Chapter 395 Sight Training: The Majestic

Chapter 395 Sight Training: The Majestic

Keng and Lily sat underneath the tree with their blindfolds wrapped around their eyes. Keng's head pounded as he struggled to keep the energy in his eyes. Colors of the forest surrounded him with black and red energy coming off of Elder Jyu'so and Gorrum. Lily's energy aura registered as yellow with musical notes coming off her.

He wondered if it was because of her pact with the two gods that made her aura like that. His staggered breaths grew louder as he released his concentration. The energy slowly poured out of his eyes this time while he gasped for air.

"Forty-two seconds. Not bad. You're beating your personal best this time." Gorrum commented. "Rest for a bit and then get back to training." Keng nodded as he leaned his head into the tree.

He didn't bother to take off the blindfold. The sunlight would only make things worse. He let out a sigh and settled into the tree. He could hear Lily and the two older Foxes talking amongst each other as Lily continued with training.

The pain in Keng's head seemed to phase as the energy colors started to dim. The colors were taking longer and longer to fade into nothingness. At first, he found it annoying but the wisps of colors were growing on him.

Keng was about to fall asleep when something bright to his right caught his attention. He suddenly rose up from his slouched spot and turned.

"Good, continue to do tha–" Elder Jyu'so stopped and turned to look where Keng was looking. The white and colorful balls quickly whipped past like wind.

"What is that?" Keng whispered.

"It seems even they're recognizing the changes of the forest." Gorrum whispered.

"What? What's happening?" Lily asked, peeling the blindfold off. She noticed the three guys were looking to her right. She turned and saw nothing. It was just a forest. "What's everyone looking at?"

"Do you think that was one of those Majestic magical deers?" Elder Jyu'so turned to ask Gorrum. Gorrum started to nod. "What were they called again?"

"The mountain folk call them Majesties." Gorrum replied.

"Around here they're called Majestic. The sea folk call them Twilight. They're good fortune." Elder Jyu'so explained.

"Oh, a Majestic? You saw one?" Lily looked up in excitement. Keng stood up and turned his attention to the others.

"That thing is good fortune?" Keng asked.

"Yes." Jyu'so nodded. "If you happen to see it, good fortune comes to you."

"And if you supposedly hunt one down, immense luck is given to the hunter." Gorrum added. "It's said they've grazed in the Fields of the Gods in the early days and that's why their antlers turned to metal and they're forms are unique."

"And they're good luck?" Keng asked.

"Yeah, even Dad talked about them. He said one of his old friends saw one and he gained power from it." Lily told them.

"I heard someone killed one and ate it and was given immense energy." Gorrum added.

"The stories are all positive about the Majestic." Elder Jyu'so looked over at Keng. "And you spotted it first. I think this is good for you and the land."

"Why?" Keng asked, pulling the blind off. His eyes stung as they started to adjust to the light. He hadn't even noticed his headache was gone.

"The land was cursed. If a Majestic is here, that means only good things will happen in the presence of a Majestic."

"I reckon a wager." Gorrum gave a toothy grin to Jyu'so.

"You honestly want to send them to try to hunt that thing down?" Jyu'so pointed behind him. "They barely can grasp the basics of Sigh Sensory. I don't think they're ready to follow and hunt a Majestic."

"It would be good practice for Keng." Gorrum motioned at Keng. "Weren't you the one who said he probably needs a more on hands approach? This is the best way to grow stronger. Who knows, he might actually kill a Majestic and reap massive benefits from it. L"

"Can I search for it too?" Lily asked.

"If you can produce better results, I'll let you in on it." Gorrum answered.

"I just want to see it. Mom says the Majestics might be better off living as a reminder of good fortune for all."

"Mmm, that's true as well. We don't know how many there are but for hunters, the Majestic are a test of patience and accuracy." Jyu'so nodded.

"For now, You can try to track that thing. Being in the same area as it before it leaves is already a major fortune. Killing it would just be a bonus for anyone." Gorrum shrugged.

