Caroline frowned at Eddy’s words. He was insane.
The fact that Layla was his savior didn’t have anything to do with whether she remembered the
past.
“So is that why you’ll indulge her unconditionally, even if she almost killed me? You did that just because she had saved you once?”
Eddy looked at Caroline questioningly. “Do you really not remember what happened when we were children?”
Caroline asked, “What?”
“I’m talking about the time when we were kidnapped.”
Then, Eddy recounted precisely what had happened more than a decade ago. After speaking, he looked at Caroline expectantly, hoping to see some changes in her expression.
However, his expectations were dashed.
Caroline shook her head. “I have zero recollection of that incident.”
“You must have shut those memories away. Grandpa said that you went abroad after that incident.

support.”
“Psychological support?” Some more memories crossed Caroline’s mind, but they were clear as day this time.
She had been around six years old back then. One day, Sarah had taken her to a doctor, and Caroline had even pronounced the word “psychiatrist” perfectly.

Eddy frowned, feeling as if she were throwing him away after using him. But Caroline had already
lowered her head and started to work.
Eddy stood up in resignation. But after taking a few steps, he remembered the actual reason he
had visited Caroline.
He turned around and asked, “Caroline, do you know that Collins Group is about to be auctioned?”
Caroline looked up at Eddy silently, waiting for him to continue.

Caroline blinked at his words. “What are you trying to say?”
