Chapter 334 Crisis of the studio
Assistant Liu stood in the middle of Gu Yan’s office, looking at Gu Yan anxiously. The studio was in a mess.
“We can borrow some money from the bank. In addition, you can try to contact the regular customers of our studio. Maybe they can help us due to the previous cooperation...”
Gu Yan was bending over the desk with her head deeply buried between her arms and her red and swollen eyes rubbing between her sleeves. She lowered her tone and said hoarsely.
“I’ve been to the bank, but they delay to lend money. I suppose that someone tampered with it. What’s more, those regular customers are fence sitters who are easily to be swayed by the rumors. It’s hard to get in touch with them, not to mention lending us money. We can’t count on those selfish people who only focus on their own interests.”
Assistant Liu replied. She could not help complaining and cursing them.
“Forget it. I didn’t expect much from them. I assumed that they might lend us some money, but I never expected that they were so heartless. Forget it.” Gu Yan raised her head slightly and looked at Assistant Liu with red and swollen eyes. She was so depressed.
“How long can the studio hold out now?” Gu Yan held her hands tightly in front of the desk, and kept turning her thumbs. With her eyes straight ahead, she was thinking about something.
“Well, you are responsible for comforting our staff in the next few days and I will find another way.”
“No problem, President Gu. Take it easy, and we can make it.” Assistant Liu hid a pile of resignation letters behind her. The employees had already known the crisis. They had found other jobs and most of them were waiting for the approval of the resignation so that they could move on to other companies.
On the one hand, Assistant Liu hated that kind of people who resigned when their company was in trouble. But on the other hand, she understood them to some certain degree. She couldn’t persuade them from staying and fighting for their studio because most people were selfish and everyone had their own choice.
“What’s that in your hand”? Gu Yan noticed that Assistant Liu was hiding something. She could probably guess what they were from Assistant Liu’s nervous expression.
“Nothing. President Gu, I will go back to work if you don’t need me. Our colleagues are still keeping on working and we also hope you can cheer up. We will get through this crisis! Everything is going to be OK.”
Assistant Liu loved the studio as much as Gu Yan. They saw its growth and had fought together and went through countless difficulties. No one would be comfortable when the studio was in such a huge crisis.
Assistant Liu knew she would stay with the studio to the last moment even if many colleagues had already left.
“Well. By the way, has Jiang Jingcheng come to work yet?” Gu Yan was still had a glimmer of expectation to Jiang Jingcheng because she thought he betrayed her and the studio perhaps with some reasons or difficulties. Jiang Jingcheng might have his own difficulties. Gu Yan had expectations to him.
“No. I had never seen him since that day, and he hadn’t answered my phone. What the hell is wrong with him? He left the studio without a word at the crucial time. How vile he is. I must have been blind to crush on him. He really sucks.”
Assistant Liu hated Jiang Jingcheng because he had cheated her and hurt her so much.
“However, I called his friends. He has been drinking in the bar in recent days. He got drunk every day. It seems that he cannot recover after the setback. I am wondering what happened to him?” Assistant Liu’s words caught Gu Yan’s attention.
“Which bar?”
“Wanle Bar. We have passed it last time...” Assistant Liu found the bar’s location on the map and showed to Gu Yan.
“Good. You go with me. Let’s find him and ask him what exactly happened? Why could our plan be leaked at that noon? I think it was he who leaked the plan.” Gu Yan took her coat and pulled Assistant Liu to look for Jiang Jingcheng.
“But I don’t want to see him. We just broke up and I...I hate to see his treacherous face. He cheated me. To his achieve goals, he tried all sorts of tricks, as cruel as a wolf!”
Assistant Liu was hesitated and refused to look for Jiang Jingcheng. She tore free from Gu Yan and just stood still. From her serious look, it was obvious that she hated Jiang Jingcheng very much.
“Don’t you want to know why he did that? You have to give him a lesson and tell him that women can’t be bullied at random. Liu, you can’t be hurt by him in vain. You have to let him get the punishment he deserves!” Gu Yan persuaded Assistant Liu. She knew Assistant Liu had been frustrated about what happened recently. She also knew Assistant Liu just pretended to be strong after a failed relationship.
But Assistant Liu had no time to be sad because of a lot of tough work to be done. She had to work hard to forget the sorrow.
“But what’s the point? We can’t get back together because he doesn’t love me at all. No matter how hard I try, I cannot change the fact. President Gu, I really don’t want to see him again.” Assistant Liu lowered her head, full of grievances. Tears ran down her cheeks, which made Gu Yan sorrowful.
“All right. It’s okay. You don’t need to see him if you don’t want. I will figure out what the hell is wrong with him?” Gu Yan was angry because the man she hated most in her life was the womanizers. They were the most disgusting and pathetic.
“President Gu, I know he had been contacting with a woman for days. Actually, I felt something wrong with him earlier but I was so stupid that I was deceived by his blandishments.”
“I think he isn’t simple. There must be someone with strong background who was hard to deal with supporting Jiang Jingcheng. You should be careful!” Assistant Liu suddenly thought of the abnormality of Jiang Jingcheng a few days ago, which might have an unusual connection with the crisis.
Gu Yan glanced at Assistant Liu wonderingly and realized the seriousness of the matter. “A woman? Who have I offended?” Gu Yan thought. She could only thought of Chen Qian and Li Yunhong. Gu Yan was determined to find the truth and show the public that her studio was innocent.
“All right. Don’t be so sad. Take care of yourself. I will handle the rest work. There are other fish in the sea. A man who doesn’t love you is unworthy of your tears.”
Gu Yan patted Assistant Liu on her shoulder to give her silent comfort. She hoped that Assistant Liu could get through the difficulties and cheer up again.
