David stared at her with a look of understanding. novelbin

He reached out and rubbed his fingers against her face gently. “Don’t worry, I know what I should do.”

“I’m just worried that we will make Grandpa angry again.” Rachel tried to explain.

She had been chased out of the Grey family ever since her mother died. Not only had she lost the person closest to her in the world, but she also lost her home.

There were not many people she cared about in this world. Arthur was one of them.

If something happened to her grandfather because of her, Rachel would never be able to forgive herself.

David reached out and pulled her into his arms. He leaned over and kissed her forehead gently. “I know what to say and what not to say.”

“Let’s go then,” Rachel said.

David nodded. “Okay.”

Both of them then made their way into the private hospital.

In the quiet corridor of the high-class ward, one could hear the footsteps of the group.

Eddie was carrying a fruit basket and various health supplements.

Not long after, they arrived at the door of Arthur’s ward.

Rachel turned to look at David. He gestured with a look for her to open the door.

Taking a deep breath, Rachel pushed the door open.

They did not see Arthur in the ward. Instead, Tom was sitting on the couch.

Hearing footsteps, he instinctively looked up.

The moment he saw Rachel, the cold, hard look in his eyes became soft. “Rae-Rae…”

However, before he could finish speaking, he saw David behind her. His

expression immediately darkened. He did not bother to put on an act and asked curtly, “Mr. Jones, what are you doing here?”

Tom greeted David with hostility.

Rachel looked around the ward and was secretly relieved that Arthur was not present.

She decided that she would take the opportunity to win her uncle to her side since Arthur was nowhere to be seen.

“Uncle.” Rachel walked up to Tom, smiling. She pulled Tom to sit on the couch again. “I wanted to tell you later, but I guess it’s the best time now.”

As she spoke, she stood up again and ran to David’s side, holding his arm. “This is David Jones. He’s my boyfriend and fiancé now.”

The moment Rachel said that, a great surge of emotion swept through her.

So this was how it felt to officially introduce her boyfriend to her family.

“Rachel!” Tom narrowed his eyes and stared at her coldly. He gritted his teeth and suppressed the anger. “I dare you to say it again!”

Although he tried his best to restrain himself, there was still irrepressible anger in

his tone.

Rachel knew very well that her family was against their relationship. Not only did she bring him to the hospital, she even introduced David to him openly as her boyfriend and fiance.

Tom wondered if Rachel was trying to p*ss him off.

Rachel blinked. There was not a single hint of fear in her eyes. “Uncle, I know what you want to say, but I’m serious about this.”

Tom snorted and turned to look at David.

Given David’s status, he was indeed worthy of Rachel, but Tom just could not accept their relationship.

He felt that he had been robbed of his treasure.

He narrowed his eyes and stared at David.

David met his gaze directly. He still had the same nonchalant attitude, but the sharpness in his eyes gave him an air of authority.

Sensing the tension between the two men, Rachel tried to mediate. “Uncle, let’s have a drink.”
