Fists doubled, Feng Linacis opened his mouth as if to explain, then closed it again. He had a basement at the Linacis headquarter in which there were stored two million gold coins and half of the trophies he had robbed over the years.
What’s more, there were a lot of rare materials, medicines, weapons, and equipment! They were his treasured collection, which was definitely worth more than two million gold coins.
His heart was broken when news came that the hunters had made a clean sweep of the basement. Nothing was left, not even a copper coin!
It was all gone, more than half of his hard work over all these years.
Feng Linacis went completely to pieces. He had been risking his life for so many years in pursuit of a Warrior Fruit! But unfortunately, the rare babe had never been auctioned outside the capital. Feng Linacis would be immediately held in custody once he set foot in that place! He had always moaned about his bad luck for not encountering a Warrior Fruit all his bandit life. Hell now, the real bad luck came.
It put Feng Linacis’s teeth on edge to think about it. He hated the hunters with every fiber of his being.
Black Wind "tut-tutted" with an apologetic expression. The man here had every reason to be mad. He had made his living by robbery and now he was robbed. What’s more, he was blackmailed!
When merchants were robbed, they went to the nearest person in authority. But after a bandit group got robbed, who should they report to? They didn’t have anyone to complain to!
"It sure is interesting."
Feng Linacis suddenly clenched his right hand and the knuckles crackled like fried beans! Staring his eyes wide open, the man turned to the speaker. "What are you..."
While he saw clearly who the man was, the anger on his face froze! He was trembling but he dared not to show it.
Peter Komiz!
Looking at the 12th prince of the Barbarian beside Black Wind who was more than 7 feet tall and strong like a monster, Feng Linacis withdrew his long face. "What did you mean by that, your highness?"
"What did I mean?" Komiz rolled the letter from side to side grasping it with his forefinger and middle finger. The piece of paper issued a crackling sound. "You did not see it? These hunters cared not about lives. They were coming for money and money only!"
Flickering his wrist, Komiz threw the piece of paper into the air, which whirled with a high velocity towards Feng Linacis like an iron plate. On his face, there was only proud contempt. Those stupid bandits knew nothing except killing and looting. They surely couldn’t get the real message in between the lines.
Catching the spinning iron plate, Feng Linacis frowned at the softened letter. Of course, he had grasped the gist. It’s all because of the meddling of this barbarian prince, otherwise, he had already killed all the rebels long before the hunters slaughtered his base.
Women! Women! He knew only about women! Feng Linacis kept cursing in his heart. He would have stabbed this sex maniac if he had not been a prince. Where was his brain? How dared him come to the frontier to tread on this muddy water?
"What? You don’t want to read the letter again?" Resting his face on his right hand, Komiz overlooked Feng Linacis with a sneer. "You don’t believe my eyes or my brain?"
Over Komiz, Feng Linacis’s eyes fell upon the barbarian warrior standing behind the prince. "Humph! If not for that Behemoth Bloodline Warrior, I have already killed you a hundred times by now!"
"Right! Right! Why not read it for the second time?" Feng Linacis pretended to be reading the letter while secretly observing Komiz over there. Why was the seven-foot barbarian of ink eyebrows, roman nose, big mouth and two fangs directly descended from royalty?
The Behemoth bloodline were all royal members. That was true. But after so many years, there had been branches and subbranches. Many of them had long been excluded from the imperial list.
"Go and get them." Komiz gently waved. "I’m now officially intrigued by the hunters. They should be in a small number but how did they do that, exterminating all in the Linacis headquarters?"
Struggling to repress his indignation, Feng Linacis turned around and walked out.
In embarrassment, Black Wind smiled and followed behind. "Linacis, Linacis..."
Putting on a cloudy face, Feng Linacis clutched his waist sword as the blue veins kept jumping on his hand. "Who does he think he is? A dog of the Demons! Humph! Don’t try to cut my nuts off, otherwise, I will pull my force back and make way for the rebels! Guess who will die first?"
"Linacis..." The eyelids of Black Wind twitched. He sped up to catch the snappy monkey and warned him to be quiet with a hiss. His face grew slowly tight and very formal. "Keep your voice down! Do you want the Bandit King to know about this?"
