Chapter 387: He's in the other room
"Grandmaster, please wait here as I talk to my father about the situation." Irta said before stepping out of the room, leaving Wang Ling and his disciples to wait.
"Make sure to meet the demands of the people staying inside. Especially the one wearing the white robes, he's a man worthy of our utmost respect. Treat him as you would treat me."
"We understand, Young Master."
Stepping out he ordered the servants to their best so that Wang Ling would not be left dissatisfied with anything.
Irta walked with haste, his expressions growing heavier by the second. With massive steps, he eventually reached his father's study.
BAM! The door opened with a slam.
"Older brother, you've returned!" a beautiful young bespectacled girl's face beamed as she saw the face of her brother. She ran to his embrace, hugging him as tightly as she could, "We thought that you had died since you didn't come back from the Eastern Villages."
"I'm sorry for worrying you Ylsa, but I met with something unexpected at the east. But everything's okay now." Combing the hair of his younger sister, Irta did his best to comfort her.
Ylsa nodded her head and returned to her father's side where a map had been laid out on his desk.
"It is good to see you well, my son. How was the Eastern Villages, Irta?" his father, Dratia Lopus the current Family head asked with a heavy tone, "Was the damages as big as we have predicted?"
Irta shook his head, "No father, what you and Ylsa predicted amounted to be the exact opposite."
"Wait, older brother, do you mean to say that there was no Abyss World Manifestation at the East? Was the Demonic Tower wrong?" Ylsa was surprised to hear his words. Ylsa was one of the people who strategize the move of their family.
According to the Demonic Tower, there would be a Rift appearing over at East. Though it would only be a tiny Rift, it was still a rift.
"No, the Demonic Tower's words were accurate, there was indeed a small Rift at the Eastern Villages. Abyssal Demons did appear and manifested, many died, yet nothing was decimated. The land remained alive, Eastern Villages was clean of any Death Smokes, the trees remained flush and people were alive when I arrived. Someone single-handedly stopped the Abyssal Invasion on the land we were forced to abandon."
The Eastern Villages was a small group of villages formed over the Mountain Ranges of the Lopus Family. It was a massive land but only a few human lives existed there, they knew that Abyssal Rifts would appear there and death would appear if nothing was done, but they chose to sacrifice the East.
There were much more dire places with many more lives at stake. The Family expected the Eastern Villages would be decimated by now. They actually prepared to eradicate the Abyssal Demons that would appear from the death of the people.
However, Irta just claimed someone eradicated the Abyssal Demons single-handedly.
"Who was it? Did you bring him here? We need to reward him and get to his good side." Dratia stood up ready to storm out of his study just to meet the man who accomplished such a feat.
Irta took a deep breath, "Father, please, wait! I need to tell you something about the Grandmaster!"
"Grandmaster? Is he someone so great that you refer to him as such, brother?" Ylsa had not heard Irta refer to someone like such. Irta was a prideful genius, he wouldn't refer to someone as such if the person did not deserve it.
Irta looked at his sister and nodded, "Yes, he's great. His Master of the sword is unfathomable, his skills enough to make him catch my saber with his fingers, and he is experienced enough to make Alchemist Jiru from the Alchemist Tower beg him to accept him as his half-disciple."
"What? Is that true!?" Dratia could not believe it. Alchemist Jiru was one of the three Alchemists the Tower sent to them to be of assistance against the Demons. To put it simply he was a very important guest to the family that Dratia would bow his head to him.
"It would seem like that this Grandmaster is indeed not so easy."
"Yes, but that's not the only thing that separates him from the rest his other disciple is the brother of the Lucius Vyasa."
"!!!!" the two were left speechless.
Irta began a tale about Wang Ling's claims, the story of how the Star Seeking Sect controlled Lucius and how their family was being blind-sighted by rage.
Dratia's scowl was deeper than normal, "Then we must tread this path carefully. He's not someone we can antagonize, his strength is still unknown to us and if we challenge him, then Alchemist Jiru will not stand. We must first talk in private and ascertain our next move."
"I agree with Father, what about you Ylsa? What do you think about this?"
"II do not know; we still have to consider how Mother will react to all this. Quite frankly I wish to seek out retribution, but I also know that if we do that we'll be playing straight in the hands of the enemies."
The three of them agreed to this notion and just as they were about to talk about how they will take of this matter discreetly
FWU! BOOM!
An explosion echoed across the entire manor!
Smoke arose and when Irta saw where that smoke was coming from, his eyes widened from fear, "That's the place where Grandmaster Wang is staying! Someone's picking a fight with the Grandmaster, father quickly, someone might die if we don't hurry!"
The three of them hurried out of the study but only Ylsa noticed from the corner of the study's door, there was an antique tea set placed neatly on the side.
"Oh no mother."
A foreboding feeling assailed her, her feet carried her to her destination and when she got there she squeezed through the people!
She saw his father and brother getting in between two people and indeed, Ylsa was right, the one who attacked the one called Grandmaster Wang was her mother.
Blood was spilled on the floor, but it didn't belong to her Mother.
Rather, at the young man wearing white, who asked her mother.
Wang Ling asked as a giant gash on his chest bled profusely.
However, he didn't even care about the wound, he crouched down, looked at the woman who cut him, and just asked him, "Are you satisfied now? If so, are you willing to speak now? Woman?"
He asked the grieving mother.
