elemental annular ripples formed a hollow tunnel that stretched across more than one-thousand yards underwater, heading straight towards the pan’s turtle alchemical boat. The attack would completely lock onto its target. The white whale’s powerful mental strength allowed it to lock onto opponents of the same grade easily.

How could it become the overlord in the ocean, where there were so many other grade-9 magic beasts otherwise? Even grade-10 magic beasts would not dare to trifle with single-horned white whales, especially if there were two or three of them around. Perhaps even mages like Joey would not care to face wave after wave of grade-9 magic attacks.

The winged skeleton raised his giant axe and the gigantic eyes on both sides of the axe blade opened at the same time. Black death aura was unleashed, forming an even bigger axe blade that was ten yards long and was swung with.

After swinging the axe blade, the winged skeleton flapped its wings underwater so that he could maneuver his body around quickly and dashed into the pan’s turtle alchemical boat. No second creature would have been able to do that, and even Saleen would have to utilize a teleportation portal. It was different for the winged skeleton because the pan’s turtle alchemical boat was his personal equipment, similar to what the Twelve Notes of Purgatory was to Nailisi.

The two spells clashed, and Soldier’s black axe blade overcame the single-horned white whale’s water-element annular ripples. The pan’s turtle alchemical boat ramped up its speed again. The water-element annular ripples were hacked across six-hundred yards by the axe blade before they finally dissipated. This attack by the winged skeleton would have been able to destroy the magic shield of a grade-9 sorcerer.

The single-horned white whale continued to unleash hundreds of waves of water-element annular ripples. The ripples crashed onto the bubble that surrounded the pan’s turtle alchemical boat.

The rear of the pan’s turtle alchemical boat possessed the highest defensive ability. Twelve bone spirits suddenly appeared with Bloodstones and when the latter exploded, the holes formed by the water-element ripples were broken off so that the attacks could not be connected to one another.

The bubble around the pan’s turtle alchemical boat did not burst but the water-element ripples managed to pass through the bubble and strike the ship itself.

After winged skull refined the grade-8 turtle shell once again, it was no longer just a simple shell of a magic beast. When the water-element ripples struck the ship, the magic streaks on the shell lit up and the magic nuclei mounted in the ship were used up very quickly. In the blink of an eye, thirty-six grade-7 magic nuclei were turned into dust.

Soldier could no longer care about saving money as he inserted thirty-six grade-9 magic nuclei into the magic array. The magic patterns on the shell of the entire pan’s turtle alchemical boat flashed, diverging the force of the attack so that it would be absorbed by the entire turtle shell.

Within the turtle shell and the cabins, everyone was in a daze. The water-element annular ripple might not be able to break open the turtle shell, but the subsequent tremors were able to create deafening noises within the cabins.

Even the Silence divine spell that Nicholas cast failed to silence the noises. Instead, the grade-8 divine spell collapsed after only a few seconds and aside from the spirits of the dead and Nailisi, everyone else was rolling on the ground in agony.

If the single-horned white whale’s attack was aimed at a real pan’s turtle, the grade-8 magic beast that specialized in defense abilities, it would have been shocked to death.

Nicholas’ Silence divine spell was an even more powerful divine spell compared to the Quiet spell and Speech Prohibition spell, but it was still no match for the single-horned white whale’s attack, which was hundreds of waves continuous attacks, with each of them equivalent to a grade-9 magic attack. That was the most terrifying thing about magic beasts of massive sizes – the number of spells that they could cast was not something that humans could match.

Nicholas felt extremely frustrated. It was not that there was nothing about this massive grade-9 magic beast, but he only had less than one-hundred-thousand souls in his soul beads. They would be completely wiped out if he was to cast Instant-death divine spell a few more times. He did not wish to borrow the powers of the Gods too frequently, or the Holy See would be able to locate his whereabouts very quickly and kill him.

Saleen was not strong enough to defeat the Holy See at that time. If not for the Qin Empire blocking the Holy See, Metatrin kingdom would have had to hide itself in Metatrin City.

A grade-9 Holy Master could borrow too much power from the Gods. It would be as obvious as a non-disciple unleashing the divine spell of an evil God in the Holy City. This was why Nicholas was always borrowing powers slowly and storing them in his soul beads.

Nicholas knocked his Fallen staff hard against the ground and unleashed the grade-9 Quarantine divine spell. Powerful Fallen Godly Power was unleashed from the soul beads, cutting off the sounds within the cabins for the time-being.

