Chapter 655: 210. Active Dementia

Noland Lee placed a hand on the metal box without picking it up.

At the same time, he used a Harmless Deconstruction on the metal box and spent 1800 Energy Points to get some partial panel information.

After quickly scanning the results, Noland couldn’t help but feel fortunate that he hadn’t immediately put the metal box in his Magic Pouch.

This thing was actually a deadly bomb containing Sea Monster Plague Toxin!

With Noland’s “Tenacity” Attribute Value at 19, there was an 80% chance he would be transformed into a sea monster on the spot – let alone others.

The damn imposter butler stuffed such a thing for me… Noland’s heart trembled, but his face showed an apologetic smile. He flicked his right wrist and pushed the metal box back:

“I’m sorry, Heramat. I cannot accept this contract.”

“Oh? Why is that, Mr. Jarvis? Are you not satisfied with the many matters I mentioned earlier?” The imposter butler looked at the metal box on the table, and with a calm face, picked it up and put it back into the drawer.

The composure of the imposter butler was no less than Noland’s, and his face revealed no signs of the poison bomb being unexpectedly returned.

Noland Lee remained calm, his expression always showing a mixture of composed and remorseful, as he watched the imposter butler.

He paused for a moment to consider his words before standing up:

“The matter involves the Charnel Family’s affairs. Please forgive me for not being able to disclose more. Excuse me.”

Noland walked towards the door, opened the door panel, and left the guest room guarded by two Demon Spirit Wizards.

Of course, before leaving, he didn’t forget to cast a Deconstruction Technique on the Demon Spirit Wizards, accomplishing his first action goal for tonight.

Noland’s sudden departure was unexpected for the imposter butler.

After the room door closed, the imposter butler slightly lowered his head, tapping his fingertips on the tabletop. His gaze flickered continuously as he sank into rapid thoughts.

His face gradually darkened, and a vicious look appeared in his eyes.

The two Demon Spirit Wizards, standing behind him, were indifferent to his change of expression, simply standing there blankly, like shimmering crystal sculptures.

About half a minute later, the imposter butler concealed the coldness on his face, raising his hand to brush over his waxed hair.

He picked up the bell on the table and called the servant waiting outside the door.

“Bring in the next visitor.” The imposter butler said to the respectful male servant:

“Also, inform Simon’s Advisor that the visitor Noland Lee Jarvis has been listed as a suspicious guest. Please make sure to monitor his every move before Noland Lee Jarvis leaves the manor. If necessary, use Demon Spirit Wizards to interfere and detain him.”

“Yes, sir.” The male servant left the room.

But within ten seconds, the male servant returned.

“Sir, before I could deliver your message to Simon’s Advisor, he told me to let you know as soon as possible that the visitor Noland Lee Jarvis has left the island already.”

“He’s gone already?! So quickly?” The imposter butler showed astonishment, seemingly not expecting that Noland would leave the manor and the island immediately after leaving the guest room.

“Yes, sir.” Said the male servant:

“Simon’s Advisor asked me to inquire if Noland Lee Jarvis had committed any theft within the manor, and if they needed to send Demon Spirit Wizards to escort him back to the manor.”

The imposter butler knew that the terms “theft” and “escort back to the manor” were actually code words for something else.

These were pre-arranged discussions between him and the other party.

Asking if “Noland Lee Jarvis had committed any theft” was equivalent to asking “did Noland Lee Jarvis take the poison bomb disguised as a contract box.”

And “whether to bring Noland Lee Jarvis back to the manor” was actually questioning whether the imposter butler wanted to “ignite the poison bomb, turn Noland Lee Jarvis into a sea monster, then eliminate him on the grounds of exterminating sea monsters.”

If Noland Lee Jarvis had indeed taken the contract box, the imposter butler’s answer would definitely be, “Yes, Noland Lee Jarvis has committed theft, and we need to bring him back to the manor as soon as possible.”

Unfortunately, Noland Lee Jarvis somehow refused the contract box, so he didn’t carry the poison bomb on his person.

With a furrowed brow, the imposter butler tried to maintain a normal tone as he instructed the male servant in front of him:

“Tell Simon’s Advisor that Noland Lee Jarvis did not steal any valuables from the manor.”

“Yes, sir.” The male servant turned and left the room.

The imposter butler clenched his fists, slamming the table with a bang, cursing viciously:

“Damn it, what went wrong…? Why did he suddenly refuse the contract box?! Even leaving the manor without saying a word?! What the hell is going on?”

Over the sea surface of the inner circle.

Using “Death Flight”, Noland flew alone in the sky.

“Selena, in her kindness, really made a mess of things. If she hadn’t mentioned me in front of Dickler Fagen, I wouldn’t have met the imposter butler so soon, and there wouldn’t have been a chance to come into contact with a poison bomb disguised as a contract box.”

Noland shook his head with a sigh:

“However, Selena is quite trustworthy for not revealing the secret of my ‘Omniscient’ to Dickler Fagen. Otherwise, I suppose I wouldn’t even need a three-month probation period, and I could directly become a family advisor to Dickler Fagen. After all, the awesomeness of the ‘Omniscient’ Extraordinary Trait isn’t exaggerated.”
