Chapter 216 – Cat Dad is Underestimated?
WHOOSH
Xiaomao and his friends returned to the guild lobby. Everybody celebrated their victory as usual.
“How did you come up with that tactic, master?” Lucky was impressed by Xiaomao’s strategy.
Xiaomao thought of the series of patches. He sighed.
“That’s a one-time trick against swarm tactics, munya. Tomorrow, Pangu will definitely add anti-aircraft guns or something as new default defensive buildings along with those obelisks. I might not be able to fly as high as I did earlier again, munya.”
Lucky tilted her head as she still couldn’t understand him. He wanted to ask him why he revealed his card so early if he knew that Pangu would change it later.
Lucky didn’t know – Before the regression, many guilds used flying vehicles to gain air superiority over the battlefield as the obelisks couldn’t reach them. Later on, the game company introduced mechanical warfare in guild war and anti-air defense structures, which nerfed the air-raid Meta.
This swarming strategy also had a fatal weakness. As the guild leader had to be near the quest NPCs to finish the quest, this created a vulnerable time that long-ranged damage dealers could exploit. Any sniper, archer, mage, or artillery weapon that could launch an attack over 200 meters away could easily assassinate the guild leader and end the match on the spot.
Even if Pangu disabled the air-raid tactic before tomorrow’s match, Xiaomao still had a dozen ways to counter the swarming strategy. Therefore, showing one of his cards was not that terrible.
After Xiaomao dismissed everybody, he sent messages to Wei Zhi, wondering how she was doing in the dungeon. He also needed to contact Nymph to prepare for tomorrow’s match.
As soon as Xiaomao texted her, she instantly replied.
“I saw your match! You were amazing!”
“Thanks, munya. By the way, have you gotten used to the new home yet?”
“To be honest, I want to go home and bring my father here. That silly old man can’t even take care of housework, and he always came home sweaty. I’m worried about him.”
Xiaomao got a new headache. Taking care of refugees was no easy task.
“If Mew is still there, tell her that you want to escort your family here, munya.”
“I already consulted with a flying cat and the lizardman dude. They said that they would do something about it soon.”
Xiaomao broke a sweat. The referred talking cat was definitely Meowmeow while the lizardman was Cernun. He wondered if Wei Zhi would still be okay after this chat.
“Oh, if they promise you, then it’s all good, munya.”
“Another thing, Xiaomao.”
“Yeah?”
Wei Zhi’s messages stopped for a whole minute, but she ended up asking.
“Does this game support H stuff or X-rated activities?”
“…”
Xiaomao blankly stared at his screen for a whole minute. He instinctively brought out a staff, wanting to bonk her like how he did to Lucky. Unfortunately, Wei Zhi was not here.
“What in the hell are you planning to do, munya?! Having an orgy with dolphins or something?!”
“It’s not like that! I was just asking if I need THAT kind of protection!”
For some reason, Xiaomao didn’t believe her. He made up an excuse to dismiss the idea.
“You’re here with your real body, munya. Obviously, you can still get pregnant here! DON’T DO SOMETHING STUPID, MUNYA!”
“Okay, I won’t!”
Xiaomao sighed. He wondered why all women around him seemed to be overly interested in this matter. Although Xiaomao wanted to end the chat, he still remembered why he texted Wei Zhi.
“Wei Zhi, I need you to relay a message to Nymph. Tell her that I need to borrow her legendary weapons again. Ask her or Undine if they can unseal them so that everybody here can use the weapons in the guild war event, munya.”
“Okay! I’ll tell her right away. I think she’s in the boss room,” Wei Zhi exited the chat room as she got a new job.
Noticing that Wei Zhi adapted to the new environment, Xiaomao was relieved. He turned to John next.
“Let’s deal with the visitors, munya. We’re going to invite those representatives to see what they can offer us for alliance or trade.”
.
.
After Xiaomao’s match was concluded, many guilds attempted to mimic Xiaomao’s air suppression tactic. However, not many cultivators had a strong skill or spell that could impact the battle flow. At best, they managed to harass their enemies or accidentally injure their opponents.
In the end, the Swarming Meta was the trend here. Every guild rushed quests during the first five minutes. When the obelisks stopped working, they mobilized their troops. Some built structures on the battlefield while many guilds concentrated on infrastructures to increase their guild’s economic power. One of the guilds, which seemed to excel at crafting, managed to research war golems and used them to pave their path to victory.
Xiaomao watched the live streams while he waited for the appointment time. Although he had already seen many footages of the guild war events in the past, Xiaomao still learned a thing or two from the other guilds.
At 8 AM, John invited four men and one woman inside the guild lobby. Surprisingly, they had purple names, and they came from the same guild.
[CLAYMORE]
Xiaomao felt like he had seen this guild somewhere before, but he couldn’t remember as he felt that they were insignificant. He looked at the leader of this team.
Butter Tank, Level 195
‘Purple name and above average level… so Pangu must have bought them.’
Xiaomao snorted and pointed at the couch on the opposite side of the coffee table, gesturing for them to sit down.
Butter Tank sat down, but his four followers stood behind him. The man leaned forward and glanced at Xiaomao’s name.
“Pleased to meet you, Mister Xiaomao. Or should I say, Mister Regressor?”
Xiaomao narrowed his eyes. Not many people called him that, and the only ones that knew his status were Pangu and Nian’s subordinates.
“Pangu already told you, I see, munya.”
“No, it was Lord Solomon. He invited us to the Netherworld and gave us superpowers in real life. In exchange, we’re working for him now.”
“I see, munya.”
Once again, the flow of events drastically changed. Xiaomao didn’t remember anything about Solomon as this elusive deity kept a low profile before the regression.
“State your business. What do you want, munya?”
Butter Tank brought out a scroll from his inventory. Then, he opened it for Xiaomao to see.
“We want you to sign this contract and surrender all your crypto tokens and game account to me, and we will bring you to the Netherworld Realm for safety.”
