Chapter 148: Died But... Alive?

Chapter 148: Died But... Alive?

Right in that instant as his voice fell, the blackness around Khal changed into a scenery similar to a galaxy!

“WHAAT!?” Elder Caz stood up abruptly from his seat, his face holding great alarm.

And it wasn’t only him who reacted in the same way as every spectator on the Southern Continent stared at this sight with widened eyes!

“How is this possible? Isn’t his Talent associated with his sight? How can he create a Domain?” Scarlett and the rest of the teachers seemed confused and dumbfounded as they wouldn’t have expected this at all!

However, in contrast to their shock, Jas looked indifferent, his eyes instead scanning Khal’s body quite intently.

The moment Seila noticed as half of her domain was engulfed with a colorful scenery akin to a vast universe, her eyes shook with tremor but soon calmed down and smiled.

It looked like her Domain still had the upper hand against Khal’s!

When two Domains clashed with each other, obviously the one with the stronger Cultivation Base and capability would win and dominate the other one!

And exactly that was what happening at the moment!

Even though half of her Domain was engulfed by Khal’s, slight signs of hers fighting back could be discerned while it gradually began to consume Khal’s Domain!

In a matter of time, Khal’s Domain will be erased from sight and hers will once again dominate, putting an end to Khal’s annoying tries and struggle!

Khal obviously noticed this too but didn’t seem to panic. Instead, he took a step forward, causing something that shouldn’t have happened.

Tremble!

“!?”

The moment Khal took a step forward, Seila’s Domain shook while Khal’s Domain was pushed a bit forward at the same time!

Tap…

Tremble!!

“Is this even possible?” Seila’s pupils contracted to the size of a needle, hardly believing what she was witnessing.

With each step Khal took, her Domain would quake while his Domain would spread toward her, consuming her domain like some kind of virus without mercy!

This was simply a sight that shouldn’t have happened, not with her who was on the verge of stepping inside the Sixth Cultivation Stage!

“You are annoying!” hissed Seila and her left eye turned golden with a motionless triangle in its middle!

Seeing this, Khal halted his movements and raised his guard as he didn’t know what to expect.

However, when he saw as Seila raised her hand in the exact same manner as he did, he seemed to feel what was about to happen, hence summoned his fan and was about to wave it, but was too late to do so.

With a firm and determine motion Seila waved her hand and said, “Stellar Domain, Open!”

‘…’

The two stood in silence as they waited for something to happen, but even after several seconds, nothing happened.

Seila seemed shocked by this and waved her hand again, this with greater enthusiasm.

“Stellar Domain, Open!”

‘…’

However, just like what happened previously, nothing happened, not even in the slightest.

Khal and every spectator stared at her in silence, waiting for something to happen.

“Why is it not working?” asked Seila as she clearly felt the power inside Khal’s body through her Mirror Sight, yet for some strange reason she was unable to use it.

This was the first she failed to do so!

While Seila tried to figure out the cause of her failure, Khal smiled and thought, “Trying to copy my Talent? Sorry, but that will be impossible!”

As his Talents were not his but only borrowed source of powers from the Power Cores in his bracelet, Seila will be unable to copy them. She needs some kind of power to consume the energy from the Power Cores, and obviously, her golden eyes were incapable to do that.

After trying a few more times, Seila lowered her hand, her face holding both anger and confusion.

“How did you do it?” asked Seila, thinking Khal avoided her Mirror Sight with some strange technique or skill.

Khal thought this will be Seila’s question and simply smiled and without answering her, waved his fan.

Clang!

“Eh?” however all of his attacks were deflected with relative ease with a single sword from Seila.

“It seems my strength is still under her Domain’s influence…” Khal seemed to realize why his attack failed to work and continued to walk forward, planning to surpass Seila with his Domain.

“Hmph! Courting death!” raising her sword above her hand, golden light began to envelop the blade, making Khal’s face change abruptly.

It was the exact same strike that almost took his life, hence he knew he must avoids it no matter what.

However, a slight problem arose… He can’t!

In contrast to the previous time, this time he was inside her Domain that limited her movements while also trapping him!

Considering the effect and the attack’s radius, no matter where he ran, he will definitely die!

“If you can’t escape then approach!” thought Khal and activated his Secret Art’s First Form.

Crack!

Though, the moment he took a step forward, the Stellar Domain around him broke and vanished, and what replaced it was the previous blackness, with chains all around him in the distance!

“What?” thought Khal as he watched his body becoming extremely heavy, almost as though a mountain was pressing down on his shoulder!

Raising his head, Khal watched as Seila’s goldeneye was slightly bleeding for an unknown reason whilst her sword descended upon him from above like heaven’s verdict!

BOOOM!

The whole Domain shook with great tremor, while the darkness was immediately filled with blinding golden light.

The only thing Khal was able to see was Seila’s mocking grin before sight turned completely black, with no thoughts appearing inside his head again.

Inside a spacious room, filled with hundreds if not thousands of pillars, a great device akin to a platform was placed, shining with a gentle blue hue.

Swish!

Bam!

With a loud crash, a body appeared out of thin air, causing the people that stood on the side to turn their heads toward the individual who appeared.

“Argh… My head… It hurts…” staggering onto his feet, the boy held his head with his palm, his complexion showing great pain.

“You did well.”

Suddenly from his side, the boy heard a familiar voice hence turned his gaze there, but he was immediately found dumbfounded by the sight that welcomed him.

Before him, a man he knew really well was standing with a wide grin on his face, his gaze examining his complexion with great interest.

“Logan?” asked Khal in a low voice, but the moment he realized he was alive he grabbed his body and exclaimed with shock, “Wait, what? I am alive?”

“Yes, you indeed are.” laughed Logan as his eyes turned crescent.

Khal seemed to be confused by this hence averted his gaze from Logan into the distance, but the sight there stunned him a level greater.

Every participant, including the ones he had personally killed, was standing there, each looking at him with different emotions swirling inside their eyes.

“But… How?” mumbled Khal and glanced at Logan, his face holding confusion.

“I was surprised too when we were told the details, but it seems you have not been teleported away into a separate region but were transported into a digital world.”

“Huh?” when Khal heard this his face turned even more startled, but before he could have asked anything else, Madam Snow stepped next to him and said, “Congratulations, you have finished in fifth place. Your placement and rewards will be announced and given to you once the tournament ends. Until then, please stay here and feel free to enjoy the tournament next to some food and drink.”

Khal hearing this nodded but soon realized something thus touched his body that was covered in his Moon Robe and his eyes widened abruptly.

“Wait… Where is Rubie?”
