Chapter 57 The Weak Don't Get To Choose How They Die
Various sighs of relief and tears of joys was expressed on the faces of the students. Some slumped to the ground, crying their tears eyes at having survived the horrific experience while some just directly fell unconcious from shock.
The once nest and green land was now coated with pools of blood, uneven slices of human flesh and intestines lying about like snakes. There was even a leg that had been seoersted from its owner, jumping about from previous reflex. It was a sight chilling scene.
Erian was no exception. He slumped to the ground, gasping heavily for breathe as he held his bent arm that was coated in his blood. His blue clothing had changed color to brown from the blood he had vomited earlier.
There was a voice in his mind, telling him that his opinion of choosing this university was the worst he had made so far in his entire life. Just the entrance examination was already making him regret selecting the War God University. But as the saying goes, 'An already fired bullet cannot be retracted' he had begun this journey, it's only right he sees it to the end.
"Diiiiiiing!"
A loud bell like sound echoed and then, there was a loud whoosh as the sky seen to open up, causing an intense brightness to cascade down. The Colosseum's roof released a mechanical sound as it opened up, a large mechanical platform descended down from the skies.
This immediately attracted the attention of the surviving students, they looked up at the descending platform.
Erian could vividly see seven figure standing on the platform as it stopped twenty meters above the ground.
They had the Wargod badge on them which was a dark enlarged fist covered in flames made from pure radiation implosion.
The air around them rippled with intense radiative energy, bending the lightwaves around them.
It was very similar to they wavy air usually above large amounts of gasoline. Except this were pure human, not gasoline.
There was this slight indifference on their faces. One which cannot be faked. It was a deep-rooted disdain of an higher being possess over a lower being. Like a predator watching over its prey. As the seven people gazed down at the men and women, there was this slight pressure as the youths immediately looked down. No one dared looked upon their faces.
It could be the fact that their entire body structure had evolved, advancing further than the capable human limit. Just the sight of them inspired the teenagers, making them perk up in attention.
"We are third year students of this university and my name is Volgulf. Congratulations on passing the entrance examinations and welcome to the University, children of chaos. Since we are now fellow students, there's no need for me to be hard on you." The white haired man's gruff voiced boomed, it's soundwaves bouncing back and forth on the walls, creating echoes within Colosseum until it eventually faded.
"A little less than 50 percent of you survived the test, which is quite a surprising feat. Compared to the previous batches, you fellows are a little bit more talented." The white haired man's gaze stroked softly through the students and seemingly stopped when he reached Erian before he withdrew as though it was only a casual glance.
"This was a test to determine your compatibility to our university and you passed. The university has always being fair, you risked your lives to pass the entrance examination, equal rewards are to be granted. The transmission to your evolution to a Titan will commence. Prepare your minds as this is only the beginning!"
Instantly, the nearly four hundred students left began to tremble in excitement. The near death experiences they suffered previously had almost vanished like a smoke in that instant. The fast-pace transition was the main reason some of them decided to select this academy even at the risk of dying because they were well aware that other universities uses a different method. In the other universities, apart from the entrance examinations, several conditions and tests are to be met before a student can be qualified for the Titan Gene transition.
Incontrovertible, even rare geniuses with 6-stars also had to go through a few months of mental and physical training before being injected with the Titan serum those below will have to fight for a quota in the transition process. Which includes tests in radiation knowledge, physical combat and mental awareness. The quotas for the serum is limited, therefore they have to cut some students off till another opportunity arrives.
But the War God University takes an entirely different and bloody route. Just the entrance examination had eliminated over half of the youths, literally. Befitting the amount of quota they could provide this year.
Erian's expression froze. Amongst the seven Titan seniors, although for just a moment, he felt the female senior's eyes land on him and his entire body shivered. The air around his warped as the radiation within his body erupted beyond his control! The hairs all over his skin suddenly stood on end and even with the immense pain he was feeling, adrenaline still kicked in, making his heart thump heavily as blood coursed through his veins. His entire muscles bulged and green veins wriggled over his body like little snakes. Just this little action and Erian's internal injuries resurfaced.
"Hmph!" "Pffft!"
Erian managed to close his mouth, but still, blood spurted out from the corner of his lips like an half covered rushing pipe. His pores were like tiny holes of a running pipe as blood also spurted out from his erupted veins through his skin.
His face turned white as sheet as blood drained from his face. It took all the energy within Erian's body to prevent himself from falling to his knees. "Quick, absorb the radiation in my body!"
Instantly, his churning radiation was sucked into his system energy storage, leaving him with a few that could sustain his body system.
His eyes immediately turned red in absolute fury and he clenched his teeth to the point where it released several crackling sounds as he glared upwards with defiance. There was no need for him determine what he did, nor did he need to know if he was being tested. This lady had almost killed him with just her glare just now and if he hadn't reacted, he might have died from his injuries.
