Chapter 176: I want it

Chapter 176: I want it

The Xiao Clan was a clan of a valiant and passionate swordsman, although Xiao Fei'er was known as someone who came from an alchemist family, the Xiao Clan was in no way a practitioner of alchemy.

The Xiao Clan was a proud clan of a swordsman who not only stood as one of the cultivators who stood at the peak of the realm but also train others in the way of the sword.

The Fleeting Sword Sect was the sect the Xiao Clan had established 2,000 years ago when Xiao Jianfa had taken over the position of the head of the clan.

Back then, he was a renowned youth known for his vigor and passion for the sword. He would fight till his opponent was either dead or on the brink of death. But after he got married, the results could already be seen without much explanation.

Wang Ling watched by the side as Xiao Jianfa conversed with Wang Hong with a smile of interest seen on his face. Although he was carefree, this man in front of him was someone who stands above him in both present and past lives.

In the group, Wang Ling could see Bai Xue was with Wang Yue, Xiao Fei'er, and Xiao Yu. The four ladies were conversing about something. Wang Yue and Bai Xue would occasionally turn to his way and give him a thumbs up to show that whatever were they talking about it was something good for him.

Wang Ling would wave his hand in order to let them know that he was appreciating what they were doing. But the real reason why he would do such a thing was that he was apologizing to Bai Xue who was putting up with all these.

Sitting on the sidelines sipping tea, Wang Ling observed the gardens. Although it was adorned with spirit plants that provide nothing for the advancement of cultivation, Wang Ling was still amazed.

The plants in the garden were spirit plants that had already reached Celestial Phase. Plants may not be able to speak, but he could from the vibrant color of the plants that it was taken care of with great care.

As Wang Ling was observing the spirit plants, Wang Hong and Xiao Jianfa noticed what he was doing. Wang Hong was just about to call out to his older brother when Xiao Jianfa stopped him and first asked him something.

"How long has Ling'er been cultivating? From what I heard, he was supposed to be bedridden and incapable of cultivation and thinking, correct?" Asked Xiao Jianfa.

"It should be nearing four years now, he started cultivating when he was nineteen and at the moment, older brother is twenty-three and is nearing twenty-four. His cultivation is fast, isn't it, grandfather?"

"Four years? And he's already at middle-grand saint stage? Just how did the Wang Family teach such a monster? Who is his master? For someone like him to have such meteoric rise, just who was the one who nurtured such a person?" Xiao Jianfa was interested in who this master was.

Wang Hong, one of the most talented youths he had met has a master of his own. His master was the Headmaster of the Sacred Beast Academy. A master of the spear that man.

Xiao Jianfa was already expecting to hear some big names, but as Wang Hong turned to look at Wang Ling, he showed a bitter smile and shook his head, "Older brother has no master to speak of, and everything he had achieved so far is gained through his own hard work and innate talent."

Xiao Jianfa was stupefied, he did not know what to say. It took him a minute to collect himself, "Are you sure about that? How do you even see your older brother?"

Wang Hong nodded his head, "I have asked him multiple times and he had answered me the same way. But please don't older brother is lucky or anything like that, I do not know why he is acting like it, but he chooses to travel the world in order to not be a burden and in doing so, he is a solitary man which is truly sad."

Xiao Jianfa listened intently, Wang Hong sighed and lamented Wang Ling's behavior, "He acts as an older brother should and carries a lot of burdens. Although he does not show it upfront too much, he cares about our interests and the situation of the family. He is a solitary genius who has no one to confide with other than Big Sis Xue, but he is also kinder than any so-called brother in my entire time in the martial world."

Wang Hong seemed to be ignorant and a muscle head. But he was observant of his surroundings, not just his personal interest cultivation matters to him. Just like Wang Ling, he cares deeply for his family and he was well aware of what is happening.

Although he was not completely aware of what Wang Ling was doing, he was aware of his kindness. He had seen that kindness when he helped Xun Jia cure her ailment. Xiao Fei'er told him that it was Wang Ling who gave her the method to help cure the princess she cares for.

"He's someone trustworthy, but I can feel that he mostly trusts himself." Wang Hong sounded saddened. His usual bright and cheeriness became slightly lowered, "I find older brother Wang Ling to be near, yet so distant."

Xiao Jianfa listened to Wang Hong's words and in the end, did not manage to draw any conclusion as to what kind of person Wang Ling was.

"He's truly mysterious for even his own brother to not understand him, huh." Xiao Jianfa commented. Wang Hong nodded his head in agreement.

After the deep talk Wang Hong and Xiao Jianfa just had, the grandfather and grandson pair approached Wang Ling who silently observing the garden.

Wang Hong reverted to his old self and called out, "Older brother, what are you doing?"

Wang Ling raised his head and turned to look at Wang Hong and Xiao Jianfa who was coming his way, "Observing the spirit plants, it is quite interesting to see such a huge number of them in one place."

"Is that so, your grandmother will be pleased to hear such words. She had been taking care of these flowers for a thousand years." Xiao Jianfa explained.

