Chasing Back My Ex-wife

Chapter 60

The door closed on the man Lucy had hated for many years and also thought of for many years.

Kylah carried Caden while saying with displeasure, "Arthur knows that Lizbeth was behind everything, but he doesn't intend to punish her at all. How biased!"

"I'm not anyone to him right now, so what rights do I have to request him to do something for my sake?" After going through so much, Lucy had long since let go.

If she hadn't let go, only god knew how many times she would have killed herself already!

"Hmph! When you were his wife, what happened? Every time you and Lizbeth had an argument, he always made you apologize! He will always be biased!" Every time this matter was brought up, Kylah would be furious.

Lucy looked down. It was exactly because she knew all that that she didn't put any hope on Arthur.

Because the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment...

"Alright, let's talk about something else." She forced a smile. "After all, he saved me this time, so I'll forgive him for his faults all these years."

Caden listened to them in silence.

Was the man named Arthur his mom and Kylah discussing his dad? Caden didn't like him!

...

Lizbeth ran as slowly as she could out of the hospital.

She looked backward while crying, but she didn't see the person she hoped to see even up till she got into the car.

"Don't cry, wipe your tears." Jenson's dazzling eyes held a look of pity as he handed her a handkerchief.

Lizbeth flung the handkerchief away and shouted, "You don't have to pretend! Jenson, if you didn't want to help me, you could have just told me. Why did you have to play dirty tricks behind my back?"

"What dirty tricks?" Jenson glanced at the handkerchief on the ground and felt a dull ache in his heart.

"Don't play dumb!" Lizbeth pounced on him and rained punches on him. "You promised to take the blame for me, but you didn't ask me for the details. You purposely left loopholes for Arthur to spot! You just want Arthur to suspect me and hate me!"

Jenson grabbed her hands and his eyes flashed with anger. "Lizbeth, do you know what you're talking about?"

Even a saint would lose his temper at being bullied by her like that.

What's more, he had never been a saint!

"Of course I know what I'm talking about! Jenson, you pretentious fool!" Since her hands were bound,

Lizbeth bit him. "Did you think I would love you if Arthur hated me? Dream on! I would rather love a pile of shit than to love you...ahh!"

Jenson pressed her against the seat, squinting his charming eyes. "You'd rather love a pile of shit than to love me, huh?"

He spoke every word very slowly, his eyes glinting coldly.

Lizbeth stopped struggling as tears flowed down her face. "I knew it, I knew you weren't genuinely being nice to me! Scold me, hit me. It's best that you beat the life out of me so I won't have to treat you as a good friend!"

In this world, there wasn't a single soul who treated her kindly. All of them were liars!

The moment she cried, Jenson's heart softened, but he still felt as though his kindness had been taken advantage of.

He straightened up and leaned against the seat lazily. That was the first time that he didn't comfort Lizbeth.

"Jenson, are you angry with me?" There were still tears in Lizbeth's eyes. She sat on his lap miserably and looked up at him.

"How could I bear to be angry with you? A faint look of helplessness appeared in Jenson's charming eyes. He reached out, hesitated, and patted her head a few times.

Lizbeth suppressed the disgust she felt and said, "I knew that only you were good to me! Jenson, help

me. Make Arthur stop hating me, will you?"

...

In the hospital.

In the evening, Lucy vaguely heard someone opening the door.

However, she was just too exhausted, and she fell asleep again before she could fully open her eyes.

When she woke up again, she saw Arthur lying on her bedside the instant she opened her eyes.

He had shaved off the stubble on his chin, but there were still faint shadows under his eyes. He evidently looked exhausted and his suit was wrinkled from sleeping.

At the sight of Arthur looking this way, Lucy didn't know how she felt.

She really didn't understand.

Was he unhappy that she had asked for the divorce first, so he wanted to reconcile with her? Or had he really fallen in love with her in their three years as husband and wife? Perhaps he still couldn't let go of Elyse and was just treating her as Elyse's replacement?

But no matter what the reason was, she would never fall in love with him again... It was too exhausting to love him!

Perhaps her gaze was too intense, Arthur's eyelids fluttered, and he opened his eyes.

Even when he had just woken up, his eyes were filled with dominance and vigilance like a beast in the night.

When he saw that it was her, his gaze softened. "When did you wake up?"

He sat up and subtly tugged at his wrinkled suit for a while. He was very displeased with his current image.

"Not long ago." Lucy calmly withdrew her gaze and wanted to sit up.

"Don't move!" Seeing her press her hands against the bed, Arthur looked anxious.

Didn't she know that she was injured, and her wound would reopen if she moved around?

He immediately stood up and helped her sit up. Then, he lifted the pillow upright behind her so that she could lean against it.

When Lucy saw how flustered he was, she felt a mix of emotions. She never knew that he could be so thoughtful.

After that, he smoothened out his clothes and walked out.

Lucy didn't know what he was going to do, nor did she ask. She was slightly hungry, so she asked the nurse to serve her some breakfast, and she simply ate a few bites.

As she was eating halfway, Arthur walked in with a bottle of soymilk in his left hand and a box of butter

cookies he had queued up for half an hour to buy in his right.

The stuff he was holding looked out of place complemented with his cold expression and tailormade suit.

With a mouth full of chicken broth, Lucy looked at the things he was holding and didn't know what to say for a moment.

"Thank you, but I've eaten." "What a coincidence that you bought the food I was craving, thanks!" It didn't seem appropriate to say that.

"Your appetite has grown in the five years we haven't met." Feeling awkward at being stared at, Lucy blurted out.

After saying that,...it felt even more awkward!

Arthur looked at her coldly, walked to the table, and spread the stuff out on it.

He looked at her empty bowl and frowned.

"Lucy, I'm here with the little rascal!" Just as Lucy was feeling even more awkward, Kylah walked in enthusiastically.

Caden swallowed the word "mommy" and muttered, "Hey, Aunt Lucy!"

Arthur's gaze rested on Caden, and he still thought he looked familiar. Then, he looked up at Kylah and thought how the kid looked nothing like her.
