Chapter 871 Let Go of Me
Gong Lu struggled, but he was no match for Yan Zhengchen. He was exasperated and wished he could bite him. “Yan Zhengchen, let go of me!”
“No way. Who asked you to not cooperate obediently? Be obedient and get the acupuncture. Don’t even think about resisting.” Yan Zhengchen shot Chi Jiao a look.
With the silver needles in hand, Chi Jiao slowly approached Gong Lu and inserted a needle.
The moment the silver needle went in, Gong Lu’s expression stiffened. He turned his head away, unwilling to look.
Fortunately, Yan Zhengchen was behind him. He loosened his hold and reached out to cover his eyes. “Don’t watch, then you won’t be afraid.”
Amused, Gong Lu snorted softly. “Do you think I’m a child?”
“Aren’t you? Only children are afraid of injections.” Yan Zhengchen raised his eyebrows and teased.
Gong Lu was angry. “Wrong. This is acupuncture. It’s scarier than an injection, okay?”
“Alright, if you say so.” Yan Zhengchen kept sneaking glances at Chi Jiao as he spoke. While she was performing the acupuncture, he purposely bickered with Gong Lu to divert his attention.
Chi Jiao’s actions were fast and precise. In no time, she had already inserted the needles into Gong Lu while they were talking.
After removing the needles, Chi Jiao heaved a sigh of relief and said with a smile, “Brother Lu, it’s done.”
“Done?” Gong Lu moved Yan Zhengchen’s hand away. After taking a look, he said seriously, “You’re finally done. It hurts.”
“Hurts, my ass. You were chatting so happily with me. Where did it hurt? Besides, our Jiaojiao is so skilled, how could it hurt?” Yan Zhengchen said in exasperation.
Gong Lu held his breath and started coughing violently again.
“Brother Lu will be feeling unwell for another half an hour or so. I’ll go brew some medicine for him now. He’ll be fine after taking the medicine and sleeping.” With that, Chi Jiao got up and walked towards the kitchen.
Yan Zhengchen nodded and asked Gong Lu to lie down and rest.
Although Gong Lu was lying down, his mouth was still restless. “If I say it hurt, then it hurt.”
Afraid that he would cough again, Yan Zhengchen stroked his hair and agreed helplessly. “Yes, yes, yes. If you say it hurt, it did. Hurry up and cover up. Close your eyes and rest for a while.”
After the acupuncture, Gong Lu did feel tired. He closed his eyes and he quickly fell asleep.
Yan Zhengchen watched over Gong Lu while Chi Jiao brewed medicine for him.
After drinking the thick bowl of medicine, Gong Lu’s condition improved a little. He closed his eyes and slept soundly.
Chi Jiao handed some small pills to Yan Zhengchen and whispered, “Brother Chen, these pills are to be taken three times, one pill a day. Give them to Brother Lu on time. I’ll leave first.”
Gong Lu’s health had deteriorated because he choked on water after saving Yan Zhengchen when he was young. Yan Zhengchen had taken care of him since he was young, and he knew Gong Lu’s health better than anyone else. Chi Jiao didn’t need to stay here forever. She just had to dispense the medicine.
Yan Zhengchen took the medicine and stroked Chi Jiao’s hair dotingly. “Alright, thank you for coming. When your Brother Lu recovers, I will find an opportunity to thank you properly.”

Gong Lu had yet to recover. Otherwise, Yan Zhengchen would have brought Chi Jiao out for a meal to thank her.
Chi Jiao could act coquettishly as much as she wanted in front of him. She smiled like a little fox. “Alright, then. I look forward to it. Brother, I still have something on. I’ll head back first. You don’t have to send me off.”
