Chapter 2284 - Primeval Source
"Where’d the nest go?"
"No idea."
"Heavens... what in the world is happening?"
Things had evolved beyond everyone’s imagination. People everywhere were at a loss for words. The entire planet was dead silent as their expressions turned more and more pale.
"No matter where they've gone, losing them is a huge blow for our entire mundus."
Everyone knew how serious matters were getting.
......
Feiling had just boarded a divine astralship at the Infinitum Swordsea when, all of a sudden, the silver butterfly in her hand stopped moving and turned back into an egg that had lost its luster.
"Yin Chen!" she cried out, but it didn't move in the slightest.
Xiaoxiao also had a few Yin Chens on her. She took them out and found that they looked dull, like Feiling's. "Ling'er, what's going on? Why isn’t Yin Chen reacting?"
"It means the main swarm has been moved into another world...." Feiling took a step back with a worried look on her face.
"Another world?" Moran seemed to be stumped as well, then recalled that Yin Chen had followed Lingfeng into the Xenoworld as well before losing touch with the main swarm.
"Does it mean they've gone to the Xenoworld instead of some other nova source world?" Xiaoxiao asked.
"It could also be some kind of ancestral world like the Primodragon World or Kunlan Realm," Feiling said.
Meow Meow's ability, the Triworld Afterlife Halls, reflected the base, alternate, and ancestral worlds in reality. Feiling had been to the Kunlan Realm and knew that the three worlds were completely different. The base world was split into ordered and chaotic realms. It was the baseline of the entire cosmos. The alternate world, or Xenoworld, was distant and foreign, holding the wondersky realms within it. There, distance was a concept that simply didn't exist. The ancestral worlds, however, were even more mysterious. They seemed completely isolated and independent, rather than being one contiguous world.
"Then what do we do? Will he be gone forever?"
It was just a minor fight for a ranking at the beginning, yet almost all the participants had been dragged into another world altogether! Feiling clenched her fists, being more concerned about Tianming than anyone else. The unmoving silver egg in her hand made her fraught with worry and despair.
"Let's head to the Oldgod Domain all the same." She chose to trust in and wait for him, just like how he had done the same when she was in the Kunlan Realm.
......
"Holy crap!" Tianming thought he was going insane. It felt like his entire body, head included, was about to explode. As he was feeling the worst of it, he passed out and was unable to hear the screams of Ying Huo and the rest. An indefinite amount of time passed before he finally heard their anxious cries once more.
He took a deep breath and opened his eyes. He saw the heads of a bird, cat, and two girl spiritforms. "Are you awake?" they asked in unison.
"Hey, Bug Li, I'm hungry," Xian Xian said.
"Ugh!" He felt his head burst with pain and couldn't help but touch it. The sensation of his hand brushing against his head made him flinch. It was no wonder Xian Xian had called him a bug!
"Damn it all!" He almost puked when he raised his Sky Plundering Eye toward his head. He had compound eyes, mandibles, and feelers. Was he still human?
"Don't panic. The good news is that your bee head isn't the ugliest one out of all the others'. You're one handsome bee! You'll get your pick of bee mates," Ying Huo said.
"Boss, the fact that you're still so handsome as a bee means that your original face already looked pretty good," Meow Meow excitedly said.
"You little monsters!" How could there be lifebound beasts that still joked around in a situation like that?! Were they really his sworn siblings for life?
"Don't get emotional, Little Bug Li. You're a monster like us from now on! Haha!" Lan Huang said as it popped out of Tianming’s lifebound space all excited.
"Poor Ling'er! I wonder if they'll still be able to bump uglies behind our backs," Meow Meow said.
"This is heavenly punishment! He was messing around with that vixen when he already had Ling'er, so the two of them got turned into bees! They deserved it!" Xian Xian said, shooting Tianming with a disdainful look.
"You should let go of Ling'er. Bees of a kind should flock together," Ji Ji said with schadenfreude, crossing its arms. The two spiritforms had been Feiling’s siblings in their previous lives, so they naturally wouldn't take Tianming's side. The main issue with that, however, was that Tianming didn't even want to be messing around with other women of his own volition.
"By the way, where am I?" He had been so distracted by his lifebound beasts that he didn't even scout out his surroundings. He looked around and found himself floating in some kind of misty-white space. He couldn't see very far, but he could feel some kind of weird power in the surroundings.
"Yin Chen! Where are you?" Tianming called out.
"Shut up... Too loud!" Five billion Yin Chens remained inside the lifebound space, lazily huddled together.
"Where are we?"
"Don't know! But other... clone bodies... lost connection... means we... are in... another world... probably an... ancestral world."
"Ancestral world?"
"That's right. The energy around us is called primeval source. It's an even older form of energy than fundamental cosmic force and is even easier to absorb and derive into other forces. It's about as ancient as my genesis ancestral nova source, but mine is volatile while this one's gentle," Ji Ji said.
"The source energy of a primeval ancestral world, huh?" Tianming felt it for a moment and was quite shocked. The energy in his surroundings was indeed completely different from stellunar and nova sources. It was gentle, rather unlike the more volatile fundamental cosmic forces, but it wasn't weak. There was a certain sense of weight, depth, and distance within it. He recalled feeling a similar energy when the dragonsoul of origin had come out of the Primodragon World all the way back in the territory of the Xuanyuan Dragon Sect.
Nova sources can usually form spheres to light up the universe. That was essentially how stars formed. Primeval sources, however, existed in the form of a spread-out mist in a similar vein to the spiritual energy of the Flameyellow Continent. Spiritual energy was like a soup of nova source, though, so it couldn't compare to primeval source in quality. Tianming's lifebound beasts had guessed that they were in a different world when they’d detected the different energy.
"Did the bees' nest bring me to this ancestral world? How could that even be possible? What ancestral world is this? The Primodragon World? The Kunlan Realm?" He was so confused that his brain was soup. Yin Chen would lose touch with bodies that were in the same world but too far away, let alone with bodies in a different world, so he couldn't contact Feiling at all. "What about Yi Taoyao?"
"She fainted, then was flung somewhere else."
Tianming had no sense of direction in this misty world at all. He sent Yin Chen out to scout. "Let's survive first, then we’ll look for a way to turn my head back. After that, we'll go back to Ebonia!"
