Kirk also sat up and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Caroline quickly hugged him, his warmth raising her body temperature. However, she still couldn’t stop her arms from trembling.

“Darling.” Kirk slowly let go of Caroline. He looked into her eyes and asked again, “Are you sure it’s
not a nightmare?”
“No,” Caroline denied. “It’s probably just a bit of hysteria. I’m fine. You should go back to sleep.”
Kirk looked at her silently for a moment before patting her head. “Okay, you too.”
However, Caroline didn’t fall asleep after lying down on the bed. Whenever she closed her eyes,
she could see Jude in front of the bed, looking at her.
Kirk didn’t sleep tonight, either. However, neither of them said anything.
When dawn arrived, Caroline found an excuse to leave the house. Then, Kirk got up and called
Sean. “Where’s Michael?”
Michael Caldwell was the chief physician of the psychiatric medical team that Sean had invited. They had talked about Caroline’s situation on the phone.
Yet Michael believed that Caroline didn’t need the help of a medical team at the moment, and it
was best if she could get over the trauma of Jude’s death alone.
