Eddy looked at Caroline. All the words he wanted to say were stuck in his throat.

Caroline looked at him and asked, “What is it?”
“Grandpa has been in bad health recently. You should visit hi
more often if you have time. Also,
he really hopes we can be together, so I hope you won’t say such hurtful words when you see him.”
Caroline pursed her lips. After a while, she said, “I’ll make sure to visit him.”

After a long while, Eddy raised his head, his eyes still full of conflict.
“I think you’re right, Uncle Kirk. The reason I want Caroline is because I’ve lost her once. Maybe I
wouldn’t want her anymore when I get her back.”
The coldness in Kirk’s eyes disappeared to some extent. He stood up and patted Eddy on the
shoulder.
“That’s right, so don’t think about Caroline anymore. Just keep your distance from her, and you’ll
slowly realize you’re not in love with her. You simply want to have her.”
