Chapter 1616 Divine Fox of Grand Prophecy
Chapter 1616 Divine Fox of Grand Prophecy
A month has passed since Yuan consumed the Luminous Aquatic Lily. During this time, he'd consumed numerous treasures while searching for the Divine Fox of Grand Prophecy.
His progress with the Chaotic Heart had reached fifty percent, but his cultivation hadn't increased even slightly due to the Chaotic Heart absorbing all of the Chaotic Essence.
Most of the treasures were acquired by Yingzi, and in exchange for them, Yuan had to give her several hundred meat skewers.
'Will my supply last until I can create my Chaotic Heart…?' Yuan wondered inwardly as he checked his swiftly declining stock of meat skewers.
He had only about five thousand meat skewers left, which might seem plentiful, but given Yingzi's rapid consumption rate, his supply could be depleted within a year.
"We've searched the entire Mystic Valley." Yingzi suddenly announced.
"Is it possible the Divine Fox of Grand Prophecy isn't in her own territory?" Yuan asked.
"There is a chance she isn't home, but we won't know for sure unless we burn down this whole place to draw her out."
Yuan looked at Yingzi with wide eyes, clearly surprised by her savage suggestion.
"It won't take much effort or time," Yingzi said, misunderstanding his feelings.
Before Yuan could respond, a new voice echoed through the air, "I knew my Mystic Valley would be receiving some special visitors, but alas, what a disappointment. How dare you even speak of destroying my beautiful territory?" The tone was stern, filled with a mixture of anger and disappointment.
A formidable presence suddenly enveloped the area, and Yuan caught a glimpse of a silhouette in the corner of his eye, prompting him to swiftly turn his head toward the source.
Standing atop an enormous boulder in the distance was a majestic azure-colored fox with golden eyes and purple patterns across its body. Its four tails fluttered gracefully behind it, adding to its ethereal presence.
This golden fox possessed a cultivation level that was at least two to three tiers higher than both the Supreme Ox and the woman Yuan had encountered in the Snowy Fox Mountain, and it exuded a fierce holy aura, almost as if it was a divine being from heaven.
"Are you the Divine Fox of Grand Prophecy?" Yuan asked despite knowing the answer.
"That's right. Who's asking?" she responded, her voice tinged with a mix of pride and arrogance.
"Hello. My name is Yuan, and I came here for your help."
"My help? That's a good joke, considering you were just talking about destroying my territory to lure me out," she coldly sneered.
"What? I'm sure she was just joking out of frustration since we couldn't find you even after searching the whole Mystic Valley."
The Divine Fox of Grand Propechy narrowed her eyes and sneered, "Yes, I saw…how you stole and consumed all of the treasures in my territory!"
Yuan's eyes widened at her accusation. It had never occurred to him that gathering natural treasures in the wild could be considered stealing.
Unbeknownst to him, in the Primal Expanse, once an individual claimed a territory, everything within it was considered their possession. Thus, taking anything from that territory was viewed as stealing.
"To tell you the truth, I'm not from around here, so I don't know your rules. I apologize if I offended you, and if there's any way I can compensate you, don't hesitate to let me know."
The Divine Fox of Grand Prophecy fell silent after hearing his words. Eventually, she said, "If you wish to compensate me, then give me those meat sticks you have been giving that Shadow Dweller."
"Of course. How many do you want?"
"All of it," she responded without hesitation.
"That's…"
However, before Yuan could even formulate a response, immense killing intent suddenly surged from Yingzi's small frame, enveloping the entire Mystic Valley in an instant.
"Don't push your luck too far, Divine Fox," she growled in a shivering tone.
Despite the intense atmosphere, the Divine Fox neither fled nor showed any signs of fear, standing firm and composed. In stark contrast, the nearby Primals scrambled away in terror, visibly shaken to their core, even pissing themselves while they fled.
"What? You wanna go at it? I'm not afraid of you." The Divine Fox sneered, her posture oozing with confidence for some reason.
"We didn't come here to fight you. Also, I would give you all of my meat skewers if I could, but as you can see, it will only lead to an even bigger problem, so I will refrain from doing so." Yuan sighed.
"How about five hundred meat skewers?"
"..."
After a moment of silence, the Divine Fox nodded, "Fine. I'll forgive you for five hundred of those meat sticks."
Yuan immediately retrieved 500 meat skewers and offered them to the Divine Fox, who started eating them the moment it was in her grasp.
"Oh my! What a unique flavor! I have never tasted anything like this before! What kind of Primal meat is this?!" exclaimed the Divine Fox, her entire body trembling with joy as she savored the meat skewers, clearly delighted by the unfamiliar and exquisite taste.
"I can tell you if you answer one of my questions," Yuan saw this opportunity and said.
"There is almost nothing I don't know. What do you want to know?"
"A method of leaving this world," he said.
"..."
The Divine Fox stopped chewing on the meat skewers and stared at him in silence, her thoughts unknown.
Sometime later, she quickly chewed her food and swallowed before speaking in a calm voice, "As I thought, you're not from this world."
"How can you tell?" Yuan asked out of curiosity.
"How can I not after watching you for the last several weeks? Not only do you lack common sense, but you also lack a Chaotic Heart. Are you even a dragon or a human disguised as one? It's been a few million years since we've had a visitor from the other side."
Yuan smiled inwardly after observing the Divine Fox's knowledgeable demeanor, hopeful that she might possess the information he needed to return to the Nine Heavens.
