Chapter 545: Rain
The Abyss had existed for millions of years. No one knew where it came from, other than that it craves destruction and would do everything in its power to kill and devour souls so they could assimilate them in their ranks.
For so long, the rankings of Demons had been arbitrary, only assigning them concretely after the start of the Cosmic War against the Abyss.
Rank-1 till 6, and from there, would be Rulers, Kings, and Emperors. But, there were also the rare cases where the Abyssal Demons grow so strong from devouring its kind and living souls that it reaches the rank that needs ten or more Emperor-Class Cultivators for it to be destroyed a God-Class Demon.
The last appearance of a God-Class Demon was when the Abyss attempted to take over the Origin World. There were ten God-Class Demons, and when this happened, it was in the midst of the Spiritual Upheaval that led to billions of dead.
Only a handful of weakening cultivators remained.
The fight against the Abyss started near the outskirts of the Celestial Spirit Realm and eventually, they slithered into the Origin World. Abyssal Demons numbering for billions broke through the Gods of the Origin World.
The Origin Races and the Primordial Races descended into the Origin World to fight back their home world, but when they did so, they left the worlds outside of the Origin World vulnerable. The Emperor of Death led tens of billions and conquered the west of the Cosmos.
If not for the Cosmos' Guardian, Naor and his wife, the Emperor of Death would have been able to circle the entire Cosmos allowing him to single out the Origin World, ultimately allowing him to takeover everything in one fell swoop.
However, he failed in completing his ultimate goal thanks to the sacrifices of heroes and the rising of living legends. The fight against the Abyss, however, did not end with one attempt as even to this very day, the fight against the Abyss rages.
For 17,000 years, the fight against the Abyss raged. Worlds after worlds have fallen and even those in the three ring sections of the surviving universe have Abyssal Crystals scattered across their continents.
The Seven Towers monitors these Crystals, and the only reason they could not clean them thoroughly was the fact that with every attempt, a horde of Emperors appear to fight them back. But, for the past millennia they remained silent and did not engage in massive wars.
However, that all changed one fateful afternoon, when, unbeknownst to Mortals, Deities, and Primordials, failed to sense the disappearance of the two Supreme Beings.
Akil was a Second-Generation Deity, a being that matched the Origin Emperors and even from the far corner of the Universe, he could see the glow of the Abyss, raging and then as he stood there, with the Deity Paradise right behind him, he made the immediate decision to retreat first, and inform the others of the situation.
"The Abyss already finished their preparations." He said to himself as he ripped open the Deity Paradise.

"What in the bloody Hell is happening?" Holding her sword on her chest, Chang Ping's killing intent as a tide of raging blood thirsty Abyssal Demons that does not rank lower than the eighth rank rampaged the same minute the Origin Races appeared on the Origin World's battlefield.
She gathered her killing intent and swung her sword, taking the heads of three Abyssal Emperors coming for her. Chang Ping could see and hear everything going all around her, the number of deaths happening one after another echoed in her ears.
She stood in the midst of all the carnage. Her breathing turned long winded and her qi draining at an unprecedented rate. Even with the image formed in her body that frequently rejuvenates her body was not able to keep up with her usage.
But that does not matter. Chang Ping could move well, but, at the moment, she looked up the skies and found more and more Portals were being opened meaning, the weak points of the Universe had been taken over and the other bases of the Towers had already fallen.
All around her were absolute carnage. Entrails flies, and sounds of tendrils drilling through the bodies of her students. The people she raised, and those who fought under the banner of the Sword Tower was quickly collapsing.
She was left there standing without any word to utter. Her blood dripped to her sword's handle and with it came flowing her emotions of despair because right above them was a giant purple tear coming apart.
'What is he doing here?' Chang Ping could not believe her eyes.
In the middle of the carnage, Chang Ping saw a single man seating casually on the rift's edge. In his hand was a spear, to his left was a bow, to his right a sword and behind him was a floating chain link.
Flowing dark purple hair and a striking pair of sword-like eyes. Fierce yet calm, it was the face of her master, but without the gentleness that wrapped around his being. On his face was a simple smile, an eerie and incomprehensible smirk whilst looking down upon the blood and gore upon one of the biggest bastions of the living.
His lips moved, but Chang Ping could not hear his words yet she knew it was not something she would like. Because as his lips moved to speak, he stood up and lifted up his spear glowing a mystical purple and from right behind him, was a group of Revenants, no weaker than an Emperor.
Remaining on the edge of the right, he drew back his right hand, and with the group of Revenants diving sword, spear, and bow in hand.
A harrowingly calm and gentle voice suddenly echoed, "Perish."
The Emperor of Death threw his spear and without a moment's notice, before anyone could react, Chang Ping already drew everything she could. Her Domain expanded with her movement, and a one-kilometer radius formed around her.
The skies turned crimson, her bloodlust was amplified to crystalized killing intent.
'Draw it out and manifest it'
This was one of her Domain's forms that formed after integrating the secrets of Wang Ling's Blood Seeking Sword and then, she closed her eyes and remembered Sun Wu's own domain.
Compact, and without wasted moments. The space around her wheezed back into her sword, and for that second, her sword turned completely black.
"Celestial Crimson Blade Slaying the Heavens!"
It was an incomplete technique, she developed in preparation for the coming war. Its power was unstable but, its raw destructiveness was not lie.
Chang Ping dashed forth to meet the purple spear leaving a path of killing intent. And in a split second before many could notice, Chang Ping swung her sword wreathed in manifested killing intent then trapped it in a condensed domain around her sword increasing its output to untold proportions.
It was so strong that even her body began to show weakness. Her skin cracked and blood spurted, but she ignored the pain and swung her sword in defiance to what was about to come.
"You're not going to pass me!" she shouted!
SLASH!
Chang Ping allowed her strongest sword to meet the Emperor of Death's glowing spear
"Break" suddenly, an echo sounded out from the rift and the purple spear broke off to hundreds of different smaller spears.
Chang Ping's eyes widened as her sword hit nothing and the force of the sword was meant to face against an impossibly strong force was met with air. At that moment Chang Ping felt her meridians rupture from qi deviation and her shoulders were dislodged.
With blood poured out of her mouth as it did from all over her body, Chang Ping looked down and saw the spears rain down upon her people.
Mortals and Origin Races alike were pierced from behind and the Abyssal Demons led by the Revenants swooped down to finish the job.
Chang Ping painstakingly raised her head and saw the Emperor of Death looking down, mouthing off the words, "Nice try."
But, the worst of it all was that after suddenly appearing and sending a spear that sealed the ending of the battlefield, the Emperor of Death did not do anything and just watched the fight unfold with a smile on his face.
Chang Ping looked at him with a dumbfounded expression, [We were preparing for war we were preparing to end it all butthey no, he was ahead of us all by hundreds of steps.]
