Chapter 312 - Space Orb
Chapter 312 - Space Orb
"Nullification Array?" although Khal was not an expert on arrays, he could easily figure out its usage just from hearing its name alone.
And just as he realized something, Khal glanced above before asking, "So you mean, those arrays above nullify the ones below them?"
"Exactly." Darla nodded before pointing at the symbol which she chose initially, "And those, that seem to be the right ones, are in truth traps."
"How?"
"It's easy. Just like how Nullification Arrays had been placed above several Trap Arrays, Element and Detection Arrays had been placed above?those ones." Darla explained.
Khal seemed to understand what was going on and couldn't help but feel as cold sweat began to flow down on his back. Just now, he would have stepped on the symbol which previously he thought was harmless, bringing himself right into death's embrace without knowing a thing!
His death would have been so fast that he wouldn't have been able to comprehend what happened with him before leaving the living!
"Thank you. You saved me there." Khal thanked Darla for saving his life, noting down he must pay her back in the future.
Darla just nodded mildly without the slightest change in her complexion and glanced up. After examining the structure of the ceiling she waved toward Khal and said, "Follow me."
Thus, Darla began to jump from symbol to symbol while Khal followed her every step calmly. And from that moment on, the two met with no difficulties at all and reached the other side with relative ease.
"That was easier than I have thought," Darla exclaimed out loud as she glanced back at the floor of symbols, but it was obvious she felt nervous as thick drops of sweat trickled down her flawless, but ice-cold face.
Although she was sure and confident in her ability to discern some arrays even if they were camouflaged, she feared there will be some that were hidden even more than the rest, rewriting everything she until that moment believed and killing them right there and then.
But luckily, such a worry turned out to be meaningless and they reached the orb without a problem.
"So what is this in the end?" Khal walked before the floating orb and asked while examining it from up close.
"It's a Space Orb," Darla replied nonchalantly once she was next to Khal.
"This is a Space Orb?" Khal widened his eyes slightly as he was perfectly clear what a Space Orb meant.
It was a priceless treasure that contained an almost infinite space in it, meaning it was capable of storing anything and everything, even an entire world!
It was not even impossible that one could contain an entire army within a Space Orb, but of course, for those to happen one needed to feed the treasure with energy which could be one's own power or energy crystals that were extremely hard to find around the Second Realm.
"Just where did that guy get this treasure from? Space Orbs are extremely rare treasures even in the Higher Realms, I bet he found it in the Second Realm much less in the First Realm." Darla pondered quietly.
'Maybe he obtained it similarly as I did with my bracelet.' Khal could only think of such a possibility before glancing at Darla and asking, "So, how will we split this item?"
Darla stared at the orb with a deep pondering look before saying, "How about we first check what resides inside and then decide?"
"That is fine by me." Khal nodded and with Darla, he placed a hand on the orb before closing his eyes.
Whoosh!
In a flash, a whole new scenery emerged before the two as their consciousness sipped into the Space Orb.
"T-This..." Darla felt immense shock when she saw the pile of scrolls all around the place, each having different colors and shades from one another.
"These are... Martial Techniques?" Khal asked under his breath, but soon realized he was wrong as the scrolls were neither white, silver, black nor golden. Their color was instead red, blue, yellow, and green, indicating they were not techniques.
"What are these?" Khal asked as he picked up a scroll and opened it.
However, not long after he began to read, his face changed once again, and glanced at Darla, "Advanced Defensive Array? Wait... Isn't this an instruction on how to set up an array?"
"Yes, it is... And not just that one, but all of these scrolls here are. Each is blueprints about different arrays, and extremely complicated ones too!" mumbled Darla before her eyes lit up and said happily, "My father will definitely be joyous when he sees this!"
After checking a few more scrolls from among the thousands, Khal and Darla pulled their consciousness out of the orb and glanced at each other.
"So, what do you think?" Khal asked calmly, but quickly added, "How about this? As I have no reason to have the scrolls as I am no expert in the field of arrays, you will take them while I keep the orb. Sounds fair?"
Darla fell into silent pondering. Although she knew Khal's proposal was indeed fair, it was still hard to accept he will keep such a priceless treasure such as the Space Orb.
However, after thinking about how he helped her find the hidden arrays above and how it made sense that the scrolls would be useless for him, she couldn't help but nod.
"Let's do that." and without thinking, Darla put her hand on the orb before pulling it away the next second.
"Done. I have taken every scroll, so you are free to put the orb away."
Khal nodded and after checking the interior of the orb he tossed it into his spatial ring and asked, "So... How will we get out of this pla-"
And just as he was about to finish his question, a black void similar to the one they have just entered this place with, emerged on his side out of thin air, seemingly being the exit.
"Whatever...." Khal shook his head and without asking anything else walked through the void with Darla following him closely from behind.
