Saleen was dazzled by the scene unfolding before him. The earth totem had been set in place beforehand, and if any danger appeared, it would be activated. Also, the two fire serpents had not been cast by Faerun. They had come from magic scrolls.

Because a single attack was extremely powerful and controlling the fire serpents was Grade 8 magic, Faerun could not possibly have cast the two fire serpents on his own.

After a loud boom, the thorned dragon fell onto the viscountess’ tent and rolled about in pain. The other fire serpent had slithered into the dragon’s anus. Because the snakes had been formed by magic, they could not be extinguished. Despite the high magic resistance that the dragon possessed, its intestines could not withstand the burning pain.

Actually, Faerun had not needed to use the magic scrolls to slay the dragon. However, the magic scrolls had been the best solution for killing the determined beast quickly. Faerun still needed to face a silver grand swordmaster, so he had used the magic scrolls in order to conserve his precious magic chords.

A Grade 7 sorcerer and a silver grand swordmaster had a difference of one grade between them. A black metal grand swordmaster was two grades below. Even though there were five of them, the intruder might not be defeated. So, Faerun was naturally very cautious. He had used two Grade 8 magic scrolls, which cost tens of thousands of gold coins, just to conserve a little combat power.

There was no one in the tent. Viscountess Lex had disappeared. The areas of the thorned dragon’s body which had come into contact with the fire serpents started to char and crack. The internal and external injuries acted together, causing the dragon to roar wildly. The thorned dragon spit purple flames and rolled a few times before its actions ceased for good. The hard scales on its surface also cracked into more than ten pieces each, exposing the burned meat beneath.

The battle had gone on for over ten seconds, and hundreds of soldiers had already put on their armor and mounted their war horses. They surrounded the intruder from afar, waiting to inflict the final blow onto him. These soldiers were only swordsmen or swordmasters, but they still formed a decisive power. As soon as the intruder was injured, they would charge forward and swarm him.

The intruder clad in heavy armor secretly regretted his decision. He had trusted the intelligence reports blindly, but it turned out that the viscountess had a sorcerer with her! Even though the sorcerer was only Grade 7, the intruder’s sword aura would be drained as long as the sorcerer possessed a sufficient number of magic scrolls. Then, the four black metal grand swordmasters would deliver the killing blow to him, and the soldiers would not even need to help.

Peng!

One of the black metal grand swordmasters was struck by the meteor hammer and blown away. The sword auras from both parties had clashed, and the meteor hammer had given off a purple glow, crushing the Qin eight-sided sword into small pieces. The intruder had raised his power to the maximum level and he had finally managed to break through his enemy’s trap. The meteor hammer then followed up by breaking another black metal grand swordmaster’s sword.

The other two black metal grand swordmasters managed to pierce the intruder’s waist, but they only drove the swords half an inch into him before they could go no further. The intruder clad in heavy armor took a big step forward and his body began to tremble violently. This action caused the sword auras from both of the swords to be dispersed, and the two swords broke.

The thorned dragon had died, and the target was missing as well. The intruder did not want to continue the fight, and began to have thoughts of retreating.

Woo…woo…

The swinging of the meteor hammer caused sounds in the wind. The intruder rushed with immense speed towards the corpse of the thorned dragon. His intention was to go through the tent. He did not want to turn back even though he was retreating.

Facing the intruder were the bunch of cavalry soldiers that Tenesee led. The war horse Tenesee sat on was so frightened by the aura of the silver grand swordmaster that it could no longer withstand it. Tenesee tried to control the horse forcefully, but the war horse was anxiously trying to back away.

The other four black metal grand swordmasters whose weapons had been destroyed then quickly took the swords from the surrounding soldiers and gave chase.

The intruder clad in heavy armor suppressed his anger and did not turn back, but continued charging forward even more quickly. If the intruder had only been fighting against the four men, he certainly would not have escaped in shame. But the sorcerer was not around, and this made him uninterested in the fight. It seemed like the viscountess was not ruthless enough. If she had ordered the soldiers to surround and attack him, he would have ultimately been killed even though hundreds of soldiers would have died too.

The intruder saw that the soldiers had made way for him to pass, and he waved his meteor hammer in the air to send the tent in front of him flying. The soldiers immediately raised their metal weapons to block the attack.

The lone intruder with the hammer was far more powerful than the thorned dragon.

“Please stay,” Faerun’s voice rang across the camp. At the same time, numerous teeth made out of stone emerged from the ground as though a gaping maw, and bit at the intruder clad in heavy armor.

The intruder was daring enough to clash head on with a sword, but he did not dare clash head on with Grade 7 magic. There was a boom from the meteor hammer and several stone teeth were shattered. The intruder had jumped over two meters into the air to dodge any attacks coming from behind. The height of his jump was coincidentally the maximum height the stone teeth could rise. In the same instant, the meteor hammer again gave off its purple glow. The intruder’s sword aura had been fully unleashed as he defended against the mage’s attacks.

The stone teeth rose up two meters and stopped their assault. The intruder clad in heavy armor stepped on one stone tooth with a great amount of effort and he sped up and leapt out of the camp with his meteor hammer. A silver grand swordmaster could use their sword aura to fly in the air. However, this intruder’s armor was too cumbersome and heavy. Besides, there was the threat of the sorcerer, so the intruder did not want to take flight.

That single leap covered a distance of over ten meters. As the intruder landed on the ground, his surroundings darkened all of a sudden. He was shocked that he had been covered in darkness. This was extremely rare Dark Magic, and it was a Grade 8 spell. The intruder did not dare hide anymore. The purple colored sword aura shone through his armor and exploded like a sun. In an instant, the darkness had been extinguished by the purple light.

