Chapter 820

“Having dinner outside isn’t as good as the food you get at home,”Betty said.

Then, she turned to Caroline. “Carrie, how are your cooking skills?”

“Decent,” Caroline modestly replied.

“Decent is good enough. You should stay and cook a meal for Adrian. Let me taste your cooking as well.

Is that okay?”

Betty leaned in close to Caroline’s ear and whispered, “Carrie, I’m actually tired of eating the meals

prepared by those chefs every day.”

Since Betty said so, Caroline couldn’t refuse her request.

“Sure. I’ll prepare ingredients and make a meal for everyone. But if it doesn’t taste good, please go easy

on me.”

Betty laughed. “Who would dare to complain? I’ll make them eat the chef’s food for a month as

punishment, and I won’t even let them change the menu.”

Everyone laughed.

Adrian stayed for dinner before leaving. To express her gratitude, Caroline escorted him to the door.

“Thank you so much for coming all the way here.”

Adrian raised his hand to stop her. “Caroline, you’ve said thank you at least ten times tonight. I didn’t give

you gifts for the sake of receiving your thanks.”

“Then what are the gifts for?”

Adrian looked at her clear eyes, feeling a lump in his throat.

“What’s wrong? Did I say something?” Caroline asked in confusion.

“No.” Adrian smiled.

“I have to go. You should go back.”

Caroline nodded and walked back in.

Adrian stood in place, silently watching her until her figure completely disappeared. He then reluctantly

turned away.

However, at that moment, a car came rushing from a distance, directly colliding with his car as if it had

gone mad.

Adrian’s face changed. He was about to check who the drunkard was when he saw a young woman

stepping out of the car.

Yvonne stormed up to him and slapped him without hesitation.

The sound echoed clearly through in the spacious courtyard.

Adrian turned his head around to look at Yvonne in front of him.

“What’s gotten into you?”

Despite being good-tempered, Adrian was simmering with anger.

Yvonne didn’t realize what she had done until she had slapped Adrian. But soon, she raised her head

defiantly, staring right at him.

“Nothing. I just wanted to hit you. Men like you, who act cheap, deserve to be slapped and have some

sense knocked into them.”

Yvonne’s self-righteous tone made Adrian snort.

“Yvonne, my patience with you is limited. If you continue to bother me, I’ll go to court and file for a

restraining order. Then, you won’t be able to show up in front of me.”

Yvonne’s expression changed, but she wouldn’t allow herself to lose to Adrian.

“Why are you acting so high and mighty? Aren’t we the same? We have both been pitifully rejected by the

others.”

Adrian laughed at Yvonne’s provocation.

“Yvonne, we are different. You’re a lovesick lunatic, but I’m rational. Even if I can’t have Caroline, I won’t

go crazy and hit the other people like you did.”

“So you really love… Caroline?” Yvonne gritted her teeth in anger.

Adrian glanced at her, then bypassed her, and walked toward his car.

Just as he took a few steps, Yvonne suddenly hugged his waist. “I won’t let you go! You’re not allowed to

leave! I won’t allow you to loye Caroline. You must love me!”

Listening to her irrational words, Adrian sneered and heartlessly pried Yvonne’s hands off.
