Chapter 1469 The Oldest Disciple of the Star Shattering Sect
As Chun Hua was moving towards the Grand Mission Pavilion to exchange her newly created potion for contribution points and Qing Yi went back to studying alchemy to try and push herself closer to the Grandmaster Realm, the rest of the sect was similarly moving forward without any signs of stopping. Everyone felt hopeful about the future of the sect and inspired by the constant flow of information about the world that they had never imagined before. Expanding the horizons of not only the younger disciples but also the elders of the sect.
After all, before the establishment of the Star Shattering Sect, most of the sect elders and disciples had their view limited to the Heavenly Sky Kingdom and a few of the surrounding kingdoms. Only hearing rumors or tales of the Sky Empire and powerful cultivators in the Domain Lord Realm. The Soul Ascension Realm remaining unknown to most and only ever talked about as the realm of the mythical emperor of the Sky Empire.
However, now they were part of a sect that not only had dozens of Domain Lord Realm Elders, but even existences above the Domain Lord Realm. Even learning about cultivation realms far beyond the formerly mythical figure in charge of the Sky Empire.
Not only the disciples, but the elders had also experienced the rapid growth of the Star Shattering Sect that had managed to grow to a state that it could easily deal with a power like the Sky Empire in a few short years.
More importantly, all of them experienced a rapid growth in their cultivation and strength no matter their talent. Making everyone eager to cultivate and continue growing stronger. Especially so when it came to the older disciples and elders of the sect who had once been close to the end of their lifespan but had now managed to break through their long-standing bottlenecks with the help of the new rich cultivation environment of the sect and cultivation resources. Allowing them a second chance in life.
Considering that they had already experienced being close to death from their lifespan running out, these elders and disciples were among the most passionate when it came to increasing their cultivation realm. Never wanting to experience the dread they had felt from helplessly feeling their life reaching its end with no signs of being able to break through a higher realm and life longer.
Among these older disciples who had been stuck for a long time with his lifespan nearing its end was Chun Huang, the oldest disciples of the sect at the age of 307. Having managed to find some life extending pills in an ancient ruin in the past that had allowed him to live beyond the normal age of someone in the Core Formation Realm.
Even then, limited by his talent, he had only managed to reach the Sixth Stage of the Core Formation Realm by the time that the Star Shattering Sect had been established. Unable to become an elder in the Flying Sword Sect and instead turning into the oldest disciple of not just the Flying Sword Sect, but the Star Shattering Sect.
However, after the establishment of the Star Shattering Sect, Chun Huang wasn't discouraged and still saw hope, as he continued pushing forward even after he reached the age of 300. Soon managing to break through the long-standing bottleneck that had blocked him for hundreds of years and successfully reaching the Seventh Stage of the Core Formation Realm.
Unfortunately, with the establishment of the Star Shattering Sect, reaching the Late Stage of the Core Formation Realm was no longer enough for him to become an elder like it had been in the past.
Still not discouraged, he continued pushing his already decaying body forward. The sole goal in his mind was reaching the Nascent Soul Realm, as an increased position in the sect wouldn't help him escape from the fact that his lifespan was running out. Only reaching the Nascent Soul Realm would.
Venturing into the dangerous battlefield with demonic cultivators, taking on some of the most dangerous missions from the mission pavilion, he accumulated contribution points. Using them all for cultivation resources and opportunities to listen to the lectures of the seniors of the sect.
One such lecture was from the recently recruited elder, Pei Yang, whose insightful teaching on the Core Formation Realm allowed him to successfully reach the Eighth Stage of the Core Formation Realm. Bringing him one step closer to his goal.
Following this, he continued pushing forward to the point that his aging body was breaking and many of his friends tried stopping him after seeing him loosing an arm on an especially dangerous mission hunting down a demon beast that had turned out stronger than expected and actually reached the Peak of the Core Formation instead of the Seventh Stage of the Core Formation Realm that it had originally been recorded as.
Not deterred, he continued pushing forward and soon managed to break through to the Ninth Stage of the Core Formation Realm. The Peak of the Core Formation Realm. Only a single step away from the Nascent Soul Realm.
On this day, after several years of accumulation and feeling his lifespan already reaching its limits, Chun Huang climbed up one of the Nascent Soul Platforms that had been constructed close to the base of the Seventh Star Peak under the close watch of some of his old friends.
"Nascent Soul Realm… Today, I will either perish to the cloud tribulation or successfully reach the Nascent Soul Realm. Living for another 2000 years!" Muttering this to himself as he sat down in a lotus position in the middle of the platform, Chun Huang showed no signs of hesitation as he began breaking through to the Nascent Soul Realm. Understanding that he would die if he failed.
WHOOSH~!
BOOOM-!
Only a short time later, as his nascent soul was born, the cloud tribulation descended- Not an ordinary bronze cloud tribulation, but a silver cloud tribulation with a small tinge of gold present inside it!
For the next few minutes, Chun Huang was in a world of pain. Barely managing to hold on through sheer will alone. Forcing himself from losing consciousness. Understanding that doing so would mean certain death.
And… Slowly, the tribulation came to an end. Revealing the barely alive figure of Chun Huang on top of the nascent soul ascension platform.
"Nascent Soul Realm…! HAHAHAHA! I really managed to break through to the Nascent Soul Realm!"
However, all of this didn't matter to the person in question, as all he could think about was the fact that he had managed to successfully overcome the cloud tribulation and break through to the Nascent Soul Realm. Officially cementing himself among the higher ups of the Star Shattering Sect, while also finally gaining the qualifications to become an elder of the sect.
But… More importantly than that, he had managed to successfully extend his life by over a thousand years now that he had reached the Nascent Soul Realm. Meaning that he would no longer have to fear the existential dread that came with knowing that your lifespan was about to come to an end, a wonderful feeling he hadn't felt in a long time…
"Chun Huang… The qualifications for becoming an elder has changed a bit… Being in the Nascent Soul Realm is no longer enough, you need to at least reach the Seventh Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm to be promoted to an elder…"
"WHAT!?"
Unfortunately, when he met up with his old friends who were there to congratulate him on his breakthrough after stabilizing his cultivation base, he learnt that just reaching the Nascent Soul Realm was no longer enough to be qualified for an elder of the sect. Now he needed to at least reach the Seventh Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm or the Late Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm to become an elder.
Ignoring the oddly familiar pattern with the past requirement of becoming an elder of the sect, Chun Huang wasn't discouraged by this revelation after calming down and learning why the change had taken place. After all, he now had over a thousand years left in him. More than enough time for him to reach the Seventh Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm and become an elder of the sect.
So, with that in mind, Chun Huang, still the oldest disciple of the Star Shattering Sect, set out to continue his cultivation. Aiming to reach the Seventh Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm and officially become an elder of the sect like so many of his friends had already managed to succeed at, as they had reached the Nascent Soul Realm before this new change was put in place.
Unaware of the fact that by the time he reached the Seventh Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm, just being in the Nascent Soul Realm would no longer be enough to become an elder of the Star Shattering Sect…