Wang Ling nodded his head, and small talks ensued.

In between their talks came the name of Wang Wudi. Wang Ling had brought his name up without much problem and then smoothly followed it with the situation of Wang Wudi's sword fragments.

"Wang Wudi's sword fragments was said to have been created in a sword, correct? Can I, by any chance see that sword, grandfather?" Wang Ling was upfront and didn't try to hide his intentions of seeing the sword.

Xiao Jianfa had no reason to reject Wang Ling's request so he nodded his head, "The sword is indeed in the possession of the family if you wish to see it, I do not have a reason to reject your request. Follow me, I will lead you to it."

Xiao Jianfa was delighted to see Wang Ling taking interest in the path of the sword.

Xiao Jianfa left with the two youths in two. Not wanting to disturb the conversation of the women, they left silently. Wang Ling preferred that.

They entered the pagoda and then started going up through the stairs. As they went up, Xiao Jianfa wrapped Wang Ling and Wang Hong with his qi and then opened the complicated path of formation that had been laid in the pagoda.

There were only two people who live in the nine-layered pagoda as of this moment. Those people would be Xiao Jianfa and Xiao Yu, it was like so because that way they will be able to create layers upon layers of formation that could protect the treasures of the family that lay within the pagoda.

Each layer of the pagoda consists of treasures, each layer was much pressure than the previous layer and on the ninth layer of the pagoda was the three greatest treasures of the Xiao Clan.

[The Three Swords of Cloud]!

Wang Ling and Wang Hong followed Xiao Jianfa to the ninth-layer and there they entered the room that hold the sword with the fragment of Blood Seeker. Wang Ling's heart began to beat.

He took in deep breaths to ensure that his mind was calm as he entered.

The room was wide and in the middle of that room were three swords.

Three beautiful swords radiating with beautiful light. From right to left, the swords were colored as such, White, Red, and then Black.

Xia Jianfa picked up the red sword and turned to Wang Ling.

"This sword was forged from the sword fragments of Wang Wudi's broken blade. Although it was forged from a single fragment, its sharpness and its lust for blood was not something to laugh at."

Xiao Jianfa moved and slashed to the side. The sword moved effortlessly and the air was torn in half. The red sword vibrated and Wang Ling's heart beat faster/

"This sword was forged from Wang Wudi's Blood Seeker, to honor his name, this sword's name is [Bleeding Cloud]."

Wang Ling stared at the Bleeding Cloud and then to Xiao Jianfa.

"Grandfather, I wish to ask you a favor?"

Xiao Jianfa turned his head to Wang Ling and asked, "What is it, Ling'er?"

"I wish to have that sword, please, bestow it upon me."

Xiao Jianfa shook his head and rejected his request, "That I cannot do."

Such a thing just cannot be passed down on a whim.

Wang Ling knew such a request cannot be accepted, but Wang Ling cannot just back down because he said no.

So, he took a deep breath and then took out a sword, he stared at his grandfather with sharp eyes.

Xiao Jianfa saw Wang Ling's sharp gaze and felt something change, "Why are you taking out your sword, Ling'er?"

Xiao Jianfa stared at Wang Ling, he was unsettled at what he was doing. He was displeased, but on the back of his head, he was hoping for something.

"Grandfather, no, Xiao Jianfa of the Xiao Clan, I Wang Ling of the Wang Family challenge you to a duel with the Bleeding Cloud on the line. I wish to challenge your sword skills!"

Xiao Jianfa's palms itched, but he showed a strong demeanor, "Stop the nonsense Ling'er, I cannot very well duel you, first of all, this sword has no equal and second of all someone of your age cannot hope to..."

Huu!

Wang Ling's sword qi came rushing out of his body like a dragon escaping to the seas. His Sword Heart that had long reached the limits of its growth showed itself to Xiao Jianfa.

Sharp sword qi escaped his body and sword marks started appearing underneath Wang Ling's foot.

Xiao Jianfa was flabbergasted and was at a loss for word, "Yyou, justhow did."

Wang Ling did not answer him but instead said, "My cultivation may be weak, but my sword had been tempered to this state already. No one from my peer can match my sword and now I want to seek something new and reach heights I thought didn't exist. As for the thing, I will gamble I will not gamble anything."

"Why do I need to stake something? Why? Does grandfather think he will lose to someone of my level?"

Wang Ling laughed.

Xiao Jianfa stared at his oh-so-lovable grandson and then laughed.

"You brat know you way around words. But honor and such matters not for the current head of the Xiao Clan, what from you is better, Wang Ling of the Wang Family, I shall accept your challenge in the condition if you lose, you shall accept become my disciple and accept the tutelage of the Xiao Clan." Xiao Jianfa had a wide grin on his face for some odd reason.

Gritting his teeth, Wang Ling nodded his head heavily as he yelled in response.

"I accept your conditions."

Wang Ling and Xiao Jiangfa had both accepted the condition.

[I cannot lose this one.] Wanjg Ling thought.

[This is going to be interesting.] Xiao Jianfa smiled.
