Chapter 56 Car Dealership

Chapter 56  Car Dealership

Lev, with a knowing smile, returned to the communal room where his colleagues were taking a break, engrossed in their mobile games and casual chatter.

"Entertained that kid, huh? Seems like a total waste. He's not gonna buy," one of the colleagues remarked dismissively, not even glancing up from his phone.

Lev, undeterred, leaned against the doorframe, crossing his arms. "Actually, he reminds me of Joshua, the guy who started that potato chip empire. He's into business and probably comes from money. You know, there are countless videos out there of wealthy folks pretending to be just another Joe in car dealerships, testing waters before they dive in with a purchase."

A few heads lifted, interest piqued by the comparison.

"Joshua, really? That guy's story is all over social media. Came out of nowhere and made it big," another colleague chimed in, now fully diverted from his game.

"Yeah, and this kid, Michael, he's got that same vibe. Quiet confidence knows exactly what he wants. He asked about the RAM 1500 TRX, straight up. Didn't even bat an eye at the price tag when I mentioned it," Lev recounted.

The room grew quiet for a moment, the air filled with the underlying excitement of a potential sale, especially one that could boost their monthly quotas significantly.

"Plus, he mentioned he's starting his own company. Didn't dive into details, but it's clear he's not just any window shopper. There's something about him. Mark my words; he's the type to come back and close the deal without a second thought," Lev added, conviction in his voice.

Skepticism and curiosity mingled in the eyes of his colleagues.

"Well, if he does come back and buys that TRX, the first round's on you," one of them joked, a grin spreading across his face.

"What about we bet? If that boy out there is not going to buy, we will give you one thousand pesos," one of the salespeople suggested. Lev chuckled at the proposition. "Alright, you're on. But if he does buy, each of you owes me a round. Deal?"

The agreement was met with nods and murmurs of consent, the informal bet adding an element of sport to their day. Lev knew the odds seemed against him, but something about Michael's demeanor and his straightforward inquiries about the RAM 1500 TRX convinced him he was no ordinary window shopper.

"Deal," they echoed, each shaking on it in turn, sealing the wager. With that, Lev came out from the communal room and approached Michael who was looking over at different models. "You are looking at RAM 1500 Rebel," Lev said, startling Michael slightly.

"Oh…Sir Lev, I didn't know you were behind me. Well, you only have two models here? The RAM 1500 Rebel and the RAM 1500 TRX? What's the difference between the two?" "Well first off, Rebel is cheaper than TRX by a significant margin. The Rebel is more of an entry-level model when it comes to off-road capabilities, whereas the TRX is the top-of-the-line model with a more powerful engine, enhanced suspension, and advanced off-road features," Lev explained, pointing out the differences between the two vehicles on display.

"The TRX comes with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, producing 702 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful production trucks available. It's designed for high-speed off-road performance. The Rebel, on the other hand, has a more modest 5.7-liter V8, offering a balance of power and efficiency for everyday use and moderate off-roading," he continued, ensuring Michael understood the key distinctions. "But sir…I got to ask, is this going to be your first car?" Lev asked.

"Yeah…it will be," Michael answered.

"Hmm…most people buying their first car would opt for a Sedan, MPV, or SUV. But you, you are going straight for pick-up trucks. May I ask why? Because most of our customers buy our pickup because of its off-road capabilities rather than city driving."

"Because I want to make a statement," Michael said, a determined look in his eyes. "There's someone I know, he owns a Ford Raptor. He's been subtly looking down on me, thinking I can't match up. Buying this TRX isn't just about getting a car for my needs; it's about showing him and anyone else who doubts me that I'm not someone to be underestimated."

Lev nodded, understanding the personal drive behind Michael's choice. "I see. Well, the RAM 1500 TRX is definitely a statement vehicle. Not only does it surpass the Raptor in terms of power and performance, but it also commands attention. It's the kind of car that says you're serious about what you do, and you're not afraid to stand out."

Michael's resolve was clear. "Exactly. I'm starting my own company, and I want every aspect of my life to reflect my ambition and capability, including the car I drive."

"Understood, sir. If you're looking to impress and make a statement, the TRX will undoubtedly serve that purpose. Shall we proceed to discuss financing options?" "Financing…" Michael scoffed softly. "No, I'll buy this truck in cash. What are the perks of it?" Lev's eyes widened slightly at Michael's declaration of paying in cash, a rare occurrence that always grabbed a salesperson's attention. "Well most of the perks come when a customer is buying a car through finance, but for cash purchases, we can offer one year of free comprehensive insurance, the chattel mortgage fee waived, three years of third-party insurance, three years of LTO registration covered, free periodic maintenance service (PMS) for a year, and more," Lev detailed.

Michael, showing a keen interest in the details, nodded appreciatively. "That's quite comprehensive. The maintenance package and insurance benefits are definitely appealing," he commented, recognizing the value in the perks Lev mentioned.

"Yes, and since you're paying in cash, we can expedite the processing of all these benefits. You won't have to deal with the usual waiting period for loan approval and processing, which means you could have your new RAM 1500 TRX ready for pickup much sooner," Lev added, hoping to seal the deal with the promise of convenience and speed.

"That's good for me, but I want to see it on the road, is there a driver available?" "For you sir, it's ready." "Then let's get this beast down the road," Michael declared. Lev nodded and motioned for a dealership technician to prepare the RAM 1500 TRX for a test drive. While the vehicle was being readied, Lev discussed the final details of the transaction, including the paperwork required to complete the sale and the logistics of delivery once the purchase was finalized.

"As soon as you decide it's the right fit for you after the test drive, we can proceed to finalize the sale. The paperwork is straightforward, especially with a cash purchase. We'll need your identification, and then we'll handle the registration and insurance on your behalf," Lev explained, organizing the necessary forms on his clipboard. "Time to shock everyone again," Michael grinned.
