Chapter 468: A Fatal Strike (Part Two)
Many people were destined to spend a turbulent Chinese New Year.
Family Ji, for example.
The capital chain of Family Ji’s Enterprise had broken down.
The old lady, Ji Minjue and Ji Minyu had taken out large amounts of capital from the enterprise because of which Family Ji’s Enterprise was experiencing a cash crunch and many employees failed to get the salary and bonus at the end of the year.
The staff joined forces and collectively sued Family Ji’s Enterprise.
Under pressure, Ji Bo gave away the position of President and all the shares in his hands.
Without the capital, Family Ji’s Enterprise would be an empty shell that could not go on functioning. Also, the daily losses could reach hundreds of millions, which was not something Ji Bo or Family Ji could absorb.
Ji Bo did not want his own enterprise to collapse so fast. So he agreed to give away everything to keep Family Ji’s Enterprise functioning properly.
Because of Ji Bo’s agreement, the capital that had been taken away was put back in by the seniors.
After the staff received the delayed salary and bonus, they recalled the lawsuit but they no longer trusted the enterprise.
Also, Family Ji’s Enterprise was obviously going down and the staff was in a panic. Those who had the ability of switching jobs, had already done so.
Although Ji Minyun had implemented a series of new measures to gain the trust back after he regained his position as president, the effect didn’t turn out to be great.
By the end of February, the losses of Family Ji’s Enterprise reached as much as 70 billion yuan, and was still increasing.
After the Chinese New Year, Jing Yichen had a meeting with Ji Bo.
He suspected that Zhao Anan’s disappearance was Ji Bo’s work.
But after a few moments of conversation, it turned out that Ji Bo had no idea of Zhao Anan’s disappearance.
Ji Bo looked rather distracted. He was completely confused by what Jing Yichen asked him.
He had thought that Jing Yichen was seeking a collaboration with him.
Well, Jing Yichen wouldn’t be so kind-hearted!
They were like water and fire. Jing Yichen was already being nice enough not to have killed him.
Jing Yichen would not have cared, agonising and torturing him until he died. But now he had Shangguan Ning, so he was acting carefully and trying not to do anything unnecessary.
Anxious and irritated, Ji Bo found it to be humiliating that he had been defeated before he could even do anything to Jing Yichen.
Jing Yichen understood exactly what Ji Bo was thinking. He looked up and said in composure, “I can collaborate with you.”
Ji Bo looked hopeful again. But he said anxiously, “What do you want me to do?”
Jing Yichen sneered. “What else? What I want is my own thing – Jingsheng’s shares!”
Ji Bo’s hopes dashed and he said instantly, “That’s impossible!”
It was his last card, one that couldn’t be used easily!
What was more, he had struck a deal with Jing Yiran – The shares of Jingsheng he had, could only be the exchanged for the shares of Family Ji’s held by Jing Yiran, one vs another.
The deal was made back then because both sides needed to consider the possibility that either of the enterprises could collapse one day.
For example, at the moment, when Family Ji’s Enterprise was still functioning, the stock price was no more than 1/3rd of Jingsheng Enterprise’s share value. It would be an unreasonable deal if 20% shares of Jingsheng were used to get back 20% shares of Family Ji’s Enterprise.
“If you give back the shares of Jingsheng, you can get my help. Else, you will get nothing in the future.”
Ji Bo was indeed in need of help, but Jingsheng’s shares were the most valuable bargaining chip he had at the moment. He must consider carefully before making a proper decision.
“I will have nothing if I hand over the shares!” A bitter smile hovered over Ji Bo’s skinny face.
“Not true.” Jing Yichen didn’t speak loudly, but intensely. “If you give me back the shares of Jingsheng, I will help you get back Family Ji’s Enterprise. No one except for me can reach that goal, not even Yang Muyan.”
Ji Bo was slightly moved.
Because he knew that Jing Yichen was right – not even Yang Muyan could achieve that.
No one was allowed to participate in Family Ji’s Enterprise. With people of Family Ji’s Enterprise out for her blood, Yang Muyan couldn’t do anything at all.
Also, Yang Muyan felt that Ji Bo had lost his value. He could no longer be used to bring down Jingsheng or Family Jing. So she had lost interest in Ji Bo.
Also, because of Ji Lili, Yang Muyan was now on bitter terms with Family Ji. Without any help from Jing Yichen, everyone in Family Ji would want Yang Muyan to die!
Ji Bo had changed after she appeared and became Family Jing’s enemy, otherwise things wouldn’t have been this bad.
Everyone in Family Ji knew that Family Jing was not to be irritated. When Ji Lili was beaten up last year and so much money had to be given away as compensation, Family Ji did nothing but tolerate it. Ji Bo had been tolerant back then but now he was so bold as to want to consume Family Jing. It was nothing but a foolish dream!
Ji Bo must have truly been bewitched by Yang Muyan. He thought that with a fierce woman like Yang Muyan and a traitor, Jing Yiran helping them, Family Jing would collapse.
He had overestimated his own people and underestimated his rival.
But it was already too late to regret whatever he had done.
He was in the same boat as Yang Muyan and Jing Yiran. He could fight to the end and maybe he would be able to beat Jingsheng someday, or he would become a hobo, instantly.
Ji Bo had no idea if it was still not too late for him to get off the boat. He was not sure if Jing Yichen would really help him to get back whatever he had lost.
He didn’t trust Jing Yichen.
Because if he had been in the position, he would not have forgiven a rival like him.
One thing was sure that he was in an absolute disadvantageous position at the moment.
Ji Bo didn’t speak and Jing Yichen didn’t urge him, either. He was here to see Ji Bo for Zhao Anan and not to get back the shares. Jing Yichen had mentioned about shares as an offhand remark.
After knowing that Zhao Anan had not been taken by Ji Bo, he lost interest in further conversation.
Jing Yichen was definitely going to take back the shares. He would never allow the shares of Jingsheng to be in the hands of an outsider.
Ji Bo had got one thing right. Jing Yichen would not have forgiven him so easily. Jing Yichen had every reason to kill him, especially when he decided to collaborate with someone to set a trap for him and Shangguan Ning.
Shangguan Ning had defended Ji Bo because she thought that Ji Bo had not hurt her but defended her.
But Jing Yichen didn’t think so. As long as Ji Bo was involved, he would be destined to die!
