Chapter 241 Black Light 3

"Rest well, I will look for more ways to help you."

Eliot shook his head one last time and he left the room. Klaus wallowed in his insidious vibe.

Sitting on the bed, he felt pain assaulting him all over. With a drop of tear rolling down his cheek, he imagined his own miserable and painful end, it was nothing short of a nightmare.

"It's over! I am so screwed!"

Klaus bawled out loud. After a short while, he looked up with a frenzied look.

"It's all because of that woman Nemesis! I will kill her! No! I'll first rape her then kill her, hehehehehe!"

He wants revenge. However, he was painfully incapable of doing so!

"Argh!!!"

He howled in anguish and anger.

Then, a jet of dark light shot into his room and his body!

Klaus was stunned for a few seconds. Then, joy spread across his face as he grinned with a malevolent look of resentment.

•••••

On the other side, an individual arrived near the city.

Looking down at the glorious city that looked way better than the drab forward operating base he came from, Nemesis frowned. She continued floating in the air.

It had been 3 days since he chased after the dark wisp of light. She gave up on chasing down the light with flight because the light travelled at several times her maximum speed. Instead, she used teleportation spells to track what little clues the black light left as it escaped. She tracked the dark light all the way here.

That black light sure knew how to run quickly. Normal level 4 origin master would have long lost sight of the black light.

Even level 3 who didn't put enough emphasis on agility and speed might not be able to keep up with the black light. Were it not for his teleportation spells, she would have lost track of the black light.

She chased after the light non-stop for 3 days and this cost her a ton of origin power.

The distance between this town and the city where the ruin was located could be measured in the number of cities she passed through. Furthermore, she was interrupted by weather and natural obstacles on her way here. It would take a human 3 to 4 months to travel the distance Nemesis travelled. An airship would cut travel time down but it still wouldn't be measured in days.

Moreover, there were idiots in the towns she passed through. some of them lacked the basic intelligence to scout out the enemy before trying to rob them. There were mercenaries walking around robbing people while flying their mercenary flags. Anyone who looked vulnerable, like a certain someone who traveled alone would be blocked and harassed for gold.

While saddled by multiple hurdles, she still kept up with the black light. Without resting a wink for the last three days, her continuously teleported her way here.

Nemesis looked at the city that was still expanding in her vision when he got closer and she mumbled.

"Maybe it ran into the city?"

Nobody answered her.

"Now, what do I do?"

Nemesis lowered herself as she stood in front of the city entrance, she rubbed her temple as if she was suffering a headache.

It's highly lightly the black light is in the city. But, she didn't rush inside to find the wisp of light. After all, she could be wrong, the black light could be elsewhere.

Nemesis slapped her cheeks and he perked herself up.

"I should go investigate inside the city, beats going home empty-handed..."

"Before that, I should recover my origin power..."

The restless three days she used to catch up with the black light wasn't taxing physically. However, she did waste a significant portion of her origin pool. She used more than half his magic power to finish his fight with marcus. Then, she immediately chased the dark light here, her tank was already running near empty level.

Soon Nemesis found a quiet place on a hill nearby, after scouting out the hill and making sure there are no beasts or humans around. She sat down as she started recovering her origin power.

Entering a state of cultivation, origin rippled around her as her environment got engulfed in waves of origin winds.

It was a quiet tempest.

After a while, the sun rose from the east as the origin ripples died down around Nemesis. Finally, the ripples faded too.

Slowly opening her eyes, a flash of light came from within her heterochromia eyes. Her origin pool was now fully recovered and it looked like a boundless ocean.

That was just what it looked like, as evidenced by the previous night, she could still use up her origin power. It was just hard for her to reach that point.

She slapped away the dust and dew that had settled on her.

She clenched her fists as she beamed confidently.

"Looks like exhausting 70-80% of my origin power had a positive effect on my overall origin pool."

It's like when an athlete uses up his stamina before resting, then, the athlete would experience a slight increase in his stamina. This applied to Nemesis's origin power training, other origin masters also experienced this effect. Except for those who hit their limits, this effect generally appears for anyone who did that.

It's a common knowledge among thel but not many if not a few would never experience the improvement Nemesis had, not even if they used their entire life to continuously exhaust and recharge themselves.

Aside from the perks granted to her by her mixed bloodline between angel and demon, most importantly, it was just the compounding effect from her already humungous origin power reserve. It wasn't easy to deplete her already huge origin pool. If she didn't plan properly, she would have recovered origin power faster than she could spend them.

By being an oddity, a weird mixed breed, she got inhuman returns.

'Time to check my hunch, whether it's right or wrong.'

Looking at the huge city, Nemesis could sense the hustle and bustle of the city and she sighed.

If that black light is inside, how does she even begin to look for it?

Shaking her head, she threw away the negative thoughts and Nemesis queued up like a normal citizen, gaining entry in a low-key manner.