"Killing it would be a feat for someone who was just recently born into this world." Jyu'so shrugged.

"Huh?" Keng looked at Jyu'so confused. "I'm Lee Seng's age. I'm not–"

"You may be a young adult but it doesn't mean you are, technically. You look like a young adult but you're still just a mere babe." Gorrum added.

"Which makes your existence even more strange. You should have merged with your Vessel's body and mind, but you stopped short of mind, completely." Jyu'so pointed out. "In actual terms, Lily would be older than you if we had to be specific."

"I-I'm older than him?" Lily asked, shocked.

"Yes. Technically you're older than him. Physical appearances mean nothing. In time I think Keng should shift to think and act like the age he's supposed to be. You might get some childish tendencies once in a while."

"Dad was right about the Fox Spirit creation… It's really confusing when the God King creates one…" Lily muttered to herself.

"The God King rarely creates new Fox Spirits but due to the human's progression, he thought it was time to integrate humans and Fox Spirits as one." Gorrum told the students. "You know how this is possible, right?"

"He creates basically a ball of energy, an 'egg' of sorts, that's inputted into a species that's compatible and it mutates and evolves to fit the needs of the Fox Spirit egg?" Lily answered.

"Partially correct." Jyu'so nodded. "When Fox Spirits first began to exist, the God King created Spiritual Eggs. These Eggs were a contained essence of the God King, himself. There were thousands of eggs. Out of the thousands, only one was accidentally placed into an animal — a snake."

"That's Eldest, isn't it?" Keng asked.

"Correct. Eldest Chimera was born from a snake. That's why one of their tails is a snake. They cannot change that part. God King Dathro found out he could embed the Eggs in creatures and began to do so with the next generations. He found out that the creatures must have some sort of 'want' in order to achieve this." Elder Jyu'so continued.

"That's why he asked Lee Seng…" Keng muttered. Gorrum and Jyu'so nodded.

"Overtime, the God King has sort of made 'pacts' with different creatures. They all want something, so he gave them a chance to have that." Jyu'so completed his thought.

"That's why the God King makes pacts nowadays." Gorrum spoke up. He had his arms folded together. "The human generation has only just begun. He's started offering humans the chance to turn into full fledge Fox Spirits, too."

"When did that start?" Keng asked.

"I would say maybe a hundred years or so? The humans were still weak back then but now they've changed to… What are they called, again?"

"Biohumans."

"Yes, Biohumans. Since they've changed, God King Dathro has started up with this, again. I guess we could say Keng and Lee Seng is the first few candidates."

"Who were the ones before him?" Lily asked.

"Nabi and Zixin?" Keng replied, looking between Gorrum and Jyu'so.

"No, those two have been here for years. The one right before you was a human boy…" Jyu'so rubbed his chin. "Right?" He looked over at Gorrum who seemed to be pondering the question.

"Y…Yes." Gorrum slowly nodded.

"What's his name? Where's he from? I might know him." Keng pressed.

"You wouldn't know him. Trust me, kid. He's from a place called Egypt." Jyu'so brushed him off.

"Woahhhhh! An Egyptian Fox… That's so cool."

"In terms of your progress, I think you progressed faster than he did. He might only be on the cusp of four tails."

"Can I meet him?" Keng asked with excitement. This was the first time he would be meeting a Biohuman Fox Spirit. Maybe he could understand the nature of Lee Seng and himself better if he met this guy.

"Last I checked, he was roaming around in Daros, still." Gorrum recalled. "He wanted to see Daros and decided to travel until he was satisfied. I haven't heard anything from the Gatekeepers about that one leaving… have you?" Gorrum looked at Jyu'so.

"No, I haven't." Jyu'so shook his head. "But that one likes to keep to himself. His human personality came through more than the Fox Spirit. I think that one considers himself a human still." Jyu'so brushed his chin. He looked over at Keng. "Not sure if he'd interact with you. He could probably tell the difference between you and Lee Seng."
