Chapter 278: Mission Hall

Chapter 278: Mission Hall

"Hello! How can I help you two? Do you want a basic introduction on the Mission Hall or perhaps information about something else?" The moment it was their turn, Qing Yi and Chu Yang faced a mature looking older woman in her mid-thirties standing behind the counter as she asked both of them in a gentle tone with a kind smile on her lips.

"We want to learn how we can take on missions!"

Their main reason for coming to the Mission Hall was to take on missions, what other reason could they have come for…? Chu Yang wondered this as he stepped forward and asked the woman behind the counter.

"Sure, the Mission Hall exist as a way for the sect to regulate and make sure the territory is safe. Missions you take from here will mostly be the subjugation of different demon beasts, bandits or in some cases gathering different rare materials like herbs and metals used in alchemy and blacksmithing. Wait just a moment!"

Nodding her head in understanding as she gave them a basic introduction to the Mission Hall, the woman behind the counter ducked down beneath the counter and pulled out two small books before handing them over one to each of them.

"This is a book that records some of the different demon beasts and rare materials that can be found in the territory of the Flying Sword Sect. It also includes a few weaknesses of some of the demon beasts along with different well-known locations where certain rare materials can be found!"

Looking at the small thin book in their hands, both Qing Yi and Chu Yang felt the importance that the book would have for them during their adventures outside of the sect. Unknowingly, both of them felt a wave of appreciation towards the older woman behind the counter. Even if it was just a normal procedure to give one to every new disciple coming to the Mission Hall for the first time, they still felt grateful towards the older woman.

"Over there, you can find different missions to take on. From demon beast subjugation missions to escort missions and material gathering mission. All mission will have a different requirement on the disciple's realm. The weakest being the first stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm, while the most difficult missions would require one to be at the later stages of the Core Formation Realm!"

Saying this as both Qing Yi and Chu Yang were focused on the small book that she had given to both of them, the older woman continued her explanation as she pointed in the direction of a large group of disciples that were surrounding a large board that had at least a few hundred different papers hanging from it.

The papers were the different missions given out by the Mission Hall and the disciples surrounding the large mission board were taking down one of the papers with a mission on it as someone from the Mission Hall would soon come over to fill in the newly empty spot on the mission board with a brand-new mission that would soon get taken away by another disciple.

"I-is it normally that busy…?"

Looking at the scene of the disciples surrounding the mission board as they took down a piece of paper with a mission on it before moving towards one of the nearby counters, Qing Yi felt a little intimidated by the large swarm of disciples chaotically moving around the Mission Hall.

"Hah… Normally its not so busy, but due to the recent recall of all the disciples and elders outside of the sect. Many of the missions were left uncompleted and the sheer amount of missions just increased during that period of time as nobody went to complete them… Currently the territory of our sect can be considered to be quite chaotic due to our sect recalling everyone when the plague had first appeared…"

Sighing to herself as she said this, the older woman could not help but shake her head when she mentioned the current state of the Flying Sword Sect's territory.

Even with rumours about them having a Domain Lord behind them, demon beasts and ordinary bandits would not care about something like that as chaos would inevitably begin spreading through the territory without anyone there to keep the order…

The supply of materials requested by disciples through the mission hall to practice their professions had also dried up during this period of time as the disciples all issued their own missions at the same time, causing the Mission Hall to completely overflow with missions for the different disciples looking for an adventure outside the sect to take on.

"Well… At least things should calm down again after a few months of the disciples and elders taking on missions to stabilize the current chaos…"

Saying this, the older woman behind the counter soon turned back to Qing Yi and Chu Yang, smiling at both of them.

"With more disciples like you coming here to take on missions, things will stabilize even faster! I hope you all the best on your future missions!"

With this, Qing Yi and Chu Yang exchanged a few more words with the older woman behind the counter about the current situation of the Flying Sword Sect's territory before taking their leave and moving over in the direction of the mission board.

During the conversation, both of them learned that the territory under the Flying Sword Sect was currently in a state of chaos as nobody had been there to take care of the demon beasts and bandit groups who had taken advantage of sects like the Flying Sword Sect, who isolated themselves during the time that the plague spread through the northern region of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom to increase their power and influence.

Now, the Flying Sword Sect was in the process of sending their disciples and elders out into the northern region again to stabilize the situation and take care of the different demon beasts and bandit groups that had begun to rise up.

This, however, would at least take a few months for the Flying Sword Sect… The Northern Region was by no means a small area and there were at least a hundred different sects and a thousand family clans on the same level as Qing Yi's Qing Clan!

The amount of land that the Flying Sword Sect covered was more than enough to compare to a weaker kingdom by itself! This alone was more than enough to see how large the Heavenly Sky Kingdom had been before the Flying Sword Sect and the other sects decided to break free from it.
