Building a Business Empire with my Technological System

Chapter 235: The Revenge?

Chapter 235: The Revenge?

January 4th, 2028

Elena Skies sat in her office, tapping her fingers on the desk. The launch event for Reyes Corporation's VR technology had just ended, and she was worried. The VR system Michael Reyes showed off looked a lot like the one developed by VirtuReal Innovations.

Elena quickly called for an emergency meeting with the founders of VirtuReal. Within an hour, Dr. Emily Harper, Dr. Rajesh Patel, and Sarah Johnson were gathered in the conference room. They all looked concerned.

"We have a serious problem," Elena began. "I watched the launch event for Reyes Corporation's VR system. It looks almost exactly like our VirtuReal prototype."

Dr. Harper frowned. "I saw that too. The interface, the immersion, even the AI – it's just like what we've been working on."

Dr. Patel nodded. "It's too similar to be a coincidence. We've kept our work secure, but this looks like they have access to our technology."

Sarah Johnson looked worried. "Do you think someone leaked our work?"

"Perhaps we should make sure of it," Elena said. "Considering that they are too similar to your designs, there might have been some sort of breach. But it's impossible, like you three aren't acquainted with Mr. Reyes am I right?"

"We read and watched about him but we never actually got to see him," Patel confirmed.

Dr. Harper added, "Our security is top-notch. There's no way an unauthorized third party could have easily accessed our data without leaving some traces."

"But there was no intrusion or any kind of obvious breach," Patel continued. "We need to dig deeper to find out how this happened."

"Wait, are we accusing the Reyes Corporation of infringement? Yes, I agree they looked the same as our prototype, but it doesn't mean we should jump to conclusions," Sarah interjected.

Elena sighed. "We're not accusing them without evidence. But we can't ignore the similarities. Emily, get your team on the security logs immediately. Rajesh, work with the tech team to compare our specs with what Reyes showcased. Sarah, coordinate with legal to prepare for any necessary actions."

The team dispersed quickly, each heading to their tasks with determination. Elena returned to her office, her mind racing. She picked up her phone and called the head of IT.

"I need a full forensic analysis of our security systems. Check for any signs of unauthorized access or data breaches in the past six months."

Within hours, the initial findings began to come in. Dr. Harper entered Elena's office with a stack of papers.

"Unfortunately, we found nothing conclusive," Dr. Harper said, laying the papers on Elena's desk. "No significant breaches, no unauthorized access logs. It's like they had a clean entry and exit."

Elena frowned, picking up the top sheet. "Well, it doesn't matter. The technology is too similar to ours. I'll contact Viktor."

[January 4th, 2028]

Elena Skies had just finished her meeting with the VirtuReal team when she decided to call Viktor. She needed to discuss the situation with someone who had a broader perspective and could provide strategic advice.

That evening, Elena and Viktor Gravsen met at one of New York's most luxurious restaurants, Le Bernardin. The ambiance was sophisticated, with soft lighting and an elegant setting. Waiters moved gracefully between tables, serving meticulously crafted dishes.

Elena arrived first and was shown to a private dining room reserved for their meeting. Shortly after, Viktor entered, greeting her with a warm smile.

"Elena, always a pleasure," Viktor said, taking his seat across from her.

"Viktor, we have a serious problem," Elena replied, her tone urgent. "Reyes Corporation's VR system—it's almost identical to our VirtuReal prototype."

Viktor was not surprised. "Yeah, I saw it too. The development of those three are highly-protected. There's no one except the two of us and their teams could know the specifics," Viktor replied, leaning back in his chair. "We need to use this to our advantage."

Elena nodded. "Exactly. We'll claim that our technology is identical to what Reyes Corporation unveiled. If we play this right, we can put them on the defensive and potentially gain leverage."

Viktor smiled, appreciating her strategic thinking. "So, what's the plan?"

"We create a scandal," Elena revealed.

"But it's risky. What if they proved that their technology is different from that of VirtuReal?" Viktor asked, raising an eyebrow.

Elena leaned forward. "We need to be meticulous. First, we'll prepare a detailed comparison of our prototype and Reyes' VR system. We'll highlight the similarities and suggest that it's more than just a coincidence. This will cast doubt on their originality."

Viktor nodded, seeing the logic. "So they'll be forced to prove that it's different from us and that will put them in a difficult position," Viktor finished. "They'll have to either reveal their technology to prove it's different or deal with the mounting public suspicion."

Elena continued, "Exactly. We need to ensure our comparison is thorough and convincing. Emily, Rajesh, and Sarah are already working on the technical details. Once we have the report ready, we'll leak it to the media and let the public and industry experts do the rest."

Viktor leaned back, a thoughtful expression on his face. "And what if Reyes Corporation tries to retaliate?"

"We'll be prepared," Elena replied confidently. "Our legal team is already on standby. If necessary, we'll take this to court. But I'm hoping it won't come to that. The court of public opinion can be just as powerful."

Viktor smiled. "I like your style, Elena. Let's get this done. I'm thinking that this is some sort of revenge for you."

"Yeah…" Elena sipped her wine thoughtfully. "It is. You remember when we were talking about Mr. Reyes's inventions, that it's always perfect and that it is futuristic and no other company could have created something similar without advanced knowledge or technology."

"Yeah I remember it all too well," Viktor agreed. "That he is like from the future, you know, inventing things that are from the future, and that no one else could possibly develop on their own without some extraordinary advantage. This is our chance to expose that."

"We might spark a conspiracy theory around Reyes's Company," Elena added. "This is getting all the more exciting. But just like you said before, this carries a huge risk. But come on, a false accusation can be fixed with money and good PR."
