Chapter 152: A Little Uncomfortable
Jiang Wan asked with a confused look, “Mr. Feng, what present? What score? Why are you saying something that I don’t understand?”
“You don’t understand? Doesn’t matter. You’ll understand soon enough.”
Feng Linbai said, “I don’t have much patience. I don’t want to talk nonsense. Just let the facts speak for themselves. Mr. Jiang, you should already have evidence on your phone. Why don’t you just show it to Miss Jiang, let her take a look, and confirm it?”
He said slowly, “That way, you can ease your guilty conscience.”
Jiang Wan’s face was still blank, as if she didn’t know what was going on.
Jiang Chenglang sighed.
He finally opened his mouth and said, “Wan Wan, there’s something that needs to be resolved today. Did you… say something to your uncle?”
Jiang Wan thought to herself, “It’s here, it’s finally here”.
When she had seen Feng Linbai appear earlier, she had already made a guess in her heart.
However, she was not afraid. It was because when she had chosen Lu Hetai, she had already thought of an alibi.
She had chosen him so that she could better shift the blame.
“Big Brother, I’ve told my uncle many things. What are you referring to?”
Jiang Wan asked doubtfully, “You know, my mother and uncle have a very good relationship. Uncle has always been good to me. Before Mother passed away, Uncle often came to the Jiang family to visit Mother and me. However, after Mother passed, I was the only one left in the Jiang family. Uncle is always busy, so he doesn’t come by often.”
“However, Uncle would call me from time to time to ask about my wellbeing. I, in turn, tell him everything so that he would not feel left out.”
“However, there are too many things that happen every day. I don’t remember what I’ve said either. Big Brother, what do you mean by asking me that?”
Jiang Chenglang could only ask further, “Did you tell him about Xiao Yu?”
“Yes.”
Jiang Wan nodded. “Uncle had heard about the news of my sister being found, so he asked about my sister’s situation. I naturally answered him…”
Feng Linbai rubbed his forehead. “Mr. Jiang, if you keep talking like this, how much longer will you have to talk? I’m getting sleepy listening to you.”
Jiang Yu yawned. “I am getting quite sleepy too.”
Feng Linbai immediately sat up straight and suggested, “Do you want to lean on my shoulder and rest for a while? You’ve finished the first half. I’ll handle the second half. You should rest first.”
Jiang Yu shook her head. “There’s no need.”
She leaned back. “This is good.”
Jiang Yu felt that the sofa was obviously softer than the bones in a person’s shoulder which was so hard. What’s so comfortable about leaning on it?
She planned to settle this matter once and for all but since Feng Linbai had said so, she decided to just watch the show from now on.
Jiang Chenglang looked at the interaction between the two of them and felt a little uncomfortable.
It was obvious that Jiang Yu was getting close to this man.
He already knew that Jiang Xingyi and Jiang Zeyu had interacted with Jiang Yu. The two of them were Jiang Yu’s older brothers. It was understandable for Jiang Yu to be close to them since they treated Jiang Yu well.
He also tried his best to make up to Jiang Yu for all the lost years. Alas, it was hard being the middle person trying to appease everyone. In the end, the younger sister that he had raised since young seemed to have changed into a different person. The younger sister that he had just acknowledged was closer to an outsider than him.
He did not have the right to say anything though.
Jiang Chenglang felt a headache coming on.
He pressed his temples and said, “Wan Wan, I think you still remember that there was a time when Xiao Yu came home late and there was some friction between the two of you.”
“At that time, Xiao Yu had come home late because something had happened outside of the school. A group of delinquent students wanted to cause trouble for Zeyu, Xiao Yu and Mr. Feng happened to be there.”
