Chapter 240: Bastard I
A cauldron hanged in the air of the square. It was already noon and the representatives who were meant to participate in Finals.
The four stages had been taken away by four experts with monstrous strengths and the four stages were replaced with a stage with a one-kilometer space.
It was a circular stage and had an ancient aura emanating from it. The stage was brought out from a single storage ring, it was an amazing sight when the stage was revealed to the world.
The stage's name was the Warrior's Stage. It was the stage where warriors go up to prove their strengths. It had been around for hundreds of thousands of years, and Wang Ling knew of this stage.
It was originally created in his era. It was a stage owned by the Warrior Battle Celestial, a celestial who loves to challenging other celestials. The Battle Warrior Celestial fell when he challenged Wang Ling.
The principal of the Hundred Refinement Academy stepped forth with the cauldron. As of this moment, he wore a rather downcasted expression because everyone from the Hundred Refinement Academy had been ousted from the competition.
But the Principal swallowed his bitter emotions and went on to proudly provide the introduction of the Final Round of the Four Stage Competition.
"To those who managed to step to the top by defeating your opponents will have the chance to fight for the glory of your factions. The four-stage fights is about to reach its conclusion and the Finals are upon us. To the people the Cauldron will upon, they would be the ones who will fight!"
The Principal of the Hundred Refinement Academy waved his hands and two lights shot up from the mouth of the cauldron. It reached the heavens and danced with the wind and as it finally reached its peak the two lights broke apart and released bright flashes that sped its way towards Bai Xue and Xie Liu!
"The first fight shall be against Bai Xue and Xie Liu! Step forward and fight for the glory of your factions!" The Principal's voice seemed to be filled with excitement as Bai Xue and Xie Liu jumped to the stage.
Bai Xue was nonchalant and Xie Liu had a cold and unfeeling expression as if he was a doll. The qi belonging to Xie Liu was also calm indicating that it was unperturbed. But for those sensitive with the movement of qi could tell that under that calmness was a hidden knife.
Wang Ling below the stage and stared intently at Xie Liu. He knows he had seen this man before but he could not quite grasp where he saw him. It was weird, but then a flash image appeared in his mind and he finally remembers.
"The Mini World of the Devil? The disciple of Master Black!" He said under his breath and creased his brows, "He must be a Devil Cultivator and it seems like he is not so simple. That sinister qi surrounding him is unpleasant."
He turned to look at Bai Xue with called her secretly. She turned around and he mouther the message regarding Master Black and that sinister qi. She nodded her head and chose to become extremely careful with her approach against this mysterious person.
She planted her paws on the ground and waited for the announcement, and as she waited and waited two seconds later it finally came, "BEGIN!" It was a large shout and Bai Xue disappeared.
Boom!
What followed was a large explosion of lightning qi that rendered the air and made the atmosphere to tremble. Her body was coated with lightning and it protected her from everything while acting as a tool that enhances her attacking capability.
"[Thundergod's Robes]!" It was one of the seven legacy techniques of the First Thunderlord and the only thing from the seven she knows of. Bai Xue moved and extended her front claws towards Xie Liu with the intent of gravely injuring him.
It was a terrifying sight yet Xie Liu did not move and maintained his calm demeanor. He brought out a single dagger and threw it towards the oncoming Bai Xue.
Bai Xue dodged the dagger and then branched her claws against Xie Liu. Xie Liu could not dodge and get hit on the left arm. Three large claw marks appeared and blood spurted out. But Xie Liu was still calm, too calm in fact.
He brought out another dagger and threw it towards Bai Xue who dodged it nimbly. But one knife was not Xie Liu's limitation. Instead, he could control hundreds up to thousands on daggers and in an instant.
Xie Liu brought out consecutive daggers one after the other and filled the skies with hundreds of daggers. However, none of this dagger even managed to touch a fur on Bai Xue's body.
She was too nimble and fast for him to even hit, but as Bai Xue continued to float in the air, she noticed something odd. The daggers were not hitting the ground and were instead staying high up in the air. By the time she noticed this, the wind around her began picking up and it carried all the dagger that surrounded Bai Xue to circle around her and began entrapping her within the confines of a dome of daggers.
"[Whirlwind of Looming Death]!" Xie Liu finally uttered something in this whole match and it was the name of the technique he had executed. The Whirlwind of Looming Death will deplete Bai Xue's stamina and health, but it was a taxing technique as the control needed to maintain the technique and the consumption it takes was something else that can make anyone cry.
However, Xie Liu had been trained to keep up the attack without troubles and as Bai Xue receives more and more cuts from all over the more her qi began to deplete.
Finally, she had enough of it and with a powerful roar, cloud escaped his paws and body. It engulfed the dome she was in and destroyed most of the daggers.
She managed to open a space that was big enough to pass through so she kicked the air and then flew headfirst towards Xie Liu. Again, Xie Liu did not try to dodge nor did he try to retaliate.
Bai Xue saw this as arrogance and prepared to beat him unconscious but as she reached the ten-meter mark away from Xie Liu, her vision blurred and her body became limp. She crashed on the ground just a few inches away from Xie Liu's feet.
Xie Liu looked down upon her and showed her a grim smile and said, "The poison must have taken effect!"
