Chapter 486: Little Jing Rui Part One
In a ward of the Mu’s Hospital, a mother and a baby were lying in bed, and a handsome man was seated by the bedside.
Shangguan Ning had been sleeping for quite some time now. In the dream, she saw that she had fallen off from a high altitude and was immersed in freezing sea water.
She wanted to scream out, but she could not utter a sound.
“Ning, Ning! Wake up, you are dreaming again, wake up now!”
Shangguan Ning suddenly woke up when she heard the familiar voice.
She opened her eyes and that familiar and handsome face greeted her eyes.
“Yichen...”
She spoke softly, but the voice sounded hoarse as if she had not had water for days.
Jing Yichen took hold of her hands and whispered in a concerned voice. “Did you have a bad dream? Don’t worry, I am here.”
Shangguan Ning smiled and was about to speak when she felt enormous pain in her lower body, reminding her of what had just happened.
She turned her head instantly and a smile hovered over her face when she saw the sleeping baby next to her.
She took hold of her son’s lovely hand and asked softly. “Is the baby okay?”
Jing Yichen’s tired face also showed joy as he threw a glance at the sleeping baby. “Don’t worry, Grandpa Mu has checked him. He says that even if he is born two months earlier, he is still very strong, 2.95 kilos, almost 3, as heavy as normal children.”
It was quite healthy of the baby to be born at almost 3 kilos when he was only 7 months old in the belly.
Grandpa Mu said that the baby was well developed and had taken abundant nutrients from the mother. Although Jing Yichen had been by their bedside the entire night, he didn’t feel tired at all.
Jing Yichen felt his heart fill with pleasure when he saw his wife and son lying in front of him, safe and sound.
He had been prepared for the worst. He had believed that even if they lost the child, he would not suffer so much, as long as Shangguan Ning was fine. They could still have children in the future.
Unexpectedly, however, Mu Xin had inherited Grandpa Mu’s professional skills and made sure that both the mother and son were fine. It had not been an easy task.
Seeing his little son sleeping by his wife’s side, Jing Yichen felt his heart melt at the sight of the cute hands and feet.
He would definitely have torn apart Jing Yiran had something happened to his child.
Anyways, Jing Yiran must be suffering now. He would definitely have regretted being born in this world after ending up in Lu’s hands.
Hearing that the child was fine, Shangguan Ning let out a sigh of relief. She held her son’s tender hands and kissed them gently.
She felt her heart soften when she saw the baby next to her and thought that it did not matter how much pain she had gone through, as long as she managed to deliver him fine. This was her deep love towards her child.
Mother’s love was tremendously strong, otherwise Shangguan Ning didn’t think that she would have pulled through this.
She threw a look at Jing Yichen and then at the child, and said with a smile, “Do you think that the baby looks like you?”
Jing Yichen saw Shangguan Ning’s pale face and sounded gentle and spoiling. “Yes, and he looks like you too. He is very good-looking. He will love and respect you deeply, when you suffered so much giving birth to him.”
He did love his one-day old son, but he was more concerned about his wife who had suffered so much in childbirth.
Shangguan Ning smiled and happiness was dancing all over her face. She sounded hoarse, but she sounded gentle. “It is okay that I suffered a bit. That is what childbirth is like! All is worth the while as long as our son is fine.”
She still felt a bit scared when she thought of being pushed off the bridge and falling into the water.
Her son could have been in her belly for two more months, but now he was brought to this world by force. Shangguan Ning felt very sorry to have done this to her son.
She didn’t care if her son would love and respect her. What she wanted was for her son to grow into a healthy man.
Jing Yichen could see that Shangguan Ning was feeling guilty.
He held Shangguan Ning’s hand and said in a soft voice, “Ning, don’t blame yourself. If someone should be blamed, it would be me. Don’t worry, I will definitely take revenge, and will not allow Jing Yiran to live any longer.”
Jing Yichen sounded gentle, yet determined.
Shangguan Ning was aware that he was really angry this time. She also wanted Jing Yiran to die as soon as possible, but she was also worried that what Jing Yichen was doing would make his relationship with Jing Zhongxiu worse.
After all, Jing Yiran was part of the bloodline of the Jing Family and was Jing Zhongxiu’s second son.
Jing Yichen already guessed what Shangguan Ning was thinking, judging from her expression. He said softly, “Don’t worry about Dad. This time, he has crossed the bottomline and neither Dad or Grandpa would forgive him for that.”
If Jing Yiran’s plan had been to only get the shares and the rights of inheritance from him, Jing Zhongxiu and Jing Tianyuan would have spared his life. But what he had done was to make use of Shangguan Ning and even threatened her and her child. That was something neither Jing Zhongxiu nor Jing Tianyuan would tolerate.
Shangguan Ning let out a sigh of relief. As long as the father and son relationship would not be affected, then all was fine. They had just made peace and must not become estranged just because of Jing Yiran. It was not worth the while.
Shangguan Ning calmed herself and stared at her son. She kept smiling and then thought something suddenly – her son had not been given a name yet. She turned to Jing Yichen and asked with twinkling eyes. “Has Grandpa got a name for the little fellow yet?”
The couple had chosen some names for the child before, but were rejected by Jing Zhongxiu and Jing Tianyuan. That had upset the couple.
Jing Tianyuan didn’t care if his grandson was annoyed, but he was worried that Shangguan Ning would not be happy about it. So he had explained to her that the naming of the child should be based upon the time he was born at, alongwith the date of birth and the eight characters of the horoscope.
Shangguan Ning did not have a deep knowledge about this, nor did she believe much in it. But giving a meaningful name was important too, so she was not too upset about it.
For her, it did not matter who named her son. Since the Old Master knew so much about I Ching and the Eight Diagram, she would leave the matter to him.
