Chapter 83 Cat Dad is Invisible

Chapter 83 – Cat Dad is Invisible

The cracking sound of burning wood and loud cry echoed throughout the port. Corpses, bones of skeleton pirates, glittering weapons, and shining objects filled the shore. Some of them floated in the seawater, and the waves pushed them toward the land.

Torrent stabbed a local gang member’s chest with a long knife, reducing the latter’s HP to zero in one hit. Pulling his knife out, the pirate captain shoved the dead guy away without looking at the dropped items on the ground.

KAKAKAKA! (Where is the regressor?!)

Behind Torrent, the last mercenary on the port fell to his knees and died. 120 remaining pirates clattered their jaws and raised their shamshirs, swords, spears, and daggers, celebrating their raid victory.

Torrent grabbed the corpse of the mercenary that he had killed earlier. He opened his mouth and poured green flame into the face of the dead body.

A few seconds later, the corpse’s flesh melted into goo. In the corpse’s eye sockets, green fireballs were lit, and the corpse’s skeleton sat up. He clattered his jaws and picked up his former weapon on the ground.

The dead mercenary’s name changed. Instead of showing as Bit Tupeer Gang Member Level 80, he became Skeleton Pirate Level 100.

The pirates mimicked their captain. They picked up the corpses of the mercenaries and burnt their flesh with their green fire. They also collected their dead colleagues’ bones and put them together.

A minute later, all dead pirates were resurrected, and the dead mercenaries rose as new level 100 skeleton pirates. Their number increased to 500!

KAKAKAKA! (To the City! Find the regressor!).

.

On top of the city wall, Tupeer, Comet, and fellow bodyguards watched the burning port. They glared at the undead army in anger.

“They’re all useless! Can’t they just get rid of simple undead pirates?!”

A subordinate of Tupeer brought him a box of gunpowder and iron balls. Tupeer collected them and loaded his flintlock pistol and pointed at the platoon of undead pirates.

The pistol shone in silver light, and Tupeer pulled the trigger. However, instead of firing a bullet, the pistol fired a white laser beam, which traveled 500 meters within a second. The beam pierced through five undead pirates, who coincidentally walked in a column.

CRITICAL HIT

Five-digit numbers appeared on the heads of skeleton pirates, and their HP was instantly reduced to zero. Their bones dissipated into sparkling light. No item dropped from the purified skeletons.

After confirming his kills, Tupeer let out a sigh of relief as if he was confident in his victory. He passed the used pistol to his subordinate. Another bodyguard of Tupeer gave a loaded pistol to his master while the one with the used pistol carefully loaded a new bullet and gunpowder.

BANG

Again, Tupeer fired another beam of light and purified two more undead pirates. He returned the gun to his bodyguard and picked up a pistol with a loaded bullet.

“Go fetch mana potions! I need a lot because you all are useless!”

Comet and another level-100 bodyguard bowed and turned back. They ran back to the mansion to bring the supplies there to the frontline.

.

Collapsed House

“Puhah!”

Lucky pushed broken debris and opened a path for the crew. Shepherd, Xiaomao, and Magdalene climbed out of the piles of woods and bricks. Upon coming out, the bubble barrier broke, and Magdalene jumped into Shepherd’s pocket, taking a break.

Shepherd gave his fiancé a mana potion, which she chugged all at once.

BURP

The little fairy’s stomach got rounder because of the potion. She deeply exhaled in satisfaction and was relieved as if she just had a good beer.

While Shepherd and Magdalene took care of each other, Xiaomao gazed at the collapsed house and the mansion. The main mansion was undamaged. Only the extended part was ruined.

Xiaomao narrowed his eyes as he noticed the light coming from the main mansion’s wall. He leaped toward the light.

Upon getting closer, Xiaomao noticed that it came from a wall, which connected to the extended house.

“Come here, munya.”

Lucky followed her master to the brick wall, which blocked the path to the main mansion. She also noticed the light from the other side of the wall.

“Can you break the wall, munya?”

“Leave it to me!”

Lucky stood up and raised her right foot. Then, she kicked it with her full strength.

BOOM

A portion of the brick was broken.

Noticing that the bricks were more fragile than they had imagined, Lucky pulled the bricks and cleared a path for her to enter. After getting inside, Lucky found herself in a hallway in the mansion.

Xiaomao, Shepherd, and Magdalene followed Lucky inside. They looked at Xiaomao, waiting for his next order.

“It’s time to collect some donations, munya! Let’s find a way to the second or third floor. Most people store their treasures in their bedrooms or storage rooms, so we should start from there, munya!”

Lucky and Shepherd nodded, but Magdalene sighed. She chugged another bottle of mana potion and cast a spell on Lucky and Shepherd.

DING

<Magdalene has cast Invisibility Spell on your slave, Lucky.>

<Magdalene has cast Invisibility Spell on your supporter, Shepherd.>

Two system messages appeared in front of Xiaomao. He turned around and found that his subordinates became transparent. Inspired, Xiaomao used the chameleon skill and hid his presence.

The group proceeded to the front entrance of the mansion, where the main stairs toward the second and third floors were located.

As soon as they got to the lobby area, they noticed that several maids were taking long strides toward the hallway that Xiaomao’s group had passed.

Xiaomao and the crew moved aside and allowed the maids to pass. After they were gone, the invisible crew rushed up the stairs.

When Xiaomao and others got to the second floor, two men slammed open the front doors. They shouted.

“Maids! Head to the storeroom! We need all mana potions we can get!”

Xiaomao and the group paused. They looked at each other.

Storeroom?

Xiaomao grinned, “Let’s follow them to the storeroom, munya.”

The group nodded and observed the maids. Instead of going to the second floor, they gathered in the lobby and pushed a long sofa to the side. One of them flipped over the red rug.

Under the rug was a metal trap door. An elderly butler took off his tuxedo and shirt, revealing his toned muscle and countless scars on his chest and back. He pulled the metal door with both hands.

CREAK

The trap door was raised, opening a path to the basement level of the house.

Xiaomao group rushed in. They sneaked behind the maids, who were queuing to descend to the basement floor.

But the butler suddenly turned around. He stared in the direction of Xiaomao’s crew.

Xiaomao’s eyes also met with the butler’s eyes. He also rechecked the butler’s white name tag.

Bush Cox, Level 150

Xiaomao stopped moving. He had a feeling that he had seen someone with a similar quirky name somewhere before. But as he was thinking, a gold exclamation mark appeared on top of Bush Cox’s head, indicating that he had a quest for players.
