As the evening unfolded at the gala, Emma’s keen observation skills noted the interaction between

“You know, it’s interesting how some people can’t see beyond their own ego,” Emma mused to Jada,

loss in the end.”
Jada nodded in agreement. “He’s definitely missing out on a great opportunity by underestimating you.
But, hey, there are plenty of other fish in the sea. We’ll find someone who appreciates what we bring to
the table.”

accuse me of the same. As if I haven’t worked hard to separate myself from the Hartley legacy.”
Alex’s response was measured, “Sometimes, our greatest strengths can also be our weaknesses.
Emma might rely on her family, but she’s proven her worth independently. Maybe it’s time to reconsider
your approach.”
Lennox pondered Alex’s words. He had always prided himself on his independence, but maybe he had
been too quick to dismiss others who didn’t follow the same path.
“Perhaps you’re right,” Lennox admitted reluctantly. “I may have let my desire to prove myself cloud my
judgment.”

the network and experience. It’s a win–win situation.”

“If I know Emma, she won’t let personal feelings interfere with a good business opportunity. I can talk to
her, see if she’s willing to discuss potential collaboration. What do you say?”
