"Yes, and unfortunately, there will be at least another death."

Tower Mater Gao suddenly realized something and uttered, "Wait… Does this mean you suspect one of us is an evil practitioner like Tower Master Ma and Tower Master Liao?"

Yuan shook his head and said, "There's no need for suspicions because I am already certain that is the case, and there could be more than one of you."

"That's outrageous! Do you have evidence?!" Lord Zi exclaimed.

"Evidence, huh? I don't have any. However, I am suspicious of the Array Tower."

"What?" Tower Master Gao's eyes widened at his words. "Wait a second! You must be the one who broke into my place!"

Yuan nodded, "I needed to make sure you were not involved with Alchemy Tower. After all, you assisted them with all sorts of formations, including the ones used to imprison humans."

Naturally, the Array Tower provided its expertise not just to the Alchemy Tower but to the other towers as well. Moreover, the formations in question had been established long before any of the current Tower Masters came into existence.

However, as formations required periodic maintenance and repairs, there was a possibility that the Array Tower had uncovered or at least become aware of the Alchemy Tower's misdeeds during these interventions.

"I know it looks bad on the surface, but I really had no idea about the Alchemy Tower's practices until recently! I mean, I knew they were doing something behind the scenes, but I never imagined it was something so evil!"

"As for the formations used to imprison humans—we thought they were using it for magical beasts! At least that's what we intended them to do! They always empty the cells when we show up to do maintenance on them, too!"

Yuan stared at Tower Master Gao as he explained himself but didn't say anything. This made Tower Master Gao extremely anxious. Unbeknownst to the Tower Masters, Yuan had long ceased suspecting the Array Tower. After breaking into Tower Master Gao's residence, he had found no evidence tying them to any wrongdoing. Everything he said up until now was just an act solely to lower the others' guards and observe their reactions. After all, he hadn't investigated the Martial Tower and Cultivation Tower. After a long moment of silence, Yuan smiled at Tower Master Gao and said, "I trust you."

"R-really? You're not pulling my leg?" Tower Master Gao swallowed nervously.

Yuan nodded before turning to look at Lord Zi and Meng Xuan.

"Although I haven't investigated your towers properly, I doubt there will be any evidence. Fortunately for me, I already have the evidence I need."

Yuan retrieved Number One Under Heaven and pointed it at one of them.

"I didn't notice it at first because you hid it really well, but that's no longer the case, and I can sense it as clear as day. Did killing those two really rile you this much? Tower Master Meng?"

"What…?"

Tower Master Gao and Lord Zi followed the direction of Yuan's blade, which was pointed straight at Meng Xuan.

"Y-you think I am an evil practitioner? You cannot be serious!" Meng Xuan stammered, her voice unsteady as she visibly trembled.

"Evil practitioner? No, I think you're worse than that, you Demon Worshipper!" Yuan said, his voice filled with disgust.

"What?! Demon Worshipper?!" Both Tower Master Gao and Lord Zi nearly jumped from shock.

In the world of cultivation, two paths were universally condemned and labeled as evil by society. The first was the path of evil practitioners, individuals who defied human morals and engaged in heinous acts such as forbidden alchemy or cruel experiments. The second, even more despised, was the path of demon worshippers, those who betrayed humanity by aligning themselves with demons, forsaking their own kind for power.
