Chapter 32: Misfortunes Never Come Singly
“That’s right, it’s really too bad.” Liu Weiqiu echoed, then turned and left with Miao Miaoqing.
The hateful Big Fat Raccoon Cat was truly like a dog biting Lü Dongbin – he didn’t appreciate kindness.
“Alright, Fat Cat Cat, they’re gone. Shall we eat cake?” Seeing the two leaving, the shop assistant smiled and scratched Li Li’s chin.
“Meow meow~ ?Of course.?” Li Li replied, and saw the chef already bringing over a basin of cake scraps.
Smelling the aroma of the cake, Li Li knew he hadn’t waited in vain.
“Not good, you two come back quickly. Teacher is taking attendance. I can’t help you anymore.” Meanwhile, in the lecture hall, the girl who saw the Guidance Director calling out names one by one quickly sent a message to the two, but she discovered that the Guidance Director was already walking towards her.
“Is student Miao Miaoqing here?” the Guidance Director asked, looking down, his eyes sweeping across Computer Science Class Two.
The students who were stared at lowered their heads one by one, for fear of being remembered.
With the silence in the classroom, the Guidance Director’s face darkened, like a volcano about to erupt.Seeing this scene, the students lowered their heads even further. And at this moment, a girl suddenly stood up from the crowd of bowed heads, instantly attracting everyone’s attention:
“Reporting Teacher, students Miao Miaoqing and Liu Weiqiu, they woke up late and are on their way.”
“Really? They really just woke up late?” the Guidance Director asked with a gloomy face.
“Yes, Teacher.” Hearing this, the girl nodded under immense pressure.
This was all she could do. If the two of them couldn’t make it back in time, there was nothing she could do.
“Then why did I see them walking towards the school gate before class?” Hearing this, the Guidance Director narrowed his eyes and said coldly, “As their classmate, you didn’t remind them to come to class, but instead covered up their truancy and lied to the teacher.”
“Do you know the consequences of doing this? Take your book and stand at the door. Before the next class, copy all the content from page one to page eighteen three times for me.”
“If there’s a next time? You’ll be given a major demerit.”
“Yes, Teacher.” Hearing this, the girl said with a mournful face. Now it was done, she failed to save the situation and got herself involved instead.
“But you, my friend, are a true hero.” Seeing this scene, the other students, though timid, looked at her with admiration.
She dared to lie to the Guidance Director to help her classmates. Her character was definitely commendable. Who wouldn’t want to make friends with such a person?
Under their gaze, the girl walked to the door with her book.
“Alright, let’s continue with the class now.” the Guidance Director said, and the students finally pulled their heads out from their collars.
“We’re screwed, we’re screwed. We didn’t bring Big Fat Raccoon Cat back, and the teacher found out about it. Now we’re both completely finished.” Looking at the message on her phone, Miao Miaoqing now understood what “misfortunes never come singly” meant.
She only hoped that the Guidance Director wouldn’t tell her parents about it, otherwise she would be doomed.
“Now you’re scared? Why didn’t you think about that earlier? Weren’t you quite tough before?” Liu Weiqiu said angrily. She wasn’t like this when she skipped class before. Why had she suddenly become a coward?
“I thought the teacher never took attendance, so it wouldn’t matter if we didn’t go this time. Who knew he would suddenly take attendance?” Miao Miaoqing muttered, feeling unlucky. It was really too unlucky. All the unlucky things were happening to her today.
“So you can’t have a fluke mentality. You’d better think about what excuse we’ll use later to get a lighter punishment.” Liu Weiqiu said. Punishment was inevitable, it was just a matter of what excuse they could come up with.
“If I could think of it, I wouldn’t have skipped class.” Miao Miaoqing said, spreading her hands.
“Then there’s no other way. We can only tell the truth. Hopefully, the teacher will let us off the hook considering it was for the club.” Liu Weiqiu sighed. The two ran towards the lecture hall.
But as soon as they reached the door, before they could speak, they saw the figure standing at the door with a resentful expression.
Instantly, their hearts sank.
It was completely over now. Even the one who tipped them off was caught. They didn’t stand a chance.
“Everyone, read your books for a while. You two come out with me.” the Guidance Director said, seeing this scene.
“Yes.” Liu Weiqiu and Miao Miaoqing nodded, their faces instantly turning bitter.
Liang Tiantian at the door could only wish them good luck.
“You two tell me, what did you do instead of attending my class?” the Guidance Director asked after taking them to the corridor, his eyes sweeping over their faces.
These two girls had good grades and were usually quite active in school. Why would they skip his class for no reason?
“We went to find Big Fat Raccoon Cat.” Miao Miaoqing said weakly.
“Yes, we didn’t see him from yesterday afternoon to this morning. Our club is responsible for the stray cats and dogs in the school, so we went to look for him.” Liu Weiqiu added, lowering her head, not daring to look him in the eye.
“Did you find him?” Hearing this, the dark clouds on the Guidance Director’s face immediately cleared up. So they went to find Fat Raccoon Cat. Come to think of it, he hadn’t seen that chubby fellow yesterday.
“Yes, he was in the Sleepless City outside the school, eating and drinking for free.” Miao Miaoqing said, her face full of grievances.
That d*mn Big Fat Raccoon Cat had made them suffer so much.
“Yes, we wanted to bring him back to school, but he refused to come back and even yelled at us.” Liu Weiqiu also said with a grievance.
“Although you two skipped class because of the club, it’s still a bad behavior.” After noting down the address of the Sleepless City, the Guidance Director looked at the two girls and said, “Take your books and stand at the door. Before the next class, copy page one to page fourteen three times for me.”
“Yes, Teacher.” Hearing this, the two girls quickly nodded.
They were really scared to death. They thought they would be reported to the academy. It turned out it was just standing and copying as punishment.
“Alright, go to class.” the Guidance Director said, turning and walking towards the classroom.
Liu Weiqiu and Miao Miaoqing quickly followed.
“Hey Qiu Qiu, the Guidance Director doesn’t seem as strict as the rumors say.” Miao Miaoqing whispered to Liu Weiqiu.
“Stop talking. Let’s think about how to get the copying done.” Liu Weiqiu replied.
She was still thinking about this? She should think about how to deal with so many words.
