Chapter 55: Victory

Chapter 55: Victory

Instantly as Khal swung his fan, the mysterious power that engulfed his weapon broke forth, making Angor’s legs to tremble slightly.

*KA-BOOM!!*

As the terrifying power burst out of Khal’s fan, the ground before him cracked and turned to dust, while the air twisted and turned like snakes, creating wind blades as sharp as blades.

However, just as the attack could have reached Angor’s trembling figure, Raffin’s muscular body appeared from out of nowhere, blocking the whole attack with nothing more but his bare physique.

*BAM!*

*CRACK!*

The impact was so great, that the ground around Raffin and Angor cracked and turned to debris, but except that, nothing fatal happened. Raffin stood before Angor like an immovable mountain, ignoring the crazy storm that assaulted his bare body with nothing more but an expressionless face.

The frenzied attack went on for a small while, and when finally everything turned back to normal, the whole place became dead silent.

*Drop… Drop…*

As everyone stared at Khal like some kind of ghost or devil from hell, slowly a continual noise started to soun, making everyone to turn their heads toward Raffin who was still standing before Angor like a Guardian.

*Drop… Drop…*

“This… Are you kidding me?” screamed up suddenly a guy from the spectators as he watched Raffin’s cheek start to bleed slowly.

When Raffin heard this, he raised his hand gently and touched his cheek, realizing that he was truly bleeding.

“!”

People one after another realized the weight behind this, causing the whole arena to become increasingly noisy like they just witnessed something incredible.

“This guy… Haha! I can’t believe him!” laughed Nate with a wide grin as he looked at Khal on the platform.

Liza too looked happy, but her happiness was more than a relief than joy. Since the very start of the battle, she was worried about Khal’s safety, because his opponent, after all, was a Third Stage Cultivator. Everyone knew that those who were above in Cultivation Stage than others were stronger and no matter what would happen, they always beat the ones below them.

She felt anxious even when Khal successfully countered Angor’s every attack, but luckily, when he used his fan’s mysterious power, that worry of hers completely vanished.

“It seems I overreacted a bit. That’s right, why wouldn’t he win? Didn’t I believe in him? He is strong, so no matter if his opponent is a Stage above him or not, he can still win!” sighed Liza with relief as she smiled gently.

On the other hand, Alde’s expression was the complete opposite. His face was so overshadowed, that one would believe the skies above turned dark. Right at the moment, he felt such anger that he has never felt before.

“That useless trash! Killed because of an unknown man in silver robe my ass! He was the one who killed the assassins and not a stranger!” hissed Alde angrily, realizing that Khal fooled not only him, but everyone else too.

After he found out that Khal somehow survived his assassination attempt, he sent one of his men on purpose to find out what happened, but it seemed it was useless. Not only did he fail to kill him, but he even failed for a small lie! It was simply unforgivable!

“Khal Nevio… I swear, I will f*cking kill you!”

Jane and Scarlett on top of the arena however didn’t look mad, angry, nor happy at all. Both of them looked at Khal on the platform with calm gazes, realizing that what they believed so far about this guy was nothing more but false thoughts.

“Just what was that attack previously? In level, it was definitely on the Second Cultivation Stage, but then how was it able to harm Raffin?” furrowed her delicate brows Scarlett, trying to figure out what could have happened just now.

“For that question, not even I know the answer.” replied Jane as calmly as a monk, but deep in her heart, she was in turmoil.

She was the typical Cultivator who put knowledge before everything else. Since she could remember, she read thousands of books learning every inch of mystery this world could provide for her. Because of that, she met and learned millions of interesting stuff, but a thing like this was her first to see.

Not even her years of knowledge could find a proper answer to just what happened now and this is why inside, she was deeply shocked.

“I need to learn more about this kid. Now that I think about it, one of his friend is my pupil.” thought Jane calmly and a smile emerged on her face.

On the platform, Khal watched with surprise as, before him, Raffin touched his left cheek, which had a small, bleeding wound on it.

Just now, he used his Devil Fang’s true strength, which worked exactly in the same way as his previous weapon did just before getting destroyed. By channeling a small amount of his Essence into his weapon, Khal could shot at enemies small Essence bullets, or if he wanted, in exchange for a bigger amount of Essence, he could create a huge explosion, just like how he did now.

The only difference however was between the attack’s power. Never in his wildest dream would have he thought that the current explosion would be this powerful! It was almost 5 times stronger than the original one!

By making a small wound on a powerful expert like Raffin, showed that his Devil Fangs were exceptionally powerful. What would have happened if he channeled all of his Body Essence? Cut off one of Raffin’s limbs or even kill him? That question put Khal into quite a serious deliberation for sure.

As he looked at his blood on his fingers, Raffin strangely started to smile, but only for a second. After a while, his serious attitude came back once again, and glanced at Khal.

“You have won fair and square. The key’s right is yours.”

*Swish!*

Instantly, the key moved from the air and with a white flash vanished into Khal’s pocket, indicating he won the right to keep the key.

“Thanks for the Respected Elder’s help!” bowed Khal respectfully at Raffin seeing this and without a single thought walked toward the exit.

Logan on the side did the same too and with a spirited wave toward Raffin, he followed Khal out, leaving everyone else behind in the arena.

When the two left, the spectators realized sadly that the fight was over, so moved too and among spirited talks left the viewing area one after another.

Watching as people left slowly, Raffin turned to look at Angor behind him and with a terrifyingly calm grin, asked, “So? Where is that absolute power?”

“…”

As the two left the building, suddenly Logan walked beside Khal and said, “Great job. You were remarkably good.”

“Thank you very much! You flatter me.” answered Khal with a smile, but deep down he was thankful that Logan didn’t start to question him.

If he decided to ask him about his weapon and how did he injure Raffin, he had no clue at all how he would explain things.

As the two walked inside Moon Academy in silence both if them in their own thoughts, suddenly Logan stopped walking, making Khal to halt his movement too.

“I decided it.” said suddenly Logan as he looked at Khal before him.

“Decided what?” asked Khal, looking at his teacher with confusion.

Logan however just grinned and raised his finger, “I thought it would be too early because of your Cultivation Stage, but after seeing your strength, I’m pretty sure you will do just fine.”

“What should that mean?” furrowed his brows Khal even more, not quite understanding what Ligan was talking about.

“I mean, we will start accepting your very first mission!”