That magic had definitely not come from a magic scroll since it was so accurate. The mage must have run out of magic chords!

The intruder dispelled the darkness around him. Before he could catch his breath, a leaf fell just in front of him. This caused the intruder to be a little confused, and he fell into a trance. He felt some pain in his ankle as a shadow took off behind him.

The intruder fell to the ground as he lost control of one of his feet. He could no longer support the weight of his heavy armor and his head leaned towards one side. In that instant, the tendon of his heel had been cut. As the intruder put one hand on the ground to support himself, he turned around and saw a shapely middle-aged man holding a dagger and laughing at him mockingly.

The Dark Magic had only been used to confuse his senses, in order to provide a cover for the assassin’s assault.

In a head on battle, the assassin would have had no chance of harming the intruder. But the assassin had found the weakest point on the intruder’s feet with only a single attack of his dagger. Saleen saw all of this happen and knew that the intruder would surely die. Surrounding the intruder were hundreds of soldiers and low-grade mages. This intruder had no way of escaping anymore. Without his speed, the hundred low-grade mages could cast their spells continuously and torture the silver grand swordmaster to death. What was more was that the four black metal grand swordmasters had caught up with the intruder and had surrounded him.

“Who are you?” the intruder asked the assassin who had injured him, staring at him fiercely.

Bain looked at the silver grand swordmaster whom he had assailed and answered expressionlessly, “I am…”

Peng!

A blue fireball appeared in front of the intruder without any warning and exploded in front of his metallic face guard. The four black metal grand swordmasters then attacked him at the same time, and their long swords that were drenched in sword aura pierced into the intruder’s limbs all at once. This time, the armor could no longer protect the intruder. The swords penetrated through the areas of his joints and were stuck into the ground.

“Who I really am is unimportant. You will die anyway,” Bain replied. He then turned around and left.

“So much nonsense,” Sika mumbled as she watched the fight from afar.

“Sika, under normal circumstances, there should be no sacrifices during a battle. Without that nonsensical conversation, the fireball also could not have ended his life. The intruder was just trying to lure the viscountess out. Even if he had lost a leg, he could have possibly still killed a Grade 5 mage. It’s just too bad that he didn’t understand how precious the viscountess’ life is. She would never come out and meet him in person. The viscountess doesn’t need to know who he is, and wouldn’t have wanted to persuade him to surrender. So, the intruder’s plot was ultimately useless. He actually harmed himself in the end.”

As Saleen was explaining this to Sika, he actually grew alarmed. After Faerun had cast a Grade 8 spell, he had still had enough strength to cast a Grade 7 fireball. It seemed like Saleen’s magic chords were not the only ones that were special. There were so many mages on the Myers Mainland. Surely there were bound to be others who were special too.

Calculating the enemy’s remaining magic chords was something that the Figaro formula could never do. Saleen needed to quickly master the secrets inside of the Myers Goddess’ necklace.

A scalded face had been revealed after the metallic face guard of the intruder had been blown off by the fireball. His limbs were now broken, so he was no longer a threat. Faerun walked out from behind the cavalry soldiers. He walked in front of the intruder and simply laughed, saying, “Silver grand swordmaster? I only have one question. Tell me, were you sent by the people from the western region?

“Such delusion!”

The intruder was filled with contempt. He knew that he would never survive this ordeal, so he merely stared ferociously at Faerun. He wished he could devour this cunning mage.

“If you won’t speak, then I’ll cut you up slowly. Then, I believe I’ll surely get my answer,” Faerun said calmly. Even the four black metal grand swordmasters shivered when they heard what Faerun had said.

“Lord Faerun, Lord Faerun!” Nailisi suddenly shouted. Saleen berated her quietly, “Nailisi, don’t make trouble.”

Nailisi pulled on Saleen’s sleeve and begged, “Master, I need that person’s body.”

Saleen was stunned. He found himself with a dilemma. Nailisi was going to be an adult soon so she required lots of nutrition. The flesh from this silver grand swordmaster would be very useful for a little demon like Nailisi. But it did not seem like a good idea to allow his contracted creature to eat human beings.

That being said, she was not going to eat their own people. Nailisi was a little demon, and thus it was normal for her to eat just about anything.

Faerun turned and looked in Saleen’s direction. Even though the distance between them was at least a hundred meters, Saleen knew that Faerun could see his expression. Then, Faerun nodded hesitantly. After this, Nailisi walked over happily and said, “Sir, I have a way of making him talk.”

Following this, Faerun waved to the four black metal grand swordmasters. The four men lowered their swords. The intruder’s joints had been completely shattered. Even if the pope had been here, they would not have had any means of fixing his joints.

Nailisi leaned over and grabbed the intruder by one of the thorns on his heavy armor, picking him up. She looked around and found a tent, and went into the tent with the intruder.

With a crash, Nailisi dropped the intruder onto the ground. The intruder’s expression had not changed, and he said indifferently, “Are you going to use your beauty on me? I am afraid I am going to have to disappoint you.”

“Beauty? Am I very beautiful?” Nailisi pointed to her own face and asked curiously.

“You are not too bad. Even though I do not engage in prostitution, I remember a b*tch who looked a lot like you.”

“Like me? Was it like this?” Nailisi’s innocent expression suddenly transformed. Her mouth opened wider and wider, exposing the razor sharp teeth inside her mouth. Soon, Nailisi’s mouth had opened to a span larger than the intruder’s forehead. The intruder became extremely terrified, and with a shaking voice, he shouted, “A, a demon!”
