Chapter 159: A Mother's embrace

As soon as Wang Ling defeated Gou Xiong. His name elevated once more and reached the 51st ranked.

He was now about on the edge of the Grade-C rankers who are said to be multiple times stronger than the people below them.

"Next!" Wang Ling sounded impatient as he demanded the next person to stand before him.

As if a student was accepting his arrogant challenge, someone stepped up. It was a lady with beautiful facial features and was reeking with wild aura. Yet as the lady moves, it was as if she floating on top of a river.

The Thunder Dome suddenly quietened and they marveled at the lady who had just stepped up the stage. Wang Ling nonchalantly ogled the lady and noticed many things.

[She's different.] He thought and got ready to use his swords. He did not know who this lady was, but judging from the reactions of the students watching, she's either important or well-known.

He was just about to take out his sword when he noticed something odd. The lady had no hint of fighting intent was actually very calm.

The lady finally opened her mouth to speak, "The Old Master wishes to see you, please, follow me."

Her voice sounded soothing and as he heard her words, Wang Ling eased up. The stiff feelings of wanting to fight disappeared completely and he cleared his mind.

"Is this someone important? I am currently trying to defend my honor and pride as I have challenged the rankers who are above me. I wish to fight them all before I move along."

Wang Ling sounded valiant and prideful. He was not moving unless he gets to fight all of his opponents and suck them dry of their points. He was just about to increase the rate of bets he was doing with the rankers, he didn't want to leave so soon.

But the beautiful lady shook her head and said, "It is urgent, there is someone from the Wang Family household looking for you. Master said that I cannot tell who it is, but he did tell me to take care of this little fight you are holding."

The lady turned around and then looked at the crowd with a fierce stare.

"This whole thing is going to be put on hold, the Old Master searching for this man and anyone who has misgivings about this step forward and I'll beat you into a pig head. This whole thing is going to be on hold and would be continued some other time in the future, as an apology to those rankers who wants to beat this man, the Old Master has said a few words to me for you."

The rankers who were waiting to beat the shit out of Wang Ling leaned forward and waited for the words to come out of the lady's mouth.

"This is what he said: "Those who wish to challenge Wang Ling will have to get stronger, a mere grand saint beating half-step dominion realm cultivators? Laughable!", that would be the first thing he wanted me to say. The second one would be: When the fights resume, it would be at [Raging Lightning Stage], those who perform badly up there and those who run away from the challenge will be subjected to punishment.", those were his words."

The lady then turned to Wang Ling and beckoned him to follow her somewhere. Wang Ling shrugged his shoulders and just followed her out.

No student dared to follow them out, else they wanted to get clobbered by the lady.

=====

Following the lady to a secret passage on the back of the Thunder Dome, Wang Ling found himself entering a corridor with different doors lined up.

They walked further in the corridor and entered the door that was situated at the very back. Outside the door was an old man murmuring to himself, he was cursing as he felt aggrieved about something.

"Master, what are you doing out of the room?" The lady stepped forward and asked the old man nonchalantly.

The old man jolted as he turned to the lady and then to Wang Ling who was looking at him in a judging manner. He made a dry cough in order to compose his heart, "Um, I voluntarily went out, I can't become a hindrance in there."

The lady looked at her master suspiciously, "Is that so."

The old man could take it no longer and urged Wang Ling to enter the room.

Wang Ling also gave the old man a suspicious stare before entering the room.

He opened the door, and inside he saw two ladies standing side by side. He was obviously familiar with his sister Wang Yue who had a wide smile on her face.

But the one standing beside her was quite familiar yet also foreign to him. He stared at her for a long time without saying anything. Trying to dig out any information that may relate to the woman who was beside his sister.

It took him a few seconds but he finally managed to dig out a scene where a beautiful woman resembling the lady before him was diligently taking care of him.

A motherly gaze that was filled with warmth and care, words that could fill the empty void that was his heart. Memories resurfaced and his mind was refresh.

Scene of someone bathing him, telling him tales, teaching him how to read and talk, diligently searching for medicines that could heal his current conditions. These kinds of memories were quickly filling his mind and ever so slightly, his chest somewhat became filled with warmth.

He had a feeling of longingness.

It was the same emotions he got from his father, but towards the woman in front of him, it was stronger. He mumbled, "Mother?"

A single tear escaped Xiao Fei'er's eyes after hearing Wang Ling's voice.

Unbecoming as it may seem for someone of her position and strength. Xiao Fei'er took a step forward and took Wang Ling onto her embrace.

Tears was now streaming down her eyes, the emotions that had long been welling up inside her heart burst forth. Worry, anxiousness, and even self-hate was washed away the moment she managed to hear Wang Ling's voice for the first time in this life.

"My son, forgive me for leaving your side! I did not mean to live you alone when I went out seclusion, for a mother to live the side of his son who did not even know how to speak is simply deplorable. Please, forgive me.

"I should have been there when you first took your steps when you spoke your first words when you first cultivated your qi" Xiao Fei'er's emotion was uncontrollably bursting out of her chest.

Tears were flowing out of her eyes seamlessly as she apologized for things that do amounts to nothing but trivial matters to Wang Ling.

Wang Ling had lived in the previous era for exactly 73,864 years old before dying of his own volition. In that previous life of his, he cried three times even though he had lived for so long.

He was a battle-hardened man who merely shows a meager of his kindness to those who are close to him and even in the previous life, the ones he cared for all died when he was fifteen.

He had turned into a mass slaughterer that slowly gains the hatred of many souls cursing him to fall and die. He carried those hatreds and he continued to walk a path that is died red with the blood of those who needed to be killed and the innocents.

He became cold and unfeeling, killing without batting an eye. He carried those traits with him even after his soul found its way to the new and current era.

That malicious trait of his will never disappear and he will never let it go. But the cold and unfeeling emotion he thought he would carry throughout this new life was slowly withering as time went on.

It started with his sister, then with butler sun, his brother, his father, and Bai Xue.

But as he was held warmly by a mother that only wished and hoped for her son to get better, Wang Ling's heart momentarily opened and from the depths of his heart, a person wishing for redemption caught a glimpse of the light and a single tear that carried unknown weight escaped the eyes of the one called Blood Seeking Celestial.