The Bandit King? The name got on the man’s nerves! The scalp, along with the hair on it, jumped and fear bloomed in his dilating pupils. The Bandit King? Bhang Wusheng? The real overlord in the Frontier? The leader of the top 1 bandit group, Wusheng?
To Bhang Wusheng, it was nothing even if the rest of the top 9 groups got added together! In the Frontier, he was the God!
The overlord had a difficult and contrary disposition being forbearing but stern. He’d never interfered in whatever the bandits tried to do, looting or killing.
But once a group wanted to seek refuge from either Zence, demons, or the Barbarian, it would embrace nothing but a total destruction.
It had happened before! One of the top ten leaders had once received an invitation from the Barbarians, which promised a commission of general and a title of nobility.
Compared to a marquis who had his own feud, bandits had led a life of a high income, but also high risks.
In just one night, the overlord exterminated the whole bandit group, including those who hadn’t said yes.
After that, when another group leader wanted to do the same, he was poisoned by his own men. His body was sent to the Wusheng base to avoid another tragedy.
Soon the bandits figured the rules to stay alive. No.1, don’t ever try to challenge the Wusheng Bandit Group; No.2, don’t ever get involved in a mutiny; No.3, turn your boss in if he was planning a political recantation. Apart from those, you could do whatever you like.
Black Wind glanced searchingly at his men around, thinking whether to kill them or not for his own safety because they had already known the truth.
His breathing became quick and labored. Though Peter Komiz showed up here as the 12th prince of the Barbarians, he had already sold himself to the crown prince of the Demons. He needed the support for Peter’s throne!
Of course, the crown prince wouldn’t expose himself in the Frontier. Therefore, he sent the Barbarian agent over on his behalf.
Black Wind must have thought that all the leaders were willing to join the Demons to settle down. But the Third Leader had left with all her crew after a fake yes.
"Damn that Hayen Brianna!" Black Wind was so mad that he couldn’t help to curse the woman! Damn the Peter Komiz who insisted that she must be a girl of matchless beauty though she always wore a mask. Peter Komiz demanded not to hurt her as he wanted to get his way with her.
Feng Linacis sneered while looking over to the tent that the sex maniac was in. He couldn’t wait to see how the idiot would react if they caught Hayen Brianna and found her was just a normal-looking woman. Peter Komiz was, in fact, kidding himself trying to ascend the throne with the help of the Demons, who were quite influential. But the Barbarians had stayed the same since the day their empire was founded. It wouldn’t have stood erect if it were so easily wavered by external forces.
"Boss... Boss..."
A bandit shouted on a flying horse. He stopped in front of Black Wind, dismounted and reported in alarm. "The Big Sword... They... "
"They finally came?" Black Wind grinned. "Great! With the Big Sword, we..."
"They couldn’t make it..." The messenger gasped with frustration. "They encountered an ambush laid by the hunters on the way here... The Third Leader of Big Sword and the sixty men he carried were all..."
Feng Linacis’s hand, which was clutching his sword, trembled as though he were having a chill! He stared his eyes and asked, "All what?"
"Killed..."
The messenger bowed his face turned black. He couldn’t believe what he was talking about either!
Feng Linacis was stunned! The Big Sword ranked the 6th in the frontier! He might not be able to kill them all even with a Linacis troop of the same number! Who were the frigging hunters?
"Then..." Black Wind asked with obvious anticipation, "How about the hunters? How many of them were killed?"
Right! Feng Linacis pricked up his ears and turned to the messenger. He had been sick hearing how bold and powerful the hunters were! People didn’t know who they were, where they came from and where they were going! Though the Big Sword had all died, they must have made the hunters pay! At least, they should have known a name!
Shaking his head, the messenger answered while staring at the ground, "From the scene, they weren’t even hurt just as usual."
"What?"
Feng Linacis gasped in astonishment! Who the hell were the hunters? It was, after all, the Third Leader of the Big Sword! His men were all one in a million who could shoot and fight.
"It seemed that there were just a few hunters, but each of them was exceptionally strong." The messenger gnashed his teeth. "If in a one on one battle... Boss, no offense, but I don’t think..."
"You don’t think I can win?" Black Wind was stunned! He was known as a Level 9 Demon Extinguisher who had a Golden Warrior Heart! He might obtain his Soul Power at any time.