“Run, quick! This is the overlord of the ocean!” Nailisi shouted. The winged skeleton did not react much, but the expression on Nicholas’ face was awful.

Overlord? A grade-9 magic beast dared to call itself the overlord!

Humans were the real overlords of the Myers Mainland, regardless if it was on land or in the ocean, as they were all areas that humans had conquered in the past. After leaving the Holy See, Nicholas was very reluctant to use the method of borrowing powers from the Gods because he realized that at the end of the trainings, mages would still surpass Holy Masters.

Unless he could personally borrow power from the Gods the clones of the Gods would descend and possess the body of a Holy Master. If not for that power the Holy Master would always lose to the mages. That was regardless if it was a one-on-one fight or a group fight, as long as the numbers and grades were the same.

Fallen divine spells were different. In terms of quality, there was already a difference between fallen divine spells and divine spells. The powers of a fallen Holy Master were borrowed, but he could allocate them freely. The cunning Nicholas was extremely aware of his own powers, so there was nothing he could say if he lost to a human mage, but in that case, his divine spell was completely dismantled by a magic beast and that left him feeling ashamed.

Nailisi’s words embedded a technique used by demons to provoke their enemies. While everyone was still reeling from the shock of the shockwaves, she took the chance to use that technique and even Nicholas fell for it.

Not only was Nicholas bewitched by a demon, he had yet to realize the effect Nailisi had on him. He told the winged skeleton furiously, “Soldier, let me go out and kill that fellow!”

Of course, Soldier was never going to let Nicholas take that risk. Nicholas most definitely could kill a single-horned white whale, but the price might be too high. If Nicholas was to lose a part of his abilities, or even his life, Saleen would be furious.

“Our goal is to find the cemetery of the single-horned white whales. It has less than three months left to live. What’s the point of being upset with a magic beast that is about to die?” As the winged skeleton spoke, he turned the pan’s turtle alchemical back to their original route quickly. That was the only safe route that he trusted.

Nicholas finally calmed down. He might not succeed even if he used more than ten Instant-death divine spells on the white whale. Although the creature was on the brink of death, its resistance towards divine spells was still extremely high.

If things did not turn out well, Nicholas might not be able to kill the single-horned white whale even if he sacrificed his own life!

Nicholas took a look at Nailisi and finally sensed that something was amiss. Nailisi stared back viciously, with murderous intent in her eyes. Nicholas immediately smiled and said, “Run, run, you are right!”

Both Holy Masters and mages feared demons because the bloodlines of the latter were usually complicated and could usually result in some mysterious techniques. Some of the demon techniques could only be used once in their entire lifetimes, but the damage it could cause would be tremendous. If Nailisi really wanted him dead, he would die without even knowing how.

It seemed that Saleen would not seek revenge for Nicholas if Nailisi were to kill him, unless she did it for no good reason, but would the demon do so? She would probably keep provoking him until he could not take it anymore, then kill him in the name of self-defense.

“Hmm, demons...”

The winged skeleton was fully aware of what was happening and was a little disappointed that Nicholas did not dare to confront Nailisi. This demon was always causing trouble for Master. What would it take to teach her a good lesson?

Nailisi, the winged skeleton, and Nicholas were all at grade-9, but when faced with one grade-9 magic beast, they had no choice but to flee. That was embarrassing, but it was an undeniable fact that the single-horned white whale was much more powerful than them under the sea. If they were on land, the winged skeleton was confident of handling a few grade-9 magic beasts at one go.

Under the glacial sheet, none of spirits of the dead, demons, or humans would be a match for the single-horned white whale. From her previous experience, Nailisi knew that she would probably be killed if she was to try and fight the white whale herself.

The pan’s turtle alchemy ship controlled by the winged skeleton was much faster than the single-horned white whale, and soon they managed to escape from the white whale’s attacking range. He made sure that they were always within a certain distance so that the white whale would continue to pursue them though.

Soldier kept talking to Nicholas has he controlled the ship. “Don’t worry, if this creature keeps chasing us, it will die slowly from all the chasing. When it is about to die, that’s when you will strike. The intelligence of magic beasts is low hehe....”

Nicholas finally calmed down. The winged skeleton’s plan was a devious one. If the pan’s turtle alchemical boat was too far away, the single-horned white whale would give up the chase. The pan’s turtle alchemical boat remained within the white whale’s sight. The alchemy ship even clashed with the single-horned white whale so there was no way the latter was going to just let its enemy go.
