Chapter 30: Break Up

I opened the door and about 7 or 8 men in police uniforms got in one after
another. One of them, a fat corpulent middle aged man smiled with his eyes
squinted and looked at me," You must be Miss. Toland. I'm the chief of the Liang
city police department, William James. Nice to meet you!"
I nodded and led them to the lobby. Then I ran to the upstairs to call Wayne to go
downstairs.
After about half an hour, we already drunk several glasses of water. We were

Chief James put down his cup instantly and walked to Wayne with big steps. He

I made some cups of coffee in the kitchen and brought to them.
In the lobby, Wayne had his legs crossed, his sitting posture was sedate and

"Mr. Gilbert, my apology to bother you . About what happened yesterday, it was
my subordinates faults to listen the calumny said by Jerry Smith and nearly
caused a big mistake. I brought these men to offer an apology here. As for Nelly
and Jerry, I asked to caught them already. How about prosecute them with the
charge of libel and false accusation?"
Chief James looked at Wayne with a overcautious face and the men followed him
were chiming in with him with smiles. Lighted the cigarette and poured water for
him reverently.
"Do what you have to do about it."

"Mr. Gilbert, as a policeman, making a false accusation violates the law as he
knowing the law. Our department will be severe in treatment and make it clear for
you. Is Miss. Toland's injury any better?"
I passed the coffee in my hand to Chief James instantly," I'm fine, just slapped in
face for several times by them. It will be ok after some days. And...Right, I hope
Chief James can keep the secret about this issue. My friend is doing
entertainment business now. If this kind of issue is caught by the reporters, you
understand the consequence."
Chief James replied with smile," Of course, I will ask my subordinates to close
their mouths. Miss. Toland, it was our faults this time. This is my number, please

Chief James gave me his phone number and I wrote it down instantly.
The only reason I stayed with Wayne was getting the relationships in the police
department to investigate the abduction case, to find my sister!

Geoffrey and you?"

on my bed, revenge on Geoffrey and Katherine isn't it?" He sneered, the sight on
me was freezing cold.
I suddenly returned to my sense. Wayne would not mention this without any
reason. Did he heard the call between me and Merlin?
Then the sound of steps I heard was not an illusion at all. He really was there at
the door and heard the words I said.
"Wayne, you don't trust me? You think that I approach you and badger with you
to only revenge on Geoffrey?"
”Isn't it?"
I sneered," Wayne, I thought you had a high intelligence, but now, since this, your
brain does not work very well, too. Does a bastard deserve me to revenge on
and sacrifice my whole life's happiness to badger with you?"
"Lydia, I heard the conversation between you and Merlin last night without
leaving a single word behind by my own ears. You want to marry me and let
Geoffrey calling you sister in law!" He stared at me and his eyes were burning
red.
" Although I get in relationship with to revenge on Geoffrey, where you get the
rights to blame me? Are you far more better? You can't give me promise and
even a little sense of security. Maybe one day I will be kicked away. We are
together to take what we want from each other, aren't we?"
I said those words with one breath, then I looked at his eyes like that with a
emulative flame of anger raising in my eyes.
